The Ay-Pee reports that Gov. Palin won't be the only political heavyweight on the ground in Bama Thursday. Former presidents George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter are there as well:
Bush will speak Thursday evening at the University of Mobile's annual leadership banquet at the Mobile Convention Center. And the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate is in Montgomery to keynote a Faulkner University fundraiser:
On the same day, Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, are being honored by Habitat for Humanity in Birmingham, where he will join workers at a home-building and repair project.
University officials say the money raised by Palin's sold-out appearance Thursday night will be used for student scholarships.Alabama is Palin-friendly territory. The McCain-Palin ticket carried the state by more than 21 percentage points in the 2008 presidential election.
The visit is Palin's third to Alabama in less than a year. She was in Birmingham in November and May.
Update: Persistence pays
