Political Stars Fell on Alabama (Updated)

*
The Ay-Pee reports that Gov. Palin won't be the only political heavyweight on the ground in Bama Thursday. Former presidents George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter are there as well:
Bush will speak Thursday evening at the University of Mobile's annual leadership banquet at the Mobile Convention Center.

On the same day, Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, are being honored by Habitat for Humanity in Birmingham, where he will join workers at a home-building and repair project.
And the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate is in Montgomery to keynote a Faulkner University fundraiser:
University officials say the money raised by Palin's sold-out appearance Thursday night will be used for student scholarships.

The visit is Palin's third to Alabama in less than a year. She was in Birmingham in November and May.
Alabama is Palin-friendly territory. The McCain-Palin ticket carried the state by more than 21 percentage points in the 2008 presidential election.

Update: Persistence pays
