Infidel's Paradise: The Media's Choice

I
There's an excellent opinion piece at Infidel's Paradise we highly recommend, despite its use of a few graphic metaphors to describe the decline and fall of the corrupt American media. Here's the trailer:
The media made a choice. They would no longer offer the American people the facts in the world’s news. They would now choose a political platform disguised as ‘news’ to spoon feed the American people who simply take for granted the on/off button on their TV remotes. They would cherry-pick facts, twist them, and at times even fabricate them (and photos) to paint the Bush Administration via the lives and limbs of the troops as the “real terrorists” in the world.

By the 2008 primary campaigns the MSM had pulled back the soiled sheets to show exactly who they were in bed with.

[...]

Then there was the trashing of McCain’s juggernaut running mate Gov. Sarah Palin. Everything the feminists wanted for a woman in their ideal world. Strong. Self-assured. Confident. Accomplished without a man’s hand-up or out. A mother … But she was Bravehearted by the two-faced feminists and the ‘unbiased’ MSM.

Soon the American people were being fed the twisted non-facts (that CNN failed to fact-check) of the SNL Tina Fey portrayal of the accomplished and qualified woman. We were treated to leg shots that nearly looked up her skirts with men and young men in the front row appearing to be viewing such. Obama was shown in messianic auras and outstretched prophetic arms, while McCain was shown as some goofy old fart allowed out for field trips from the nursing home.

[...]

They continue to thrash and trash Sarah Palin. Even out of office she threatens them.
What used to be named Sigma Delta Chi is now known as Society of Professional Journalists. It bills itself as being "dedicated to the perpetuation of a free press as the cornerstone of our nation and our liberty." Read the organization's Code of Ethics if you want a good laugh, or, in the case of those of us with journalism degrees who tried to uphold those standards when we worked in the business, a good cry. Today's "journalists" like to pretend that they are fair, and they love to make lofty speeches about the Fourth Estate as they present each other with awards they don't deserve. After all, these people are just whores, and cheap ones at that.

For further exploration of the depths to which the gathering, writing and dissemination of news has sunk, we also highly recommend Bernard Goldberg's books Bias, Arrogance and A Slobbering Love Affair.
