Pawlenty's my gov., and his reaction isn't surprising. TPaw only started making noise about being a conservative AFTER the election, when it started thinking he may have a shot at the nomination. Since then, he's been essentially drawing a paycheck while he flits around the country on the taxpayers dime. Some people have suggested that he should resign, so we could have a governor who is actually interested in governing.
JP, this is big if Erick Erickson of RedState says this. I stopped going to RedState 'cause they seemed very unsupportive of her because they seemed to me to be very much a Repub establishment place. Isn't Erick a Repub local official?
Of course, Art Chance having so much sway over there also turned me off. Talk about CHIP ON SHOULDER with that guy.
Anyhoo, I wonder if their coverage of her will change now?
Let's see:
1. She already has talk radio mostly - wonder if Laura Ingraham will give up on Romney over this? After raking Newt over the coals yesterday ...
2. She has the Weekly Standard, American Thinker, and American Spectator.
3. She established a beachhead (is that the right term?) in Romney territory by getting National Review to publish her Drill article online and in print.
4. Maybe she's establishing one at RedState now?
5. IBD seems to have recovered somewhat from her resignation with their recent editorial setting her up against McCain - after they went dark from July 3 until then.
Actually, JP, I may have to take back my last comment re: Redstate - or at least modify it to say they still need a lot of work over there.
In the comments section, there are several people who say Palin CAN BE USED or IS USEFUL to excite the base and raise funds but she shouldn't ever run herself.
I can't even express through typing how ABSOLUTELY OFFENSIVE that is. So. She can do all the fighting, raise all the money, expose herself and her family to the liberal onslaught, and yet none of that makes her worthy to actually run for office herself?
Un. Be. Liev. Able.
Except that I just read it several times over there.
Nope, won't be putting them back into my regular read rotation.
I was a Front Page contributor at RedState for six months. I can tell you this -- there is a variety of opinion expressed there. All of the major potential presidential candidates have their backers, but the focus at RS is the 2010 Congressional races.
There is a small but very vocal minority there who detest Sarah Palin. But Sarah also has supporters at RS, which is more than can be said for some other websites, like Texas Fred's.
Absolutely, Greg, I've thought that about Pawlenty for months!!
What did Sarah say in her resignation speech? She didn't want to be a lame duck and just collect a paycheck for the rest of her term LIKE SO MANY OTHERS DO.
She probably would never point out that that is exactly what Pawlenty is doing.

Slow and steady ...

But I wish somebody would.
Hint, hint, JP. ;)
