Sarah Palin speaks to packed ballroom in Hershey, PA

*
Sarah Palin spoke about family values as she addressed a friendly audience of 1,200 Friday night, but she also touched on political issues, advocating for the extension of the Bush tax cuts, urging stronger support for Israel and describing the soparing national debt as an immoral mortgaging of the nation's political future:
The Republican one-time governor of Alaska spoke at an enormous - and sold-out - hotel ballroom in Hershey, in south-central Pennsylvania, a region that traditionally favors conservative candidates in state and national elections.

She spent much of her 40-minute prepared remarks talking about her family, her opposition to abortion, support for school choice and the role of religion in her life.

"What else do we have, at the end of the day," beyond faith in God, Palin said to applause at the annual fundraising banquet of the Pennsylvania Family Institute, which champions school choice and has battled access to abortion, same-sex marriage and the expansion of legalized gambling.

Echoing something Democrat Barack Obama said on the campaign trail in 2008, she told the crowd, "You're not afraid to cling to your guns and your religion and your Constitution."
Gov. Palin will be a featured speaker Saturday at Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally on the Washington Mall.

The event was also covered by Fox43 (WPMT-TV) here, the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal here and Penn Live here.
