Sam Donaldson: Still leftist after all these years

Sunday on ABC's "This Week" Sam Donaldson was parroting one the the liberal Democrats' latest talking points:
"If the Republican Party follows the course of Palin and Beck and Company it's doomed."
Completely ignoring the fact that Sarah Palin also endorsed both sightly right of center Bob McDonnell and moderate Republican Chris Christie, both big winners in Tuesday's special elections, Donaldson clutched at the former Alaska governor's endorsement of conservative Republican Douglas Hoffman, who lost a squeaker of a race that was full of unusual occurrences, as NewsBusters.org Associate Editor Noel Sheppard points out:
As for NY-23, the Republican Party backed a liberal who had to drop out of the race three days before Election Day because she couldn't garner enough support.

Add it up and the GOP was WRONG to back McCain last year and WRONG to back Dede Scozzafava this year.

Why?

BECAUSE THEY BOTH LOST!!!

But Donaldson thinks the Party is doomed if it chooses to get different advice.

Amazing.
Amazing only in that the media and the left continue to try to make Americans believe that liberals have the best interests of the GOP at heart. Their unsolicited advice for Republicans to move to the left reflects the kind of thinking which resulted in two GOP losses of epic proportions in 2006 and 2008.

The GOP has been there, done that and all it got was more lousy advice from the left. Hey, here's a novel idea! Why doesn't the stupid party stop being stupid and go back to what worked for it before it lost its way? Ronald Reagan's two landslide wins in a row did not occur by chance.

  1. I truly wish I could have the opportunity to debate these clowns. The only election Tuesday night that Democrats won was the only contest that Barack Obama "DIDN'T CAMPAIGN IN". So if liberals want to talk about NY-23 being a repuke of Beck, Palin and conservatives, it can easily be said that New Jersey and Virginia were rebukes of the leader of the Democrat Party Barack Obama. These people are living in la la land. The GOP right now clearly has building momentum going into next year. It is their near unanimous solidarity vote last night against Obamacare that is the reason why. Donaldson and the rest of the liberal pundits still can't explain why independents broke so sharply for Christy and McDonnell.
