Misreading Sarah Palin

Lance Winslow, a business entrepreneur and writer, says in an Ezine @rticles opinion piece that most political animals and the chatterati are misreading Sarah Palin's popularity:
"You see, she appeals to a large number of folks, not just Christian, the non-hardcore right sees past her Abortion stance and other issues, seeing her as female version of Ronald Reagan attacking the status quo. Indeed, for the little amount of money they spent during the last presidential election compared to Obama's crack PR team, I'd say they did a very good job in creating her personal persona."

"In fact, I'd say she appeals to many libertarians that tend to lean right but also jumped ship from the Republican Party and bought into this whole 'change' rhetoric."
With that last sentence, Winslow makes a key point. I've long argued that Sarah Palin is perhaps the only leading Republican who can heal the rift between conservatives and libertarians. This is an important step in the process of putting the Reagan coalition back together. She will have to improve her standing with independents and Reagan Democrats, and there has been some progress on those fronts, but Sarahcuda still a lot of work to do with those voters. However, she is working on it, and there is plenty of time to get it accomplished.

Winslow seems to be making an appeal in the best interests of those who are attacking Sarah Palin and her family so viciously:
"Sarah Palin, America's Soccer Mom icon, is fine, she'll do fine and trashing her is like trashing everyone's mom, and that's not going to work, only make her stronger and more viable. Please consider all this."
I'm afraid Mr. Winslow's wise advice will be ignored by those who most need to take it seriously. They are consumed with destroying her and may well destroy themselves in the process.

  1. I could not agree more with this. An attack on Sarah Palin is an attack on your everyday hard working American. Let's face it, most Americans do work, most Americans aren't rich, most are not accepted into the "elite" rings due to pedigree, family, schooling, and sadly, class.

However, Sarah Palin is my leader and will continue to be. Those who repeatedly distort her record, smear her and marginalize her are helping her in so many ways. I've seen it directly with left liberals who despised her just 9 months ago, now they sympathize with her and actually like her. Same thing with Independents. She's the real deal. She's not corrupt, she's honest, she's genuinely nice, she's charismatic, she's principled, she believes in the building blocks of this great country.

She speaks for the hundreds of millions middle class, working and non-ivy leaguers. She's a true American hero and she will be our President one day, very soon.

God bless you Sarah and your family.
