What state contributed the most to SarahPAC?

Based on the numbers disclosed by Sarah Palin PAC, which of the 50 states contributed the most money? Taking a logical approach, one would assume that it would be a red state, probably Texas. One would be wrong.

It is a blue state.

Again, one would think that California, though blue, has some large pockets of well-heeled conservative around San Diego and in Orange County. So the great state of California is most likely where the lion's share of SarahPAC donations came from.

Wrong again.

According to the Sunlight Foundation, where the numbers have been crunched in every way possible:
New York State topped the geographical list of donors at $61,000, followed by Florida, Texas, California, Connecticut, Virginia, Georgia, New Mexico and Maryland.
This may help to explain the warm and enthusiastic welcome Gov. Palin received in New York State when she visited there in early June. Outside of liberal New York City, the Empire State has some small-town conservatives who believe so much in Sarah Palin that they put their money where their minds were.
