More Quote of the Day Honorable Mentions, Part 25

*
"We can't spare this woman" Edition...

Rush Limbaugh:
"This uproar over Rahm Emanuel calling Democrat activists 'F-ing retards,' demonstrates the power of Sarah Palin. It was Sarah Palin who, on her Facebook page this week, demanded that Obama fire Emanuel. But this comment is from last August! The 'F-ing retard' comment, he made it last August. Of course our State-Controlled Media buddies tell us that she's 'irrelevant' and she's 'stupid' and so forth and 'she would be the instant death of the Republican Party.' She's the one that got all this brouhaha going."
Snarky Basterd:
"Here are my ironclad recommendations that will guarantee that you, Mr. pResident, will win re-election in 2012: Fire Rahm Emanuel as chief of staff and replace him with Sarah Palin’s Facebook page, since it has far more influence on the country."
Roger Ailes:
"I mean, everybody hates her who's ever written a book because they didn't sell many. She wrote a book and it sold two million in two weeks, and so now they hate her, they have a new reason to hate her."
Sheila Kihne:
"Ailes remind[ed] Huffington of the nasty personal attacks (he's a 'malignant tumor') on her blog to which she feigns confusion... So typical of the lefties who simply can't take the new wave of conservative push-back on their progressive world-view being shoved at us. You see the ycan say any nasty things they want, but they're still the 'intellectuals'. How much intellect does it take to come up with 'Michelle Bachmann is crazy and Sarah Palin's stupid?' I mean, really."
The Constitutional Crusader:
"That article bloviates on and on about how Sarah Palin supposedly used $63000 of her own money generated by SarahPAC to pad the best-seller list and stay on top for a bit longer. Blatant editorializing aside, this article is full of hogwash for one reason and one reason only: Going Rogue has sold over 2.5 MILLION copies. Most of which were bought on order before the book was even in stores! And these idiots think sixty thousand bucks will even register on the free market radar after that?"
Walter Russel Mead:
"Basically, Sarah Palin 1, Al Gore zip. The global warming meltdown confirms all the populist suspicions out there about an arrogantly clueless establishment invoking faked ’science’ to impose cockamamie social mandates on the long-suffering American people, backed by a mainstream media that is totally in the tank."
Anthony G. Martin:
"At the top of the list of many if not most conservatives today is Sarah Palin. She is pro-gun and pro-life, and she supports lower taxes, smaller government, and fiscal restraint in Washington. Palin has also proved that she can raise money and sell books. Before her new book was even published she had pre-sold enough copies--over a million--to make it to Number One on the Amazon best-seller list... And let's not minimize the fact that on the stump she can give a speech that fires up the conservative base as no other."
The Breda Fallacy:
"You'll recall [John Edwards] was celebrated by Democrats, swooned over by liberal women, and could have been just one heartbeat away from the presidency. To make matters worse, his sociopathic behavior was covered up by personal aides and excused by a fawning media. And to think...these are the same people who were so worried about Sarah Palin."
Grouchy Old Cripple:
"The following was in the print edition of the AJC last Friday... 'To all you Obama haters... Just imagine that Sarah Palin could have been a heartbeat away from being president! ...I rest my case!' Dude! I really hope you are not a lawyer. If so, your won/lost record must really be crappy. Sarah Palin. Could that be the Sarah Palin who has actually run a businesss? Could that be the Sarah Palin who has actually run a town? Could that be the Sarah Palin who has actually run a state? The Sarah Palin who actually balanced the budget of her state every year? The only thing that Jug Hussein Ears has ever run has been his mouth..."
David Corn:
"The former Alaska governor has declared that she will campaign for McCain. How could she not? Where would she be without him? In Juneau -- still toiling at the governor's desk, unknown to most of us in the lower 48... and with no millions from a book contract. Loyalty and decency demand she stand by her man. And she'd look darn silly if, after claiming that McCain was the most qualified man to lead the United States in these perilous times, she now said he wasn't up to being a senator."
Doug Patton:
"Tim Tebow and his mother are about to learn the same lesson Todd and Sarah Palin and their family learned during the 2008 campaign. That lesson is that you had better not bring your pro-life message into the public square -- especially if you have lived it. That, of course, is what pro-abortion advocates fear most. Anyone willing to make the sacrifice to give life to someone society would just as soon discard threatens the order of things for them. Like Sarah Palin's fifth baby, Trig, Tim Tebow would never have been born had so-called pro-choice advocates had their way... Television's cruelest dimwit, Joy Behar, pointed out that Tim Tebow could just as easily grown up to be a rapist pedophile. Apparently, on the strength of that possibility, Pam Tebow should have aborted baby Tim while she had the chance."
Amy Siskind:
Those of you following our blog know that we have been recommending a boycott of Game Change due to [its] outrageous level of misogyny. I returned my pre-ordered copy without cracking a page in protest. With the store credit, I bought Dee Dee [Myers'] book, Why Women Should Rule the World. We also recommended on this blog 2 other books written by and about women, Going Rogue by Sarah Palin and Notes from the Cracked Ceiling by Anne Kornblut, both of which are excellent reads."
Michael McGough:
"If your first reaction is to scold Alito for his outburst (more of an inburst), join me in this thought experiment. It's 2018. At President Sarah Palin's State of the Union address, she assails the Supreme Court for its ruling that laws limiting marriage to opposite-sex couples were unconstitutional. Says Madame President: 'With all due deference to separation of powers, the Supreme Court reversed centuries of law that, I believe, will lead to the destruction of a sacred institution and incalculable harm to our children.' Would you object if Justice Sonia Sotomayor, sitting in the audience, muttered 'not true'?"
Stuart Schwartz:
"And so the venom drips, and the ratings sink. Olbermann is cruel to all who, as a class, have rejected him, such as joyful people and women…or people of faith and women…or people with traditional marriages and women…and those with well-adjusted relationships and women. Did I mention women? Women are anathema to Olbermann. He delights in demeaning them, and the more attractive or accomplished they are, the more malicious he gets. Conservative Congresswoman Michelle Bachman, who relishes her role as policymaker and mother, is a frequent object of his anger; columnist Michelle Malkin is a “big mashed up bag of meat with lipstick” because of her intelligence and traditional values; Sarah Palin is a moronic “Bush in a skirt”; and there’s nothing wrong with Hillary Clinton — who had the nerve to oppose Barack Obama in the Democrat primaries — that a good beating won’t cure."
Carl Andrews:
"I wonder what 'Dingy Harry' has planned for 2011? Because if the Senate Majority Leader wasn’t already facing an uphill battle, as are most Democrats, for re-election in 2010, now he has the Tea Party Nation and Sarah Palin coming after him. And she is called Sarah Barracuda for a reason."
Kathryn Jean Lopez:
"Rafie believes that 'there is a shift that is becoming more palpable.' With enthusiasm and gratitude she says that when former Alaska governor Sarah Palin walked onto the national political scene during the 2008 presidential election, 'it was Trig Palin many of us were excited about.' Palin’s son, who has Down Syndrome, “galvanized” families that live with Down Syndrome. 'The electricity' is still bearing fruit, Rafie explains. Rafie’s comments track with what Palin writes in her book, Going Rogue. Of one rally in Pensacola, Fla., she writes: 'Up in the stands, I spotted a group of 15 kids with Down syndrome wearing shirts that said, we love trig! and trig in the white house. I thought, Wow! How great that these precious people have someone associated with a national campaign that they can identify with.'"
Crusader Rabbit:
"One of the things I’ve noticed about liberals or lefties is that they can’t seem to stand anyone voicing an opinion that’s not in line with their own, the reasons are not the same for all of them, for some it’s just in their nature to hate those that won’t bend to their will, those are the liberal fascists. For the other ones, I think that it’s because their beliefs are as weak as just-boiled-noodles... It’s quite amusing to watch, and the above reminds me of the incoherent braying from the left when Sarah Palin dared to keep her baby with Down Syndrome and refused to slaughter him whilst still in her body. It’s been more than a year, but I’m sure there still are leftist cockroaches out there who feel sour and upset that she dared to have the baby anyway."
Council of Conservative Citizens:
"Remember when the Republican party loaned Sarah Palin tens of thousands of dollars worth of designer dresses? The media went on an anti-Palin hate campaign. Yet Michelle is burning through thousands worth of brand new designer clothes a week and the media calls her 'fashionable' and 'the new Jackie Kennedy.'"
Jim Hoft:
"This was brutal. It’s no wonder the state-run media and far left hate her so much. Sarah Palin smack[ed] the Narcissist in Chief down a few notches after his confusing and insulting SOTU Address..."
Jennifer Harper:
"When her critics grow shrill and unfriendly journalists circle with whetted appetites, Sarah Palin has the same reaction. She smiles. It is larger than life, universal, genuine, canny, sparkling - and it drives them all crazy. How can you defeat a woman who is fearless enough to smile in the face of the oncoming media train?"
