GOP 12 begrudgingly gives Sarah Palin some credit

We'll never stop being amused by Palinophobic pundits who have to struggle to bestow even the most backhanded of compliments and give only begrudging credit to the former governor for her accomplishments. Vichy Republicans are increasingly sounding more like liberal Democrats -- same talking points, same language, same snark factor, etc.

Consider the way GOP 12 treated Sarah Palin's recent victorious battle in the war against ObamaCare:
"Politically-speaking, Palin's scored a win on the end-of-life care issue (even though the real issue was end-of-life counseling, which is an entirely different matter)."
Excuse us, but Sarah Palin never said that end-of-life counseling wasn't an issue. She is, in fact, on the record in favor of voluntary, private end-of-life counseling, as opposed to the federally-mandated, big-government approach to it.

GOP 12 also lumps all Palin supporters into a monolithic mob, implying that the last man and woman of us would give the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee 100% of the credit for the Senate tossing the controversial provision under Obama's bus:
"But keep an eye out for Palin fans who attribute America's consistent unease with health care reform entirely to Sarah Palin's recent comments."

[...]

"The online-based poll helped seal the deal -- Palin can, indeed, take full credit."

[...]

"All of this obscures the fact health care reform was bleeding badly before Palin stepped onto the stage, with her first Facebook post. Hence, the town halls. Hence, the town halls. And hence, the town halls."
Actually, we acknowledged in one of our posts that any credit Sarah Palin gets for this victory should be shared:
"But while we agree that Sarah Palin deserves much credit for shining a light on the bill's end of life provision, one which the legislation's backers had insisted did not exist, we're sure that she would be the first one to share that credit with the thousands of members of what the state-controlled media characterized as "angry mobs" that turned out at town halls across the land to protest ObamaCare. After all, Sarah knows what it is like to be demonized also."
That post, in fact, quoted and linked to Tammy Bruce, Dr. Melissa Clouthier and U.S. News' Peter Roff, all of whom were crediting Sarah Palin. And did Sarah Palin try to take all the kudos for herself? No. As we predicted, she gave the credit to everyday Americans:
"I join millions of Americans in expressing appreciation for the Senate Finance Committee’s decision to remove the provision in the pending health care bill that authorizes end-of-life consultations (Section 1233 of HR 3200). It’s gratifying that the voice of the people is getting through to Congress..."
And excuse us again, but health care reform was not "bleeding badly" before Sarah Palin spoke out against it. While more Americans were against it than in favor of it, the Democrats had bandaged the wound and still had hopes for a favorable Congressional prognosis. The Obamunists and their trained media lapdogs had characterized the town hall protesters as angry mobs of extremist misfits, much as they had defined the tea party protesters. They might have gotten away with it, too, had not Sarah Palin spoken up with her well-reasoned and meticulously-documented Facebook arguments.

Finally, when your browser lands upon a pro-Palin webiste, what you see is pretty much what you get. Our sites make no secret of our support for the former governor. There's no attempt to obscure that support or to mask a hidden agenda. Contrary to what GOP 12 says, what you have to watch out for are not Palin fans, but rather websites which have all the appearance of being pages where all GOP presidential candidates will be given fair and equal treatment. But scratch the surface and you quickly discover that they play their favorites and try to cut down those who are seen as threats to those favorites. GOP 12 is one of those websites which has been against Sarah Palin from Day One.

  1. Bravo! This is more like the well-reasoned argument I'd hope somebody would use against gop12.com. C4P went the whole hog and called him a jerk and a moron. It was quite funny.

Charles Johnson also had a peeve that Sarah won this round. Like all pundits, he jumped the gun but now can't digest that he's wrong. Instead, he blames Sarah some more. And the comments are all so ridiculously monotonous. Methinks he types those comments himself too. :)
