New York Times media blogger Jim Rutenberg says on Media Decoder that former Governor Sarah Palin will soon join the ranks of FOX News contributors:
Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.Rutenberg's source says that the 2008 vice presidential candidate will not host a regular program, as does former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, but that she will host an "occasional series" that will run on the network "from time to time" much like retired Col. Oliver North's "War Stories."
The network confirmed that Ms. Palin will appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multi-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The reported arrangement should give Gov. Palin the flexibility she needs to engage in fundraising efforts for conservative candidates and to continue her speaking engagements.
According to Rutenberg, a formal announcement of the agreement could be made soon, perhaps as early as this afternoon.
Update: The LA Times' Show Tracker blog says she will start working for FOX Tuesday night on Bill O'Reilly's show.

Excellent! I like it. I hope she takes the opportunity to go to Sudan/Darfur, Iraq/Afghanistan, Yemen and other trouble spots and do specials from there. Foreign policy experience the easy way.
ReplyDeleteWow! I like this idea! Go Sarah!
ReplyDeleteI am unsure if I like this idea.
ReplyDeleteThis country is in so much trouble that it will
take a real reformer to set it right. I admit
I was hoping Sarah Palin would be our President
in 2012.
Being a commentator on Fox News may not be a good stepping stone to the White House. However,
perhaps she doesn't want to run. Or, perhaps she does and this will be good for her image.
We will have to wait and see.
So does this mean 2012 is not an option now or what?
ReplyDeleteI'm 110% behind her. I love the idea. I can't imagine how this takes her out of the running for 2012. She'll probably still have more time than Huck does. It's great! I love it!
ReplyDeleteLisa, I'm with you - this move gives Sarah more options regarding getting her views more widely communicated. And, let's face it (please forgive this pun), she comes across so favorably in person, this medium may well be very much more effective than Facebook alone.
