More Quote of the Day Honorable Mentions, Part 16

*
A new year, a new batch of quotes...

David Vance:
"Schwarzenegger may have image but he has no substance. He inherited a mess and then made it worse. Yet this is the man who lectures Sarah Palin on her values even as his State is financially bust and Alaska prospers."
Rich Gelder:
"The irony appears to be lost on most critics. They object to Sarah Palin appearing at a fundraiser for a publicly-funded hospital, because she is opposed to Canadian-style socialized medicine. Shouldn't the very idea of a $200.00 per plate dinner in support of the original beneficiaries, St. Peter's Hospital and the Juravinski Cancer Centre, suggest that Ms. Palin might have some valid criticisms of an underfunded health care system?"
Vicki McClure Davidson:
"How anyone can actually hate this incredible, classy woman is simply mind-blowing. Sarah is no typical politician… she has definitely made 2009 far more interesting and hopeful. Through her continued conservative, patriotic efforts, 2010 should prove to be even more so. God bless you, Sarah."
David Forsmark:
"It’s really hard to make the case that Levi Johnston is any more outrageous sleazy or less personally credible than Keith Olbermann. Each takes pleasure in using the troubles of a teenager for personal gain and out of sheer spite. In short, Levi Johnston and Keith Olbermann are made for each other."
Dan Riehl:
"Given what we have seen and know as regards Levi Johnston, one has to wonder about his motivations in wanting to retain partial custody of Tripp. Somehow, I'm thinking the more difficult aspects of parenting aren't his forte. So, how much will it take for him to go away? Or does he see custody as a permanent cash cow of some kind? The new truck he bought can only last so long, after all."
Stacy McCain:
"If Bristol gets custody, will the judge be investigated for homophobic bias? After all, Levi is so proud to be a gay icon."
Erik Wong:
"So the Palins, in the interest of the well being of a one year old baby, understandably requested that the MSM respect their privacy and not turn their child custody battle into a media circus, and what does MSNBC go and do? Turn it into a media circus. Not only that, but the request to keep the trial closed was formally denied by a Superior Court judge. What the hell was the judge thinking?"
Joe Barron:
"Another knock on Palin is she lacks foreign policy experience. Barack Obama's 151 days in the Senate does not qualify as foreign policy expertise. Palin loves and is proud of our country and would not go around the world apologizing and denigrating the United States to make herself look good to people in countries that don't like the United States anyway. Palin's common sense approach to problem solving is just what this country needs."
Glynnis MacNicol:
"Van Halen famously demanded all the brown M&M’s be removed from their dressing rooms. Anyway, you will be happy... to hear that Sarah Palin invokes no such demands in her Going Rogue rider. Beyond the banning of four bloggers — Todd’s working the door when it comes to them — it’s fairly straightforward and mostly aimed at easing the experience for fans."
hogan:
"Say what you want about Sarah Palin - but it’s hard not to like someone who, with respect to David Brooks, says to Bill O’Reilly, '...whoever that dude is - Brooks out there - still calling me a whatever.'"
William Jacobson:
"TMZ fell for a hoax regarding a supposed photo of JFK on a boat with lots of naked women. Before the hoax was revealed, Andrew Sullivan authored a post on the subject, which has been pulled completely... From the supposed TMZ 'proof' Sullivan drew all sorts of wacky sociological conclusions... Now if Sarah Palin had done something like this, can you imagine Sullivan's howls of cover-up?"
Tim Graham:
"CNN's public-relations ploy to declare itself the serious and substantive non-ideological middle between MSNBC and Fox clearly fails when CNN decides to review the year... and they let old ABC veterans write a snarky liberal script. By saying of Palin's book 'Facts? Who needs them?' Tom Foreman not only insulted Palin... he insulted Palin fans as idiots... And this guy handed out 'Worst Cheap Shot' to someone else?"
Kara Miller:
"Normally, I devote little energy to Palin, a politician I disagree with on just about every issue. But, during the past two weeks finding myself caught in a maelstrom I have begun to warm to the former beauty queen... I cast my mind back to... the avalanche of awful and awesome comments she encountered during the campaign. Some of those awful comments, I'm sure, came from me. And yet Palin marched forward, smiling, undeterred even if she felt like crap."
Don Surber:
"Republicans need to embrace their inner Sarah Palin. Like it or not, she is likely the party’s nominee in 2012. A century earlier, the party spurned another moose-hunting reformer and lost the presidency. Prudent people don’t make the same mistake twice."
Red, White & Conservative:
"All-in-all I’d call it a pretty good year for Sarah Palin, despite what the media tries to tell you, she is and will be a force in the conservative movement for quite some time. Look at it this way; name one other politician or public figure that can impact the debate on a national issue just from a simple Facebook note? Yeah, that’s what I thought."

  1. I admit, Vicki's my favorite. She rocks. Stacy's great, too, but he really needs to get that flesh off his blog. It's embarrassing.

I'm comforted by the support of others who recognize Sarah Palin deserves a level playing field.
