Sarah Palin closes the polling gap with Obama

*
Ed Morrissey reports:
After fifteen months of blowing out Republican challengers, Barack Obama suddenly has fallen into dead heats with just about all of them, including Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich. Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee both slightly outpace Obama in the latest
Public Policy Polling survey:
Sarah Palin now lags Obama only 45-47 after showing deficits of eight or seven points in each of the last three months. Both Obama and Palin have increased their base support, but Palin now trails Obama among independents 39-46 versus 35-49 in March.
Note... the big improvement in Palin’s numbers. She may trail, but that’s well within the margin of error. She closed the gap quickly, and it appears to have coincided with the passage of ObamaCare.
PPP's survey of 622 registered voters was conducted from April 9th to 11th. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.9 percent.

  1. The PPP poll only talked to 622 registered voters, a pretty paltry sample. That is born out in the margin of error, which is almost 4%. I expect that PPP's polling will continue to show improvements in Sarah's numbers vs. Obama. Just wait until summer when the July 4th Tea Parties happen. Sarah will have had three months to continue to make news. Barack Obama is destined to disappoint over that same time frame.
