Rep. Michele Bachmann on the Mike Gallagher Show recently:
Gallagher: "There's a handful of politicians -- notably women -- you know, and you'd think that some of your fellow female colleagues would be proud of people like Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin and others who have achieved a level of national prominence, and yet they want to eviscerate you."
Bachmann: "They didn't want Miguel Estrada as a Supreme court justice because it was a Republican making that nomination. They wanted to be first. And I think also with women politicians, they want to make sure no women, no woman becomes president before a Democrat woman, and so they’re doing everything they can to, I think, sabotage women like Sarah Palin, perhaps women like myself, or similarly situated women, to make sure that we don’t have a prominent national voice. But the thing is, the people in our country, they don’t care who the voice is, they just want someone, they want to know that someone is speaking out for them against what will certainly bring about the destruction of our great country if we continue to go down the Obama path."

What continues to frustrate me to no end is the fact that Mike and Michele seemed surprised by this intense opposition from the left. What do they expect? And they seem to think these lefties are their only opposition. All the while there remains plenty of "intense" opposition to true conservatives inside the GOP. Good conservative leaders (FDT and D.Hunter) continue to get blind sided because they forget about this aspect of the opposition. Hence, once the battle begins they're being out flanked resulting in their defeat. IMHO that's how we ended up w/McCain '08. Bachmann needs to go into this thing with eyes wide open. Cease w/the narrow view. If she does then her political career will skyrocket. Same goes for any truly conservative politician. DD
