Palin Enemy Denied Propaganda Opportunity

-By Warner Todd Huston

Oopsie. Palin smear artist Joe McGinnis was denied his chance to make a mockery of the Palin diner auction when the good Guv nixed his ebay bid last week, sources say.

The New York Daily News reports that smear writer McGinnis, who is writing an unauthorized "biography" attacking Governor Palin, tried to top the winning $60,101.01 ebay bid for the dinner with Palin but the bid was voided by Palin herself.
Palin reserved the right to refuse bidders who failed to meet "standards of suitability, professionalism, background and other factors."
Good for her. This smear merchant was denied a chance to put himself in the news by snagging this dinner with Palin. McGinnis was denied his shot at propaganda and self aggrandizement.

There is another reason why this denial of the smear writer is a good thing. His taking dinner with the governor would have overshadowed the charity for which the dinner was planned. Certainly the news would have focussed on McGinnis' blather and the clash between he and Palin and the great charity that the dinner was to benefit would have been forgotten.

That charity, by the way, is Ride2Recovery a great cause that helps our wounded military veterans recover their health and dignity.

  1. But JP and Warner, the fact that they got the winning bid wrong - 60,000 vs 63,500 - why should we believe the rest of the article?

I think McGinnis is propagandizing for his new hit-book on Palin - and the predictable outlets, such as AK loon bloggers and the NYDN - went for it lock, stock, and barrel.

Let's not us go for it, too ...

Author Joe McGinnis wins meal with Sarah Palin - but ex-Alaska gov disqualifies him

Ummm you can't win if you are disqualified. But I also think he didn't have that much more money to bid.

McGinniss also killed his shot when he emailed the Alaska Dispatch and told them.

I have one thing to say.

    WHAT AN IDIOT!

  3. It should be noted that the article says the winning bid was $60,101, when in fact the winning bid was $63,500. This "news" also came from the Huffington Post, supposedly written by Alaskamuckracker, the pen name of Jeanne Devon of Mudflats, hardly reliable sources. It is most likely just an attempt by them and McGinnis to try to tarnish the fact that Palin raised $63,500 for a good cause.

  4. And his email the the paper proves he was looking for a propaganda effort, too.
