"There is nothing that she has done that leads me to believe she will seek reelection. If you’re Palin, once you’ve flown first class, you don’t go back to coach. She’s been to the show and certainly seemed to like it there."
"We don’t think she’s running," said a Washington-based Democratic operative who is closely watching the gubernatorial race."[There is a] 50-50 chance she runs for governor," said a former Palin staffer involved in state Republican politics, noting, "If Sarah Palin has proven anything in her career, it’s that she is full of surprises."
"What I’m trying to get done for Alaska right now is to get that Alaska gas line built," she said. "We need those energy sources flowing through North America. That’s what my focus is."
"Whether you want to call it running for president or not, she’s doing it," said the former Palin staffer. "If she runs for governor, though, she is going to have to answer the question: Are you going to get elected and then take off for Iowa?"
My guess is is that Gov. Palin herself doesn't really know if she's going to run for reelection or run for the nomination or both. A lot has happened in just the last several months, a lot more will happen in the next 12 months. I'm sure the fact that over 20,000 people showed up in Auburn and the highly successful other stops in NY were big boosts in the run for president column. Also, the fact that so many went to bat for her against Letterman. Big heady things. 0bama's declining numbers, if they continue that way, will be a big factor. Gov. Palin also has to decide whether or not to put her family through the wringer, but that may not be a big consideration, since they are put through the wringer constantly anyway. I'd have to go with the comment in the Confluence:"She may as well plan to run for President in 2012 or 2016 – since the asshats won’t leave her alone anyway."http://riverdaughter.wordpress.com/2009/06/17/yet-another-palin-post/
Andy Barr lacks common sense. He states:"If Palin runs, “we will win,” Ruedrich said, adding that he is confident another Republican would win, given the GOP’s 500,000-voter registration advantage."http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0609/24051_Page2.htmlThink. Is that credible? Does Barr know how many people live in Alaska, give or take a million? Does he know how many members of congress Alaska has?On its face, the statistic is wrong. Not close. Laughable. Is the quote accurate? Does the GOP chairman believe that number is right? I don't believe it, but if he does, that would be a story. How many, of all parties and no party, are registered in Alaska? Is it over 500,000? No, it is not.Andy, it isn't hard to check facts, even facts that are facially absurd.http://www.elections.alaska.gov/statistics/turnoutg.htmAndy, maybe if you start checking your facts, you can be accurate enough to become a blogger.Think, Andy. Common sense is still a useful skill.
