Rand Paul has asked Sarah Palin to campaign for him

Rand Paul, a candidate in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Kentucky revealed in an interview Thursday for the Wall Street Journal's Washington Wire blog that his campaign has asked 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin to campaign for him:
Washington Wire: Do you want Sarah Palin to campaign for you?
Paul: We’d love to have her come. We’ve made some overtures to her.
But the son of Texas congressman Ron Paul did not seem too excited about two other potential Republican presidential candidates:
Washington Wire: What about Tim Pawlenty or Mitt Romney?
Paul: I don’t know much about Tim Pawlenty. Romney, there’s a mixture of beliefs there.

  1. Based on what Lisa Graas has posted on that race I hope she stays away from Rand Paul.

  2. NO RAND PAUL!!! I am a Kentuckian. Please don't push Rand Paul. I've talked to his campaign at length and he is NOT pro-life! He invited me to lunch but would not back off his position with me. I blogged about this extensively! He's getting a lot of money from out of state and messing things up for the true Reagan conservative candidate Bill Johnson. If she endorsed him, I'd be shocked and mortified.

  3. I accidentally posted with the wrong Google account. I left the previous comment about Rand Paul and Kentucky.

  4. We're not pushing Rand Paul, Lisa. We're simply pushing back at the leftists and their media narrative that Sarah Palin couldn't find Republicans that want her to campaign for her.

We also posted an item about Mark Kirk seeking her endorsement in Illinois, and I'm certainly not pushing Kirk.

This blog is about getting positive news and information out on Sarah Palin. That's what we do.

But we do appreciate your heads up on Rand Paul for those who may not know anything about him.

  5. I like what I've read about Rand Paul - A real fiscal conservative who is planning to introduce legislation for term limits and a balanced budget ammendment (See his website).

He's a real Tea Party candidate and must beat the RINO Trey Grayson. It would be great if he had Sarah's support.

In addition, on his website he clearly states that he's pro-life and recognizes that life beings at conception.

    Rand on Pro-Life Solidarity

Published on 20 October 2009 by David Adams in General News, In The Media

Tuesday October 20, 2009 is Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity in which students at nearly 4000 schools and numerous homeschoolers refrain from speaking for a day to draw attention to those children permanently silenced by the atrocity of abortion.

Participating students observe the day by not speaking and responding to questioners by distributing educational materials and praying for the victims of abortion.

Rand Paul supports the efforts of these students and pledges to do everything in his power as a United States Senator to end abortion.

  7. Thanks, Josh.....but the Rand Paul people will interpret this as though she would actually harbor the notion of endorsing him. With all due respect to the person posting as "John Galt", I have talked personally to Rand Paul myself and I am a Kentucky voter. He refuses to back off his support for the so-called "Sanctity of Life Act" which Judie Brown of American Life League rightly calls "pro-abortion" and not merely "pro-choice". It would be better to vote for the President of NOW than to vote for Rand Paul if you are concerned about abortion. His campaign representative told me that he takes this position because he believes the only purpose for the 14th amendment was to free the slaves and that it doesn't apply to the rest of us. You can defend him all you want, but I got this straight from the campaign. Rand Paul is either pro-abortion (not merely even just pro-choice) or he is the most ignorant person ever when it comes to the Constitution, particularly the 14th amendment. I fully welcome any and all inquiries about this via email and respectfully ask that any person who is not eligible to vote in the state of Kentucky not be pushing for Rand Paul to be MY Senator. Thank you.

  8. Jamika, there is another candidate in the race whom I do hope will get a Palin endorsement. Bill Johnson. http://kentuckybill.com He is a decorated Navy vet, anti-establishment, 100% pro-life, a TRUE defender of the Constitution, and a bona fide Reagan conservative any way you slice it. He is also a graduate of the University of Kentucky (engineering) and earned his MBA from William and Mary. An OUTSTANDING anti-establishment candidate. Also, I would not call Trey Grayson a RINO. He is, however, the hand-picked candidate of the establishment GOP. Bill Johnson is the best candidate in this race.

  9. Lisa, are you sure you are not misunderstanding the Sanctity of Life Act? See http://www.prolifealliance.com/sanctity%20of%20life%20act.html

  10. Okay folks, both sides have weighed in, and I'm cutting off comments on this post. Texas for Sarah Palin is a blog, not a discussion forum. I suggest that any parties who wish to continue the debate, take it to a political forum, please.

This blog is about Sarah Palin. She should be the topic for any discussion. The comments here have clearly gone off topic.

    Thanks,
