SarahPAC Video: 'Mama Grizzlies' (Updated)

*

Thursday on Sarah Palin's Facebook page, the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate's political action committed posted a video which, according to some media write-ups, "smacks of a very early presidential campaign ad." In the video, Gov. Palin warns the beltway establishment to watch out for "mama grizzlies" who are fed up with business as usual in Washington, D.C. and are ready to "get our country back on the right track":
Set against a background of inspirational music and over pictures of Palin working crowds at rallies, the message of the ad, called "Mama Grizzlies," is geared toward women who are unhappy with the current Democratic administration.

"It seems like it's kind of a mom awakening in the last year and a half where women are rising up saying, 'No, we've had enough already,' because moms kinda just know when something is wrong," Palin's voice booms as the image of a middle-aged woman holding a sign that reads, "I'm not the 'Angry Mob' I'm an angry, tax-bled hockey mom" flashes by.

[...]

The ad, which demands "common sense solutions," was paid for by Palin's political action committee and does not mince words when declaring war on the current political situation.

“Look out Washington, cause there’s a whole stampede of pink elephants crossing the line and the E.T.A. for them stampeding through is November 2, 2010," Palin says.
Shock: Philip Rucker reports on the video without a trace of the usual Washington Post anti-Palin snark and spin:
Sarah Palin issued a direct appeal to female independent voters Thursday, releasing a video montage about the conservative women she calls "Mama Grizzlies."

Republican strategists are already praising the video. For a political figure used to an off-the-cuff style, Palin's video has a professional and polished feel that could strengthen and broaden her emotional appeal among female voters. One prominent GOP media consultant described the video as "brilliant," adding: "I wish I'd done it."
Update: The Tennessean's Chas Sisk observes that in the first nine very early-morning hours after it was posted, the Facebook item was "liked" by more than 4,100 and spawned over 400 comments.

  1. This Mama Grizzly in Washington loves this. Sisterhood is one powerful tool. First stop Clint Didiers rally in Clark County on Monday.
