Alan 'Guttershark' Garyson is going down Nov 2

According to a new Sunshine State News poll, Palin-endorsed congressional candidate Daniel Webster is maintaining a firm 7-point lead in Florid's 8th district, well positioned to send "increasingly malodorous" incumbent Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson back to the sewer he slithered out of:

Webster, a former state senator, leads Grayson, D-Orlando, 48-41... In a previous poll, conducted Sept. 25, Webster led Grayson 43-36, an identical 7-point margin.

"Webster has to be the favorite here. Grayson has failed to turn his negative image around, and is still viewed in a negative light by a 55-38 margin," said Jim Lee, president of Voter Survey Service, which conducted both polls. "This means Grayson has very little if any room to grow."

"The key difference in the poll when compared to last time is that Webster is surging with independents, now leading them by a 48-33 margin over Grayson, which is a reversal from a 42-33 Grayson lead in the last poll (a net swing of 24 points)," Lee reported.

Kathy Mears, a spokeswoman for Webster, said, "Although we are being outspent and deluged with some of the most negative and dirtiest ads in the country, we do sense a great deal of support from voters in the district. We trust that our positive message will win the day in Central Florida."

Since the Sunshine State News Poll shows Webster’s margin widening to 11 points among voters who say they are most likely to cast ballots (51-40), Lee projected that the Republican could top 50 percent on election night.

Even though both Webster and Grayson have increased their support in their respective bases (Webster up 7 with Republicans, Grayson up 8), the swing of independents against Grayson could prove to be his undoing.

And the congressman's rising unfavorable rating -- now worse than Obama's -- appears to be downright lethal.

"Grayson’s favorable-unfavorable image is now a staggering negative ratio of 55-30, compared to a negative 47-36 ratio in September, so it’s apparent his TV campaign has completely backfired," Lee said.

Grayson, who apparently suffers from a psychological disorder somewhat akin to Tourette's Syndrome on steroids, has accused Gov. Palin of inciting "zombie minions to take me out, like she was trying to shoot a moose from a helicopter." He went so far as to compare the seriousness of the "death threats" to "John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X," and "John Lennon."

In her rousing speech at the GOP rally in Orlando over the weekend, Gov. Palin referred to Grayson as a jackwagon:

"So many candidates around here running for the right reasons. You've got Rick Scott and Allen West. And you've got Pam Bondi. And Steve Southerland. And you've got Daniel Webster. OK, running against you know who. OK, we've got to stop just for one minute here with this one. The word that comes to mind, jackwagon. For some reason I think of Allen Grayson and jackwagon. Please, for the rest of the country, may that one-term wonder be retired, too. Please vote for Daniel Webster. Veterans for Webster."

Puzzled liberals took to the Web to express their ignorance of Sarah Palin's use of the jackwagon term. It's little wonder the military-hating left does not recognize the word. It's slang coined by U.S. troops to designate a useless person or a piece of equipment that doesn't function properly.

Rep. Jim Moran is a Moron

Democrat Congressman Jim Moran, who represents Virginia's 8th District, doesn’t consider serving in the military to be public service. Here's Moran The Moron at the October 6th meeting of the Arlington County Democratic Committee:

Moran’s opponent happens to be Col. Patrick Murray (US Army-Ret.), who served 24 years in uniform, was deployed to four different combat zones, including Baghdad, as part of the 2007 troop surge under Gen. David Petraeus, and was even shot at by foreign combatants. If that isn’t public service, I don’t know what is.

Paper shuffling in Washington, apparently. And this was not Moran’s only military-related misstep.

On October 11th, the Military Officers Association of America sent a letter to the Moran campaign requesting that the congressman stop distributing a flyer clearly implying that MOAA had endorsed Moran for reelection.

It did not.

So Moran disses his opponent’s military record when he’s with his Democratic pals, then uses – without authorization – the reputation of a military group to help him get reelected. Classy.

We've always known that those on the left are, for the most part, no friends of our military, though the brave men and women who wear the uniform have put their lives on the line for the ingrates countless times. But Congressional liberals rarely allow their resentment of our troops and vets to be publicly witnessed, as Moran did here. It is long past time to retire this ungrateful, unpatriotic wretch.

Politico: Allen West rakes in $1.6M

Retired Army Lt. Col. Allen West announced last week that his congressional campaign against Rep. Ron Klein (D-FL) raised $1.6 million in third-quarter campaign funds, topping his second quarter total of $1.4 million:

The Republican has emerged as a fundraising powerhouse, raking in more than $5.4 million so far for his campaign. Klein, who has yet to announce his third-quarter figures, had raised $2.5 million though Aug. 4. West’s second-quarter takeaway was the highest of any GOP non-incumbent candidate so far.

In a statement announcing his haul, West noted that “over 97 percent of our donations have come from individual contributions." His campaign said the average contribution was about $78.

West has the support of Gov. Palin and the Tea Party movement.

Pearce is actually running for a seat he once held. He represented New Mexico's 2nd CD from 2003 to 2009 and had risen to the leadership position of Assistant Minority Whip in the House. He left that body to run for the U.S. Senate and won the GOP primary, but he lost in the general election to Tom Udall. Then Pearce announced his candidacy for his old seat and easily won the Republican primary.

Pearce is matched against incumbent Democrat Harry Teague in the 2010 general election. The 2nd Congressional District encompasses the entire southern half of New Mexico, including the cities of Las Cruces and Roswell. Both Pearce and Teague are from Hobbs in Lea County.

Poll of Dozen House Districts Shows Dems in Danger

The Hill and America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) commissioned a poll of 12 hotly contested House races, and found that Republican challengers are beating freshman Democrats in 11 of them, with the remaining race tied. Among the dozen congressional districts polled, half are in districts where Sarah Palin has made endorsements, and five are among the "Take Back the 20" House seats targeted by SarahPAC:

Arizona-1 - Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D) vs. Paul Gosar (R)

Kirkpatrick trails her Republican opponent by seven points, receiving 39 percent of the vote to Gosar’s 46, according to The Hill/ANGA poll. Twelve percent of likely voters remain undecided.

Gosar is a favorite of the Tea Party and was backed by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin during the Republican primary.

Colorado-4 - Rep. Betsy Markey (D) vs. Cory Gardner (R)

Markey is behind in this Republican-leaning district by a mere three points — 44 percent to 41, with 14 percent of likely voters undecided, according to The Hill/ANGA poll.

It’s welcome news for Markey given that Republicans have trumpeted internal polling that has her down big.

But she may have difficulty finding new voters to win over. She has 89 percent of the Democrats’ support and is winning independents at 43 percent to Gardner’s 39. She even has a decent amount of Republican support, at 11 percent.

Ohio-16 - Rep. John Boccieri (D) vs. Jim Renacci (R)

Boccieri trails his Republican challenger by just three points — 42 percent to 39 — with 15 percent of likely voters undecided, according to The Hill/ANGA poll.

But dissatisfaction with Congress in this district is high, particularly among independents. Eighty-five percent of independents strongly disapprove of the job Congress is doing.

Even though the race is close, the remaining undecided voters are largely Republican and independent, making it tough for Boccieri to make up much ground. Just 14 percent of remaining undecided voters are Democrats, while 33 percent are Republican and 41 percent independent.

An unusual dynamic in the district is that women, who tend to break for Democrats in general, tend to break for the Republican here; Renacci gets 45 percent of the female vote to Boccieri’s 36.

Pennsylvania-3 - Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (D) vs. Mike Kelly (R)

Dahlkemper trails Kelly by double digits, but there’s a large group of undecided voters who haven’t made up their minds about either candidate.

Kelly is ahead by 13 points — 49 percent to 36 — while 15 percent of likely voters are undecided.

Dahlkemper’s biggest obstacle could be the fact that a majority of her constituents favor repealing the healthcare reform bill, which Dahlkemper supported. Almost 60 percent said they believe the legislation should be repealed.

Undecided voters feel this way by a margin of 45 percent to 33

Virginia-5 - Rep. Tom Perriello (D) vs. Robert Hurt (R)

The Hill/ANGA poll found that Perriello trails Hurt by a single point — 44 percent to 45 — with 9 percent of likely voters undecided.

Perriello still has time to turn it around, but he’ll have to do it with two key groups — women and independents. These groups remain the largest bloc of undecided voters, with 11 percent of women and 13 percent of independents undecided.

Voter enthusiasm could present a problem for Perriello: 80 percent of Republicans say they are “very passionate” about voting, while only 68 percent of Democrats describe themselves that way.

President Obama could be an albatross for his fellow Democrat this cycle. A majority of voters (54 percent) disapprove of the president’s performance and, by a 3-to-1 ratio, respondents said their opinion of Obama will influence their vote this November.

Not among the "Take Back the 20," but a key district in which Gov. Palin made an early endorsement:

Illinois-11 - Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D) vs. Adam Kinzinger (R)

Right now, the outlook for Halvorson appears grim. The Hill/ANGA poll found she trails Kinzinger by 18 points — 49 percent to 31. Another 18 percent of likely voters remain undecided.

Kinzinger also leads among most major demographic groups. He’s ahead by 26 points among male voters and by 11 percent among females, and leads in all age groups by 10 points or more. Kinzinger also holds a wide lead with independent voters — 53 percent to 24.

Undecided voters lean toward the right; 27 percent described themselves as Republicans compared to 16 percent who said they are Democrats.

Doug Hoffman drops out of NY-23 race; endorses Matt Doheny

Remember Doug Hoffman, the Republican who ran on the Conservative Party ticket in last year's special election in NY-23 against Democrat Bill Owens and Vichy Republican Dede Scozzafava? Hoffman was supported by Sarah Palin and conservative groups such as the Club for Growth and the Tea Party. Had the traitorous Scozzafava not dropped out of the race the weekend before the election and endorsed Owens, Hoffman would have likely won.

Fast forward to this year's race in the same district, and watch Hoffman give an object lesson in what it means to have "class":

Doug Hoffman has dropped out of the race to represent New York's 23rd Congressional District.

Hoffman's name will still appear on the ballot on the Conservative line; however, Hoffman said Tuesday morning that he wants his supporters to vote for Republican Matt Doheny.

"Our nation is at a crossroads, and it is imperative that on Election Day we wrest control of Congress from Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat majority," Hoffman said in a prepared statement. "It was never my intention to split the Republican vote."

Hoffman, a certified public accountant and businessman who lives in Saranac Lake, ran against Doheny in a Republican primary.

Now, Hoffman has decided to back Doheny.

"Matt Doheny and I may have differed on some issues during the course of our primary race," Hoffman said. "Now, we must put those differences aside and do what is best for our nation."

"My reaction is, Doug has done the right and noble thing," said Mark Barie, chairman of the Upstate New York Tea Party, when informed of Doug Hoffman's decision. "By suspending his campaign, he is giving Matt Doheny a clear shot at the incumbent, Mr. Owens, and increased the likelihood that Matt Doheny will be victorious on Nov. 2."

"This had to be a difficult decision for Doug," Barie said. "He earned the right to be our next congressman. But for a poor choice of campaign staff, he might well have been our next congressman. I don't blame Doug for that, I blame his staff still. I compliment him on a wise choice that had to be painful, but a wise choice nonetheless."

Attention Vichy Republicans Lisa Murkowski, Charlie Crist, et al. This is how it is done.

"Grayson's twisted campaign ad adds to 'media distrust' problem;he blatantly lies in vile rant,but greedy media run it anyway w/no fact check"

This is as close to a formal endorsement of Webster as she could possibly come, in our opinion. Will she make it "official" with a Webster endorsement via Facebook, or is the support the governor expressed for Webster via Twitter "official enough?" Stay tuned...

Phoenix Business Journal: Gov. Palin going after Arizona Dems

The Phoenix Business Journal observes that three of Sarah Palin's targeted "Take Back the 20" Congressional seats are currently held by Arizona Democrats:

Palin is urging her supporters to get behind David Schweikert, Paul Gosar and Jesse Kelly in their bids against U.S. Reps. Harry Mitchell of Tempe, Ann Kirkpatrick of Flagstaff and Gabrielle Giffords of Tucson.

Palin has targeted 20 races nationwide where she wants to help Republican challengers.

The three Arizona races could be indicators of how well Republicans are doing nationally in a year when Democrats and President Barack Obama could face voters’ wrath over the economy and housing. Real Clear Politics lists the trio of Arizona contests as toss-ups in November.

The Journal notes that the DCCC, in response, is asking Democrats to contribute to candidates in the districts targeted by the governor.

Good. Keep 'em on defense, and make 'em spend their money there.

Newsmax's Ruddy may be behind rumored Palin Palm Beach dinner appearance

We wondered back in June, when Sarah Palin was introduced to Newsmax founder and CEO Christopher Ruddy at the Belmont Stakes, whether there was any truth to the report that Gov. Palin was overheard telling Ruddy that she planned to visit West Palm Beach a couple of weeks before the November midterm elections. Since that area of Florida includes the 22nd Congressional District, it seemed to us a perfect opportunity for Mama Grizzly to campaign for the candidate she endorsed in that race, retired Army Lt. Col. Allen West. The colonel is in a tight race with incumbent Democrat Ron Klein. Both campaigns have cited internal polls which each claims shows its candidate in the lead by 8 points.

A few days ago, the Crowley Political Report declared that Gov. Palin will attend a dinner at The Breakers in Palm Beach next month (unconfirmed as yet), supposedly timed to compliment her Oct. 6 Miami appearance for The Liberty and Freedom Foundation. The Breakers Bash, according to Crowley, is "bound to be a hot and very exclusive ticket." Sure sounds like a fundraiser to us, one which would raise some serious cash for Col. West for his campaign's home stretch. Also, a Southeast Florida rally with Col West and Gov. Palin on the same stage could really help to shake up the district 22 race, a contest which appears to need some shaking up. If this is the plan, it could have a very positive impact for West.

One other seed which may have been planted at the Palin-Ruddy meeting at Belmont has blossomed into the special Newsmax Webcast interview of the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate scheduled for October 12.

Serial Palin-basher Rep. Alan Grayson steps in it in Florida

It was just a matter of time before moonbat Alan Grayson cooked his own goose. The volatile Florida Congressman, who spent a little time in a mental institution in the 1980s, has fallen behind in his race against Republican Daniel Webster in FL-08 and now appears likely to lose his seat in the U.S. House.

Hot Air's Ed Morrissey points out that this poll was taken mostly before the impact of Grayson's incredibly boneheaded and loathsome "Taliban Dan" campaign ad could be measured, so look for him to fall even further from grace. Even Contessa Brewer found the ad to be invidious. Face it, when you're an extreme leftist Dem and you lose MSDNC, you're in some seriously deep guano.

Grayson is the source of some of the most abominable smears ever made against Sarah Palin. Why did he go all hysterical on the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate? She had the temerity to campaign against him in his district, which is par for the course in politics. But what was downright pathological was the viciousness with which Grayson attacked Gov. Palin. His response to her Reaganesque use of humor was unmeasured and over the top.

Back in March, Ian Lazaran predicted that Grayson's mouth, which was already located below the belt, would bite the crazy Congressman on the backside as the date of the midterm election drew near:

"In any event, the real response to Grayson will come this November."

Indeed it will.

Meanwhile, Sarah Palin, who has been known to forgive but never forget, commented via Twitter:

FL's Daniel Webster - keep moving forward w/positive,strong,sharp message of truth! (As opposed to opponent who disgraced himself w/that ad)

Florida's 8th, though not one of SarahPAC's "Take Back the 20" Congressional Districts, still has to rank high on the governor's To Do list. Watch your six, Congressman. She's reloading.

Spike Maynard on his ensorsement by Gov. Palin

Don Surber writes that even though Spike used to be a Democrat (we're in good company), he "was conservative when conservative was not cool." In a press release issued by his campaign, Maynard commented on Sarah Palin's recent endorsement of his candidacy:

Spike Maynard is the Republican running in the 3rd Congressional District of West Virginia. Maynard is a former West Virginia State Supreme Court Justice and trial judge from Mingo County. Maynard is an Air Force veteran, where he served in reconnaissance during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his honorable discharge, Maynard was the Managing Director of the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce and practiced law. In 1976, Maynard was elected as a Prosecuting Attorney for Mingo County. He was appointed by Governor Rockefeller to the Thirtieth Judicial Circuit and was twice elected to that circuit. His legal experience saw him elected to the Supreme Court of Appeals, where he served as Chief Justice in 2000, 2004 and 2008.

Broden's opponent is incumbent Democrat Eddie Bernice Johnson of Dallas. The Dallas Morning News revealed earlier this month that the Congresswoman awarded at least 23 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation scholarships to her relatives and the children of a top staffer – in violation of the foundation's nepotism and residency rules. Rep. Johnson also apparently asked the Foundation to send scholarship checks directly to her two grandsons and two great-nephews, rather than to their colleges.

Red-handed: Pelosi, Obama staffers caught at 'Nazi protest' against Kinzinger (Updated)

A staffer for Obama’s Organizing for America and one of Nancy Pelosi's aides have been caught red-handed taking part in an Illinois protest against Congressional candidate Adam Kinzinger where demonstrators carried signs with pictures of Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck depicted as Hitler.

After their demonstration, the protesters returned to Rep. Debbie Halvorson‘s office, where the protest was apparently organized. Jim Hoft has the story and the damning video (which we predict is destined to go viral) at Gateway Pundit.

Kinzinger, who was endorsed by Gov. Palin, issued a press release in which he demanded that Halvorson answer a number of questions about the obvious connection between her campaign and the demonstrators.

WNYC: Palin’s Candidate in Staten Island Wins

The candidate Sarah Palin endorsed in the GOP primary in New York's 13th district of Staten Island, Michael Grimm, has defeated his opponent Michael Allegretti by an overwhelming margin:

Grimm, who was also backed by Rudy Giuliani, was a former FBI agent and Marine veteran. He was criticized for raising a lot of money outside the district, and not having lived there as long as Allegretti, whose family ran a local business on the Brooklyn side of the district.

Grimm will take on freshman Rep. Michael McMahon, a moderate Democrat who has the backing of the Conservative Party and who voted against Obama’s health care policy.

McMahon came under criticism earlier when a campaign aide distributed to a reporter documents that described how much money Grimm raised outside the district, labeling one category as “Jewish money.” The campaign aide was fired and McMahon apologized.

With 63 percent of the precincts reporting, Grimm had an impressive 66.5 percent of the vote to Allegretti's 33.5 percent.
