OHIO’S ISSUE 2
As a proud former union member and the wife, daughter, and sister of union members, I’m encouraging you to learn the facts about Issue 2 in Ohio. To the hard working, patriotic, selfless union brothers and sisters in Ohio and throughout our country: I believe that Issue 2 is needed reform. It will help restore fairness to Ohio taxpayers and help balance the budget.
As a former card-carrying IBEW sister married to a proud former Laborers, IBEW, and later USW member, I’m encouraging Ohioans to vote YES on Issue 2. Get the facts at www.BetterOhio.org.
KENTUCKY’S TODD P’POOL FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL
Todd P’Pool is a new conservative leader for Kentucky. Todd is a dedicated public servant in Hopkins County and a community leader focused on building a better future for Kentucky. We can count on Todd P’Pool as Attorney General to stand up and defend our Constitution, to take on the entrenched special interests, fight against Obamacare, and stop Obama’s EPA from destroying jobs.

IBD Editors: Palin's Vindication
The lesson: When Mama Grizzly roars, maybe the Beltway know-it-alls should listen.
*
The editors at Investor's Business Daily recall how the GOP establishment and some conservatives among the punditocracy ridiculed Gov. Palin for endorsing and supporting such Tea Party challengers as Christine O'Donnell, Joe Miller and Sharron Angle. Yes, all three were less polished than their establishment opponents. A look at some recent voting on the hill, however, vindicates the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate and her 2010 choices:

A look at some recent voting on the hill, however, vindicates the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate and her 2010 choices:
Well, guess who just voted with the House of Representatives' lame-duck Democratic majority to ignore military concerns and repeal "don't ask, don't tell"? "Republican" Mike Castle did.- JP
Guess who just voted for the Dream Act, which would have granted amnesty and instant eligibility for welfare and government education benefits to millions of illegal aliens, costing the taxpayers tens of billions of dollars? "Republican" Mike Castle did.
Charles Krauthammer, a national treasure among syndicated columnists and IBD regular, seriously questioned Palin's judgment in backing O'Donnell. "Castle voted against ObamaCare and the stimulus," Krauthammer noted in September. "Yes, he voted for cap-and-trade. That's batting .667."
But having lost both the Senate nomination and his House seat — won in November by Democratic former Lt. Gov. John Carney — the lame-duck session is lowering Castle's batting average.
It's clear that whatever eccentricities O'Donnell exhibited, none would have compelled her to vote for either of these appalling bills. Or for the half-baked New START nuclear disarmament treaty that the Obama administration is demanding the Senate blindly ratify without fully knowing what it would do, absurdly claiming that our national security lies in the balance.

Julie Hirschfeld Davis of The Associated Press:
Julie Hirschfeld Davis of The Associated Press:
"Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Tim Scott of South Carolina, who won endorsements by Sarah Palin and support from tea party activists, are part of a 22-member team charged with crafting new rules and smoothing the GOP's shift from minority to majority... Two other freshmen, Cory Gardner of Colorado and Martha Roby of Alabama [both endorsed by Gov. Palin], are also on the roster."- JP

Jedediah Bila: The Palin Effect in the 2010 Elections

In her Human Events column, Jedidiah Bila considers the question, "Did Palin-endorsed mama grizzlies roar?" Some won, some lost, and the governor's overall batting average will remain very high, even if the remaining undecided races don't turn out as desired.

In her Human Events column, Jedidiah Bila considers the question, "Did Palin-endorsed mama grizzlies roar?" Some won, some lost, and the governor's overall batting average will remain very high, even if the remaining undecided races don't turn out as desired.
The “radical” portrait that has been painted of Palin by the left-wing media lives on in many places, particularly in heavily blue states like California and Delaware. I assure you that Palin Derangement Syndrome is alive and well in Manhattan. The author makes the salient observation that even Mediaite, CBS, and NBC, none of which can be described as having a favorable attitude toward the first woman to be both Alask's governor and the GOP's vice presidential candidate, all had to admit that Mama Bear had a great night. and that, Bila says, "just may be one for the books."
Some have argued that even without the “radical” epithet, the fact that Palin is a true conservative—both fiscally and socially—can be a tough sell in heavily blue states. They have opined that her endorsement of Republicans in states where many consider Arnold Schwarzenegger to be conservative, may not have been perceived well by many in those states.
Reality check: Palin’s endorsements aren’t geared toward America’s hard left. They’re meant to rally conservatives, Republicans, and Independents—be they in typically red or blue states. They won’t always yield victory, particularly in America’s deep blue regions, but you just never know. It is noteworthy that her endorsements of Susana Martinez in blue-leaning NM and Kelly Ayotte in blue-leaning NH certainly lent a hand to their successes.
In ordinarily red states and/or districts—and with respect to the GOP primary—there’s no doubt that Palin’s endorsements helped put candidates like Nikki Haley, Rand Paul, and NY–13’s Michael Grimm on the national map, playing a role in their victories.
On another note, Palin has been willing to get behind candidates far from shoo-in status, including the likes of Christine O’Donnell, John Gomez, Sharron Angle, Sean Bielat, John Raese, and Joe Miller. She appears to base her endorsements upon which candidates she believes are standing on principled conservative ground, rather than upon whether or not they’re considered to be “sure winners.” That will undoubtedly yield a results map that features some losses.
Much like her decision to resign from the governorship after facing a slew of bogus, costly ethics charges, Palin’s choice of endorsements doesn’t appear to be based on what will or won’t preserve her political future. Rather, it seems to be based on her principles..."

Corrupt media spins Gov. Palin's endorsements (Updated)
*
Not all of the biggest winners in this year's general election were candidates running for public office. Those running who had Gov. Palin's endorsement did very well indeed, but you would never know it if you get your news from the mainstream media. Not only did crack reporters not do their research, some of them appear to have the math skills of a two-year old.
NBC Montana came closer to getting it right than others, as it named our favorite Mama Bear as one of the five big winners in Tuesday's elections:
Next up, Shushannah Walshe. While Walshe may be regarded by the media establishment as an authoritative figure, she doesn't do too well with numbers:
Also, we have a story which falls into the Big Lie category by Aliyah Shahid, a staff writer for DNC stenographer rag NY Daily News:
The truth is Palin-endorsed national candidates (there were 94 of them in the general election) have won 60 and lost 29, with 5 races undecided. Of the decided races, she has a winning percentage of 67.4% so far. That's over two-thirds of the candidates she has endorsed. Even were her endorsed candidates to lose the remaining nine undecided contests, she would still have a winning percentage of 63.8, or better than three out of five. Not bad at all, especially considering all of the underdogs and long shot candidates the governor endorsed in these races. Notice that no one in the media is talking about any other political figure's endorsements and how they fared in the midterms. That speaks volumes in itself.
Updates...
The DailyBleat Beast has changed the Walshe piece to read "49 of her 77 candidates triumphed" without acknowledging the typo - but the numbers are still wrong. 60 of the 94 candidates Gov. Palin endorsed have won, with 8 races still to be called.
The Caucus blog at the NY Times also focused on the losers, rather than the larger number of winners, backed by Gov. Palin. But Michael Shear, who wrote the post, had to admit:

NBC Montana came closer to getting it right than others, as it named our favorite Mama Bear as one of the five big winners in Tuesday's elections:
Not all of the candidates Sarah Palin threw her support behind won election, but enough were victorious to reflect well on the former vice presidential candidate.More important than her won-loss record, the 2008 vice presidential candidate helped to "energize the Republican Party on its way to a historic wave of success," says the author.
Of the 54 candidates across congressional, gubernatorial and other state races Palin supported who faced primaries, 42 won. Combined with the candidates she backed who did not face primaries, that left 49 candidates for the 2010 midterms. Of those, 28 candidates won, 15 lost and six races were still undecided by early Wednesday morning.
Next up, Shushannah Walshe. While Walshe may be regarded by the media establishment as an authoritative figure, she doesn't do too well with numbers:
Palin will point to a positive win-loss record—98 of her 77 candidates triumphed, (6 races had yet to be called by Wednesday morning.) But many of the highest-profile races, where she had loudly interjected herself, her candidates—Sharron Angle in Nevada, Christine O'Donnell in Delaware, and John Raese in West Virginia—lost.98 of 77? Walshe gives the governor credit for having more candidates win than she actually endorsed, which is quite an accomplishment. But her piece focuses on those who lost, which is typical of The Daily Beast, which should change its name to The Daily Least.
Also, we have a story which falls into the Big Lie category by Aliyah Shahid, a staff writer for DNC stenographer rag NY Daily News:
"Overall, just 27, or 45% of the candidates Palin endorsed have won so far."We're not sure what body cavity Shahid pulled those numbers from, because more than twice that number endorsed by Gov. Palin have actually won. The rest of this hit piece is just as disingenuous and snarky, proving once again that when the lamestream, drive-by media doesn't like the facts, it simply makes things up instead.
The truth is Palin-endorsed national candidates (there were 94 of them in the general election) have won 60 and lost 29, with 5 races undecided. The Daily
The Caucus blog at the NY Times also focused on the losers, rather than the larger number of winners, backed by Gov. Palin. But Michael Shear, who wrote the post, had to admit:
If former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska decides to run for president in 2012, she will now have plenty of help. But, on the positive side, CBS News published a surprisingly fair, if not quite accurate, report:
[...]
Still, as potential 2012 presidential contenders begin lining up support and cashing in chits, Ms. Palin will have plenty of places to look for support. In addition to the Senate and governors’ races, there are dozens of lesser-known House candidates who had earned her blessing.
Most of the candidates Sarah Palin endorsed chalked up victories Tuesday.Actually, Gov. Palin endorsed 72 Congressional candidates, 42 of whom won, with 5 races still undecided.
And that scorecard leaves pundits wondering whether she'll now train her sights directly on the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.
As CBS News Correspondent Jeff Glor reports, .the former GOP vice presidential nominee backed 43 candidates for the House. Thirty of them won, with races involving nine others still undecided.
Her record in Senate races was closer: She endorsed 12 candidates. Seven won.
Though it's been 15 months since Palin stepped down as Alaska governor, she was very much in this election, stumping for candidates across the country, skewering President Obama at every turn.
"My observation of Sarah Palin," says CBS News political analyst Nicolle Wallace, "is that she is one of the shrewdest political figures in our country at this moment. She's also one of the most electric."
Add Ed Carson at IBD's Capital Hill blog to the list of media types who who are factually-challenged:
"Meanwhile, Sarah Palin’s presidential ambitions took a hit. The defeats of Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, Ken Buck and possibly Joe Miller — all races that were eminently winnable in a GOP year — show that activist zeal alone can’t push polarizing candidates to victory."Just a couple of problems with that paragraph, Ed. First of all, Sarah Palin never endorsed Ken Buck. Secondly, a number of "polarizing" candidates Gov. Palin endorsed -- including, but certainly not limited to, Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Marco Rubio, Allen West, Nikki Haley and John Boozman -- cruised to victory last night.

"In politics, part of being able to support other people of your party in your election endeavor is a way you build your network and you build power. [Sarah Palin is] basically building a lot of clout within the party. She can raise money, she can turn out crowds. People read into her the ability to impact an election."- JP

Sarah Palin: Sprint to the Finish with More Good Candidates

Sprint to the Finish with More Good Candidates
With just eight days left before Election Day, it’s time to sprint through the finish line. Here are more commonsense conservative candidates who are determined to get our country back on track.
Dick Muri for Washington’s 9th Congressional District
I met Dick Muri recently and am proud to endorse his campaign for Congress. Dick is a proven leader. He’s a devoted member of his community and a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel who first earned his navigator wings in 1976. Dick will be an fresh, independent voice in Congress, unlike his opponent who votes with Speaker Pelosi and other Democrat leaders over 96% of the time. Please join me in supporting Dick Muri by visiting his website at www.dickmuri.com and following him on Facebook and Twitter.
Rob Steele for Michigan's 15th Congressional District
Dr. Rob Steele is challenging the longest-serving member of the House, and he needs your help. Dr. Steele is right on the issues – he’s committed to reduced spending, lower taxes, and commonsense Constitutional principles; and he’s right for Michigan – an NRA-member and avid sportsman, father, and community leader. After 55 years, it’s time for new leadership for Michigan. Please visit Dr. Steele’s website at www.robsteeleforcongress.com and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
Ilario Pantano for North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District
Ilario Pantano is another dedicated patriot running for Congress this year. Ilario first swore an oath to defend the Constitution as a 17-year-old Marine. Today, he needs your help to bring common sense back to Washington. The Republicans have carried this congressional district in the last three presidential elections (including ’08), but the current representative votes with Pelosi and the Democrats 90% of the time. We can win this seat and send a decorated Marine to Congress who will be a strong voice for veterans and active-duty military. Please visit Ilario Pantano’s website at www.pantanoforcongress.net and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
Chuck Wilkerson for California’s 30th Congressional District
I’m proud to endorse another Marine, Chuck Wilkerson in California. Chuck is making his first run for public office, and he’s doing it for all the right reasons. He’ll fight to keep taxes low and control spending, and he’ll be another strong voice for veterans. His opponent is the 35-year incumbent and cap-and-tax crusader Henry Waxman. Please visit Chuck Wilkerson’s website at www.chuckwilkerson4congress.com and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
November 2nd is just around the corner. Let’s get behind these good candidates.

Sarah Palin: Four more great candidates to support this November

On Facebook, Gov. Palin made four new endorsements Thursday:
More Great Candidates to Support this November- JP
Here are some more great commonsense candidates whose races we need to support as we approach November 2nd.
Butch Otter for Governor of Idaho
As a proud Vandal grad who was born in Idaho and still has plenty of Idaho family roots, I'm honored to endorse Butch Otter for governor of the Gem State. Whether serving in Congress or the Governor’s office, Butch has been a voice for commonsense conservatism. He’s been a strong advocate for fiscal discipline and energy independence. As Governor of Alaska, it was a pleasure working with Butch as both our states bucked a growing federal government power grab in disregard of the Tenth Amendment. Butch has served Idaho with distinction as Governor, and Idaho can’t go wrong re-electing him this November. Please visit his website at www.otterforidaho.com and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
Sean Bielat for Massachusetts’ 4th Congressional District
Remember what it was like in January 2010 when Massachusetts shocked the political world? It’s that time again. Sean Beilat is running against a Democrat incumbent who has been in government office for over 30 years. Sean is a businessman, Marine veteran, and young father, and he is running against an ethically-challenged liberal icon who opposed reform of Fannie & Freddie before the meltdown. That’s right, Sean Bielat is running against Barney Frank, and he needs your help to win. Please visit Sean’s website at www.seanbielat.org and follow him on Twitter.
Stephen Fincher for Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District
Stephen Fincher is not a politician. He’s a farmer, business man, gospel singer, and a true patriot from Frog Jump (pop. 400) in West Tennessee. He’s a conservative committed to limited government, lower taxes, and job creation. Please visit Stephen’s website at www.stephenfincher.org and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
Randy Hultgren for Illinois’ 14th Congressional District
Want to send a message about President Obama’s out-of-touch agenda? Let’s win some seats in his backyard. As an accomplished businessman and father of four, Randy Hultgren is committed to fighting for lower taxes and constitutional principles to get our country back on track. We can count on Randy to stand up for Illinois families and bring real accountability to Washington. Please visit Randy’s website at www.hultgrenforcongress.com and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
November is just around the corner!

Poll Watch: October 21, 2010 (Updated)
*
With less than two weeks to go until election day, here are some new poll numbers of interest in races where Gov. Palin has made endorsements and/or SarahPAC has contributed:
A Mason-Dixon Poll in Kentucky shows Rand Paul (R) with a 5-point lead over Jack Conway (D) in that state's U.S. Senate race.
