Gov. Palin: 'Pres Obama, you're losing our future'

A free market economy cannot support a socialist welfare state

Sarah Palin tweeted today:
Pres Obama: you're losing our future. No
more pretending "with ever more manic
protestations" that this could continue
The article she linked to in her tweet is the same Janet Daley op-ed we linked to this morning as a related item in this post.

Gov. Palin to President Obama: Woman Up and Lead!

"How about a balanced budget amendment?"
*
Barack Obama today urged people to tweet GOP Congressmen and tell them to "compromise." Sarah Palin figured the president could use some tweets himself, and got busy with her Blackberry, chiding him for his scaremongering:
you're wrong, threatening to throw seniors under the bus because you refuse to prioritize govt spending.Time to & lead
Just minutes earlier, Gov. Palin had tweeted that if the president really wants a balanced deficit solution, he should drop his opposition to a balanced budget amendment:
wants us to contact Congress. Great idea! Tell them to rein in our dangerously unsustainable debt to protect our credit rating.

Herman Cain to Palin Camp: Let's talk

Birds of a feather...
*
Here's an intriguing tweet from NRO's Robert Costa:
Herman Cain tells me that he is contacting Sarah Palin's camp. "We are reaching out," he says.
Now what could the Herminator and The Cuda possibly have to talk about? Plenty of things, most likely. Gov. Palin had words of praise for Cain in her interview (at about the 7:35 mark) with Judge Jeanine Pirro over the weekend. Cain was appreciative in February when the governor linked to one of his op-eds.

The two share very similar political views, and both have felt the sting of the Gotcha Obamunist Media. But if Mr. Cain is seeking the governor's endorsement, it's probably much too early for that, and besides, Sarah Palin may have some political plans of her own for 2012. But birds of a feather must stick together, especially when both have targets pinned on them by the corrupt media.

Gov. Palin remembers Israel's Independence Day

Silence my enemies... for I am your servant.
*
Sarah Palin remembered Israel's 63rd Independence Day Saturday via Twitter, calling for peace and prosperity in Jerusalem:
"May 14, 1948 Jewish independence in their homeland called Israel! May Jerusalem be peaceful & prosperous; may our ally's enemies be silent"
In a reference to Psalm 143:12, she also called for Israel's enemies to "be silent." That verse of the Psalm, a warrior's prayer, is translated in the NIV version of The Bible as:
"In your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant."

Gov Palin to Obama: Release the photo

"... as a warning to others seeking America's destruction"
*
Sarah Palin disagrees with the Obama Administration's decision not to release a photograph of Osama Bin Laden's body. Just minutes ago, she tweeted:
"Show photo as warning to others seeking America's destruction. No pussy-footing around, no politicking, no drama;it's part of the mission"
Stacy McCain points out that the photos will eventually leak anyway (in Update IV).

Analysis: Gov. Palin Growing 10X Faster Than Rivals on Social Media

Palin has even outpaced the White House in some social media gains this year.
*
Mark Malseed and Alex Salta at OhMyGov! want to know, "Can anyone or anything stop the social media juggernaut that is Sarah Palin?"
An analysis by OhMyGov of social media activity during the early stages of the 2012 campaign reveals that Palin can do no wrong when it comes to Facebook and Twitter. Palin's social media fan growth so far in 2011 outshines that of any other GOP contender, declared or rumored, in many cases by a factor of 10. And she doesn't need to be part of the day's big story to experience continued rapid growth.

The former Alaska governor has gained momentum in a number of unexpected situations. Palin attracted more news coverage than both Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty in the days following their announcements of presidential exploratory committees, as OhMyGov reported yesterday, even as her own presidential intentions remain unclear. Palin also drew more new social media followers than Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in the aftermath of the assassination attempt in Tucson that left Giffords critically wounded. And Palin saw her biggest spike in new Facebook fans --- or "Likes" of her page --- around the time of President Obama's State of the Union speech, which she provocatively criticized as being full of "WTF moments."

Anytime Palin becomes part of a news story, whether deliberately or unwittingly, our analysis shows, she benefits handsomely on social media. With a commanding advantage in Facebook fans over all her potential GOP primary opponents --- and a strong showing on Twitter as well --- Palin wields a lot of influence in the campaign whether she enters the race or not.

[...]

After keeping a respectful silence in the first days following the Tucson attacks, Palin made her first public statement via a video message released on January 12, resulting in a slew of traditional media coverage and social media activity.

In the 24 hours after accusing the mainstream media of "blood libel" in her video statement, Palin picked up another 3,021 Twitter followers and a staggering 15,068 new Facebook fans. Within a week of her remarks Palin netted roughly 9,000 new Twitter followers, proving once again that in politics there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Gov. Palin's social media presence is remarkably strong, the authors note, pointing out that the 150,000 Facebook fans Gov. Palin picked up during just the weeks of the State of the Union and her India trip are more than most politicians, government agencies and many in the GOP presidential field can claim in total fans.

John Nolte: How Trig's Crew used Twitter to declare children off-limits

"Trig’s Crew didn’t need the MSM to lay down a reckoning."
*
While it's been an unwritten rule of political combat for decades that the very young among the offspring of politicians should not be attacked, some hate sites on the far left of the blogosphere think rules are for everyone but themselves. But a coalition of concerned Twitter users which sprang up literally overnight in the whirlwind after Wonkette's demeaning attacks on Sarah Palin's 3-year old son Trig, seems to have found a way to put some teeth into that unwritten rule. Using the #TrigsCrew hash tag, they tweeted Wonkette's advertisers to make them aware that ads for their products and services were being displayed on the leftist hate site right alongside debasing slurs against a helpless toddler afflicted with Down Syndrome.

Big Hollywood Editor-In-Chief John Nolte, in his commentary for sister blog Big Journalism, opines that Trig's Crew "might represent the most potent example of the power of online activism we’ve seen yet."
Best of all, and contrary to Andrew Sullivan feeling all “queasy,” this was not a “Palinista” uprising. (Heads up: When it comes to Trig Palin, Sullivan is nothing more than Wonkette with professorial elbow patches.) Decent people of all political stripes, including some in the media, put partisan politics aside over this — and it was a beautiful thing to behold. Better still, organized under their hash tag, a group of citizen activists discovered the small “d” democratic wonder of Twitter and effectively learned how to politely, firmly, and publicly fight for something they believed in.

Personally, I’m not a boycott person, but that’s my right. Others have a right to boycott, and brother, did Trig’s Crew put on a boycott. All on their own, they organized a list of Wonkette advertisers, tweeted them directly with a request that they pull their ads, and kept track of those who did and didn’t. Within hours, it was obvious a tidal wave was brewing and by the next day it was just as obvious that it had hit. As of this writing, over 30 advertisers [forty-six, as of this Monday morning - JP] agreed with Trig’s Crew and pulled their ads from Wonkette. Seemingly, and in record time, the dismantling of a fairly mainstream, left-wing snark-site seemed probable.

Like the Tea Party, Trig’s Crew has represented the very best of mainstream America as they engaged in an inspiring First Amendment online debate with dignity and decency.

Some extreme hate sites which don't depend on ad revenue will, of course, continue their despicable attacks on innocent children, but those websites are self-marginalizing, and this form of depravity amounts to little more than preaching to the choir coven.

Ad Age: Companies Pull Ads From Wonkette After Palin Post

"People of all stripes have declared the post beyond tasteless"
*
On April 18, the despicable leftist sewer blog Wonkette ignited a firestorm by publishing a post titled "Greatest Living American: A Children's Treasury of Trig Crap On His Birthday" mocking Trig, Gov. Palin's youngest son who was born with Down Syndrome. The response from the left to this "celebration" of Trig's birthday was to pile on in the comments section with sewage even more disgusting and disturbing than the original article. But conservatives reacted in a far more serious manner, reports Ken Wheaton at Ad Age:
But then, according to Slate's David Weigel, conservative bloggers stumbled across it and the outcry started. It quickly spread across political lines as people of all stripes (or claiming to be) declared the post beyond tasteless and started demanding that advertisers pull ads.

So far, the Twitter presences for both Papa John's and Huggies have decried the post. According to the Papa John's tweet, the company will make sure its ads won't run on Wonkette in the future. Huggies went so far as to tweet, "All -- We do not support the @Wonkette story & have taken action 2 pull r ads, effective immediately. TY 4 bringing this issue to r att'n!"
The human filth at Wonkette, who did not respond to an Ad Age email requesting comment, predictably melted down on Twitter by calling Papa John's "homophobic" and urging fellow filth to boycott Papa John's. We're not sure what objecting to the despicable treatment of an innocent special needs child has to do with homosexuality, alien is logic to the "progressive mind." But we digress...

We don't know about you, but a tasty pizza from Papa John's sounds like just the ticket for supper tonight. As for Huggies, we doubt very many of the sewer surfers who hang out at places like Wonkette have young 'uns in diapers. Good Lord, we hope not, for the sake of their offspring at least. But if you have kids in diapers, please stock up on Huggies. It's important to reward companies who do the right thing.

Gov. Palin stands apart from the pack on negotiations

Tells GOP "Don't Retreat"
*
As the clock counted down to the deadline to avoid a government shutdown Friday night, Sarah Palin, via Twitter, encouraged Republican Congressional leaders to stand firm, while at least two of her potential rivals for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination seemed to argue for caving on conservative principles to cut a quick deal. Michael Falcone of ABC News has the story:
"GOP: don't retreat! The country is going broke. We can't AFFORD cowboy poetry & subsidizing abortion," Palin tweeted [here and here]. "If we can't fight to defund this nonsense now when we have the chance, do you think we'll win the big fight on entitlement reform later on?"

Palin referred to an issue that both sides involved in the ongoing negotiations on Capitol Hill agree has been a major sticking point -- the debate over providing federal funding to the family planning group, Planned Parenthood.

[...]

Earlier today Palin posted a more than 800-word Facebook message, critizing President Obama for threatening to veto a one-week continuing resolution proposal that would have funded the Department of Defense for the rest of the fiscal year.

"Why would the Commander in Chief declare that he will veto this?" Palin wrote. "Why would he play politics at the expense of our troops who are putting everything on the line to protect us?"

Notably, some of Palin’s fellow possible 2012 presidential contenders appeared to be at odds with her Friday evening tweet, counseling GOP leaders on Capitol Hill that it’s time to cut a deal.

“I am ready for a big fight that will change the arc of history,” Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., wrote on Twitter this afternoon. “The current fight in Washington is not that fight.”
Gov. Mike Huckabee, in an interview on Fox Business Network, recommended that Republicans make a deal and "live to fight another day." But talk show host Mark Levin sided with the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, tweeting his approval:
"Gov. Sarah Palin: Right on! "

The two consecutive tweets combined above are here and here.
