Palin-hatin' Olbermann sacked by MSPDS (Updated)

Buh-Bye Bathtub Boy
*
RedState's Caleb Howe tweets:
"At long last, sir, have you no job?"
Keith Olberman, has been abruptly fired by MSNBC, apparently during Friday night's show. More here. Just last month he dubbed Bristol Palin the "Worst Person In The World" for her role as an ambassador for abstinence with the Candies Foundation, and as recently as Tuesday misrepresented a CNN poll in a ridiculous attempt to tie Sarah Palin to the Tucson shootings.

Olby has been a frequent critic of Bristol's mom beginning just days after she was announced as John McCain's running mate more than two years ago. On September 17 of 2008, he falsely accused Gov. Palin of cutting funding for the Special Olympics by half in Alaska. He has bashed the first woman to be both governor of Alaska and the Republican Party's vice presidential candidate as a "phony" and an "idiot," and has named her "Worst Person In The World" a number of times. The hysterical host also labeled Gov. Palin and other critics of ObamaCare "subhumans," "ghouls," and "fiends." After Sarah Palin called David Letterman out for making a crude sexual "joke" about her teenage daughter Willow, Olbermann called the governor "sanctimonious, holier than thou, exploitative, undignified, pedantic, childish, self-inflicting, insipid, backwards, embarrassing, over-reactive, overreaching" as well as a "delusional lunatic." Even after all of his slandering of Sarah, the not-too-bright Bathtub Boy couldn't seem to understand why she would not be itching to appear on the network of hate, referring to her as a coward and throwing in for bad measure "idiot-woman" and "idiot." And that's only the highlight reel.

Olby probably won't be an unemployment statistic for long. We fully expect Ariana Huffington and/or Tina Brown to offer Keif a job. Or perhaps CNN will snap him up to replace the failing Parker Spitzer program in prime time. On second thought, he could get a column or a blog at the Washington Post. He would be just the ticket for "the new era of civility" there...

Update: Andrew Breitbart makes it short and tweet:

William A. Jacobson at Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion:
"There really is no difference at this point between Markos Moulitsas, Keith Olbermann, and Paul Krugman. Actually, there is a difference. Moulitsas spreads disinformation knowing it is a lie, Olbermann doesn't care, and Krugman is too sanctimonious and self-righteous to recognize it."

Aaron Goldstein: Dismissal of Sarah Palin

Olbermann knows who keeps his bread buttered
*
In The American Spectator's "Political Hay" column, Aaron Goldstein writes that he was neither shocked nor surprised to see the left blame Sarah Palin for the Tucson shootings. But if they believe that she can be so easily dismissed, they have a surprise of their own in store for them:
Before the shooter was identified much less his victims were identified we witnessed the spectacle of a Nobel laureate and an Academy Award-winning actress amongst many others falling all over themselves to excoriate the former Alaska governor.

Yet perhaps the most insightful of these denunciations of Palin was that of MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. Now when I use the word insightful I am not referring to the merits of his arguments. Olbermann's arguments are devoid of any, of course. But his arguments do provide us with a keen insight into the mindset of American liberalism in the early 21st century...

[...]

You would think that Keith Olbermann would know full well that all Palin was looking to do in targeting Gabrielle Giffords seat was to raise funds on behalf of Giffords' opponent, Jesse Kelly and to help Arizona's 8th District to elect a representative who would vote to repeal Obamacare. Despite Palin's efforts, the voters in Arizona's 8th opted to keep Giffords. Palin has nothing for which to apologize. You win some. You lose some. That's politics. It's something a 9-year-old girl would have understood.

But in the crazy world of Keith Olbermann, Sarah Palin must be dismissed from politics. She must be excised from our public discourse. Her thoughts have been deemed impure and thus they cannot be heard in polite society. This is at the heart of Olbermann's real agenda. The same can be said for Paul Krugman and Jane Fonda. So devoted are they to banishing Sarah Palin from the public square that they are willing to say anything, no matter how untrue, to make it happen. The end justifies the means. So it doesn't matter if Gabrielle Giffords was shot by a deranged man who was angry with her before Palin became a national public figure. It is still Palin's fault. If liberals could they would blame Palin for the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby. Liberals believe these things because they want to believe them. And as long as liberals want to believe that Sarah Palin bears responsibility for the murder of six people and for the attempted murder of Congresswoman Giffords, then there is no hope for elevation of our public discourse.

If Olbermann and other liberals are somehow successful in expunging Palin from public life as a result of this horrific tragedy, it will embolden them to dismiss the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, the whole Tea Party Movement and anybody else they deem to be undesirable.

Meredith Dake:
"Bristol, now taking a page from her mother’s book, has [Facebooked] this scathing response headlined: "Mr. Olbermann — Sorry We Can’t All Be As Perfect As You" ... Bristol has officially engaged the media narrative. The media crossed the line long ago attacking her, and it looks like this is the first of hopefully many responses. And what a great response!"

Bristol Palin answers Keith Olbermann's cruel attack

"I have never claimed to be perfect."
*
On her Facebook page, Bristol Palin defended herself against Keith Olbermann's recent cowardly attack on the young woman made on his MSPDS network show:
Mr. Olbermann--Sorry We Can't All Be As Perfect As You

Recently, a left wing commentator named Keith Olbermann attacked me for being a spokesperson for abstinence education and for being an Ambassador for the Candies Foundation, which promotes teen pregnancy awareness and prevention education. He went so far as to call me "the worst person" he knows, apparently, for my efforts to educate teenagers about the real world risks of premarital sex.

Accusing me of hypocrisy is by now, an old canard. What Mr. Olbermann lacks in originality he makes up for with insincere incredulity. Mr. Olbermann fails to understand that in order to have credibility as a spokesperson, it sometimes takes a person who has made mistakes. Parents warn their children about the mistakes they made so they are not repeated. Former gang members travel to schools to educate teenagers about the risks of gang life. Recovered addicts lecture to others about the risks of alcohol and drug abuse. And yes, a teen mother talks about the benefits of preventing teen pregnancy.

I have never claimed to be perfect. If that makes me the "worst person in the world" to Mr. Olbermann, then I must apologize for not being absolutely faultless like he undoubtedly must be.

To Mr. Olbermann let me say this: you can attack me all you want. But you will not stop me from getting my message out about teen pregnancy prevention. And one day, if you ever have a daughter, you may change your mind about me.

NewsBusters: Sly Scarborough Shot At Olbermann Over Sarah?

*
NewsBuster Mark Finkelstein catches MSDNC 'Morning Joe' co-host Joe Scarborough taking a thinly-veiled shot at Bathtub Boy:
Gee, I wonder which "cable news show" Joe had in mind...

In a seeming shot at Keith Olbermann, Joe Scarborough has predicted that "certain cable news shows" will stir up a "fake controversy" tonight over whether Sarah Palin was booed on Dancing With The Stars [she wasn't].

Here's the background: Bristol Palin performed on DWTS last night, and Sarah was there in the front row to support her. Jennifer Grey [of Dirty Dancing fame] also competed last night. Her backers in the audience began to boo when her scores, which they judged to be too low, were announced. That happened just before the show cut to an interview with Sarah Palin. Some have tried to suggest that the audience was booing Palin. But the crowd in fact cheered when Sarah appeared, and as Willie Geist said "my staff and I have studied the tape. They were not booing [Palin]."

That served as preamble to Joe's prediction...

Right v. Rectitude: The ground zero mosque and the Restoring Honor rally

*
Ken Connor, Chairman of the Center for a Just Society, comments on the incongruity of the left's support for the ground zero mosque on constitution grounds while it opposes the right of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin to rally at the Lincoln Memorial:
The growing opposition to plans for a Muslim cultural center and mosque near Ground Zero have prompted some on the Left to speak out in defense of religious freedom in America. On August 16th, pundit Keith Olbermann took opponents of the project to task in his “Special Comment” segment...

[...]

It is easier for demagogues like Olbermann to condemn the opponents of 45 Park Place as First Amendment-hating xenophobes than to recognize the legitimate “right v. rectitude” question at the heart of the controversy. What’s ironic, however, is how quick the Left is to dispense with the Constitution when those invoking it happen to fall on the politically incorrect side of the ideological divide.

When news broke that Glenn Beck would be hosting a “Restoring Honor” rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, that Sarah Palin was slated to speak and that the rally would take place on the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech, the cry of outrage from the Left was immediate. Keith Olbermann was so distressed by the news that he invited uber-liberal talk radio personality Bill Press to weigh in on the matter:
"Unbelievable isn’t it? [When] I first heard about this – from you, by the way – you know I was just outraged that the park service would even consider giving Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin a permit to hold a political rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, that sacred shrine, on this historic date. . . . Clearly – I don’t care what he says – he chose that site, on that day, to kind of supplant Dr. Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have A Dream’ speech with his message, whatever it is."
So, not only is Mr. Press outraged by Beck’s presumption and insensitivity, he openly suggests that the government should prevent him from doing so! In one fell swoop Mr. Press commits a constitutional double-whammy, assaulting not only Beck’s right to speech but his right to assemble. And how did Olbermann respond? Did he “speak out” against this diatribe with solemn recitations of Holocaust poetry and a condemnation of Press’s “stoking of enmity” against Beck and Palin? Why, of course not. Instead of defending Beck’s constitutional rights, Olbermann chooses instead to focus on rectitude, even going so far to suggest that Beck rally will be a “racist desecration” of Dr. King’s memory.

So, as far as the Left is concerned, when it comes to the Ground Zero mosque controversy, the principle of constitutional right rules the day, but when it comes to Glenn Beck, MLK and the Lincoln Memorial, rectitude is the driving factor. The only thing these seemingly disparate arguments have in common is that they flow not from a position of principle, but one of rhetorical expediency. In one case it suits Olbermann and his liberal brethren to invoke the hallowed liberties enshrined in our constitution, in the other it suits them to ignore them.
What is it about leftists that prevents them from recognizing their own hypocrisy? In a word, arrogance.

Keith Olbermann Is No Man of His Word

*
When it comes to bashing Sarah Palin and other conservative women, Keith Olbermann has proven to be something less than a man of his word. NewsBuster Brad Wilmouth has documented a big Bathtub Boy lie:
Since April 8 of this year, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann has called former Governor Sarah Palin an "idiot" 22 times on his Countdown show, usually by uttering the words, "That woman is an idiot." But in August 2004, the MSNBC host claimed to be too "naive and old-fashioned" to call a woman an "idiot," as he attacked conservative commentator Michelle Malkin for misquoting him as having called her an "idiot," when, in reality, he had charged that she had "made a fool out of herself" instead. In fact, Olbermann contended that if he had in reality called Malkin an "idiot," it would have been grounds for him to apologize:
We at Countdown were preparing an apology for my choice of language last night after the writer Michelle Malkin went on Rush Limbaugh's radio entertainment program and wrote in her Web blog that I had called her a, quote, "idiot." It was Ms. Malkin, who on Hardball last night, raised the accusation that John Kerry's Vietnam wounds may have been self-inflicted. It's naive and old-fashioned, but I feel you should reserve those terms like "idiot" exclusively for men. Political differences, fault or innocence are all secondary. There are codes. There's also a problem. I never called her an idiot.
But since April, the words, "That woman is an idiot," referring to Palin, have become a near regular part of the show, as the Countdown host has called the former governor an "idiot" during 20 episodes of his show between April 8 and July 8, including once when he used the label three times in one show as he also called her "idiot woman" and "that idiot."

Over the last couple of years, Olbermann has a history of making even more incendiary attacks on Malkin and Palin, once comparing Malkin to a "mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it," and once crudely joking with Rachel Maddow about the difference between Palin and a pitbull being that "you can train a pitbull to occasionally keep its mouth closed."

Last February, he slammed Sarah Palin, former New York Lieutenant Governor Betsy McCaughey, and other ObamaCare critics, especially those who have used the term "death panels," calling such national health care opponents by the names "subhumans," "ghouls," and "fiends." He went on to "damn" to "hell" those who use the term "death panels." Olbermann: "It’s a life panel, and damn those who call it otherwise to hell!"
Say, isn't it the left that is always complaining about the "hate speech" and "incendiary rhetoric" it claims it hears from conservatives? Perhaps leftists should look a little closer to home to find some real examples of what it whines about. It need look no further than MSNBC and Olberman's "Countdown" "Meltdown" program.

Just Orb: Context is Everything

*
Here's a blogger with enough common sense and intellectual honesty to check up on things the MSNBC leftists say in their never-ending campaign to try to disparage Sarah Palin. The intrepid blogger caught Keith Olbermann twisting, twisting, twisting the truth away, as Onerous Olby distorted and misrepresented a quote from Sarah Palin's dad Chuck Heath:
“I don’t want to push the wrong button with Sarah,” he said. “Besides, she doesn’t make the decisions. Let me retract that. I’m sure she thinks them over and she has a lot of say as to yes and no.”
This was then blown up by Olbermann into Palin doesn’t make any of her own decisions on anything, a thought that had him cackling with glee. Me? Not so much, because the first question I had was “Decisions about what? What’s the context of this quote?” See, I’ve caught Olbermann misrepresenting things often enough in the past that I trust him no more than I would someone on Fox News. He’s a partisan hack.

So I went and found the original source of the quote and supplied myself with the context.
Sally Heath is among those who help care for Trig, 2, who has Down syndrome. She also helps go through the hundreds of letters Sarah Palin receives asking her to speak at or attend various events.

Chuck Heath said he was careful about nudging his daughter toward the things that interest him.

“I don’t want to push the wrong button with Sarah,” he said. “Besides, she doesn’t make the decisions. Let me retract that. I’m sure she thinks them over and she has a lot of say as to yes and no.”
So Mr. Heath was clearly talking about Gov. Palin's relationship with the Washington Speakers Bureau, to which she is under contract for all of her speaking engagements. Though the governor probably has a lot of say in which offers to speak she will accept and which ones she will decline, she doesn't have the only voice in those decisions. As her agents, WSB has its share in the decision-making:
So those are the decisions her father was talking about. Not political decisions. Not any other kinds of decisions. Decisions about what speaking engagements Ms. Palin takes and which she doesn’t. But Olbermann felt the need to take it totally away from its context and use the quote for his own – completely made up – rant...
Just another of the many examples of how the lying left operates. Props to the truth-seeking blogger, who, unlike the leftist keyboard klowns who take everything liars like Bathtub Boy and the perpetual prevaricators at Huffington Post say as gospel. Like the governor said, they just keep "making things up."

Bad News for Keith Olbermann and the Palingaters (Updated)

*

Keith Olbermann and the manure-munching maggots at the hate blog "Palingates" got one of their moonbat conspiracy theories shot down in flames Monday night by none other than Sarah Palin critic and WaPo blogger David Weigel:

"Palin haters want to believe she perjured
herself in the hacked e-mail trial. (My
reporting confirms that... she didn't.)"

In the warped minds of the Palingaters, there could only be one illogical explanation for Weigel's reporting -- Another conspiracy! -- Deep down, he must be biased in Sarah Palin's favor. Anyone who is not a Haterade drinker and who has read even a few of Weigel's posts about Sarah Palin realizes that he's been a frequent critic of the former governor, only not a rabid one like the Gaters.

The Palingaters also expressed deep resentment that Weigel referred to them as "Palin haters." But even left-of-center blogger Tommy Christopher confirms Weigel's PDS diagnosis:
"I hate to break it to you, Palingates, but you are."
The Palingaters attempted to defend themselves by projecting their hatred right at Conservatives 4 Palin:
"I do wonder if David Weigel calls C4P 'Obama haters'."
So clouded are the Palingaters' ruined brains by anti-Palin emotion they fail to see the difference between the two blogs. C4P is a pro-Palin website. Like most exclusively pro-Palin sites, 95 percent of its content is postive material in support of Gov. Palin, while only about 5 percent of what it publishes is criticism of President Obama and others on the political left. In contrast, "Palingates" is an anti-Palin website. Like most exclusively anti-Palin sites, libelous attacks on Sarah Palin and her supporters account for 99.44 percent of its content. It is devoted exclusively to the destruction of the former governor.

Being able to see the difference ain't exactly rocket science...

Update: Weigel responds to the Palingaters' accusations against him:
"I think it's pretty clear which of us was looking for the facts and which of us is trafficking in innuendo. There is just no case for accusing Palin of perjury."
That's the interesting thing about the unhinged Palin-haters. They are so far out there in moonbat land that even Palin critics like Weigel wind up having to defend her. They are their own worst enemies, which is why when we look at them, so many of us Palin supporters see the resemblance to the hapless cartoon character Wyle E. Coyote.

Olbermann hits a new low, even for him and creepy MSNBC

*
Newsbuster Noel Sheppard reports that MSNBC loose screw Keith Olbermann used a remark by a little-known Virginia state Delegate to suggest thar Sarah Palin had an abortion:
In his "Worst Person in the World" segment, the "Countdown" host recognized Bob Marshall (R-Va.) for his comments about abortion increasing the likelihood of handicaps in children born after the procedure was performed on their mother.

Much as the notorious "Family Guy" episode did recently, this reference to handicapped children disgustingly led Olbermann to bring Palin into the equation:
"Marshall`s statement is trouble for two politicians: Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, who like Marshall wants to cut off funding for Planned Parenthood in the state, and of course little Ms. Umbrage herself, Sarah Palin, who Marshall apparently thinks is being punished for something. I mean, he seems to imply maybe she had an abortion. Your move, Mrs. Palin."
So, is it now acceptable to invoke Sarah Palin ANY TIME a reference is made to a handicapped child?
Leftists, especially the not-ready-for-prime-time flock of loons at MSNBC, have demonstrated time and again, that they aren't above using Gov. Palin's Down baby Trig to attack her in the most vile manner. But then again, Leftists aren't above anything, including the domain of Hades.

How obsessed is The Left over Sarah Palin? Olbermann Watch, a website that keeps track of the loony leftist so we don't have to watch Keith Olbermann's "Meltdown" program on MSDNC (Thanks, folks!), regularly examines keyword transcripts of his show.

Olbermann still pushing "kill him" lie a year after it was discredited

Hysterical MSNBC moonbat Keith Olbermann is still pushing the discredited "kill him" meme nearly a year after it has been debunked by the Secret Service. Last week on his ratings-challenged cable television program, Olbermann and guest Melissa Harris-Lacewell, a Princeton University professor, were rationalizing ways to justify labeling any criticism of president Obama as "racist" when the unhinged host dredged up a favorite moonbat meme -- "kill him." After showing a video clip of Sarah Palin criticizing Obama for his connections to unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, Olbermann commented:
"So when calls to kill him rang out at some GOP rally, who could legitimately claim that it had to be isolated from that context?"
But only one lone person at the rally, a liberal reporter, claims to have heard that shout. It is absent from video and audio recordings of the event, and the Secret Service, after having investigated the allegation, dismissed it:
Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.

“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.

He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.

Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell “kill him.”

“We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”
But Olbermann, like all good leftists, knows his Lenin:
"A lie told often enough becomes the truth."
And so, for nutroots bloggers who hang on Olbermann's every word for inspiration, this discredited lie has become their truth. That he and they still invoke it nearly a year after it has been discredited only shows how divorced from reality these moonbats have become.

The uncleanliness of Keith Olbermann

*
Yes, unclean:
un·clean (adj)
Pronunciation: \ˌən-ˈklēn\

1 : morally or spiritually impure
2 : infected with a harmful supernatural contagion
3 : dirty, filthy
4 : lacking in clarity and precision of conception or execution

— un·clean·ness \-ˈklēn-nəs\ noun
In what way?

NewsBusters' Jeff Poor:
The repugnant MSNBC host devoted some three-quarters of his Sept. 16 show to claim criticism of President Barack Obama had to have elements of racism, no matter how you sliced it. And therefore, those critics were all despicable human beings, end of story.

However, he did manage to find time to revert to old tried and true method of appeasing his angry left-wing desires - a little bashing of former Republican vice-presidential nominee and Gov. Sarah Palin, with an assist from Michael Musto, columnist for The Village Voice.
The anti-Palin hatefest Herr Olbermann and his guest staged would be just more of misogynist channel MSNBC's standard fare and otherwise unremarkable to us except for this Olby slime:
"With Sarah Palin lately, you rattle the cash, she's there. She need that money to pay extra day care for her out-of-wedlock grandchild, and to help special-needs adults [sic] - special-needs children."
Beyond the sick reference to Trig Palin, there is something equally troubling in what the talk host with the laughable ratings said. This is Keith Olbermann, who has been the head cheerleader for those who drove Sarah Palin's legal bills over the $600,000 mark due to the filing of frivolous "ethics" complaints. Yet he slams her for trying to earn some money to pay her attorneys. "Hypocritical" is too good a word, so we will just use an adjective which, in some parts of the world, is the worst that can be said of anyone -- unclean.

No matter how much soap and water bathtub boy uses and no matter how hard he scrubs, he will be unclean. It is a condition of the mind and the spirit, not the body.

Ace: Sarah Palin shines while lessers decline

*
Ace posted Gov. Palin's full statement on the Tiller and Long shootings and adds:
As of 3:15pm EDT there's still no statement on the White House website about the death of a US soldier by a Muslim terrorist. Contrast that to the rapidity with which the Obama administration had something to say about the Tiller murder.

There's nothing on Andrew Sullivan's website nor did Keith Olbermann manage to take a second away from blaming Fox for Tiller's death to mention Private Long or Private Ezeagwula.

I guess we know what their priorities are.
And hers.
