"For the uninitiated, Steve was the original host of the children’s show 'Blue’s Clues.' I have sat through many repeated episodes of Steve hunting down that little puppy’s paw-print clues, and Steve’s performance and interaction with the camera made most of those sittings not only tolerable, but at times quite entertaining. Unfortunately, I just discovered that during last year’s campaign, he used his incredible talents for a piece of fact-challenged propaganda targeting Sarah Palin and done in the same style he used to educate so many of America’s children about more mundane things like counting and sharing."Despite Steve's terminal case of Palin Derangement Syndrome, O'Connor says he will "continue to contribute to your royalty checks," but he wants Steve to leave his kids out of the political propagandizing.
"It is not a real surprise... to learn that Steve leans to the left politically. What did come as an enormous disappointment was to discover that he used his incredible communicative talents to gear his political message toward children. In the video posted above, which he narrates, he joins the ranks of the disingenuous liars who are downright vicious in slamming Sarah Palin and Senator McCain. And to me, what makes it unforgiveable is that it is presented in the same spirit as his loveable (sic) character from 'Blue’s Clues.'"
"Hey, creature- JP
Leave them kids alone"
"You guys ought to listen to yourselves. Your hatred of Obama is so evident. Once thing is to disagree with his policies, another things (sic) altogether is hatred. You hate him. No question about it."Awesome detective work, Rudy! You caught us red-handed. There's no use in us denying it, so we have to confess. Us bible-believing, Palin-loving Christianists and Joooos are just chock full o' hate. And we especially hate Obama. Why, we hate him so much that...
"Wow. Where do we send money to help with his legal bills?"Others said that the tomato tosser didn't go far enough:
"I will contribute to any fund to aid in his defense"
"I hope he gets off for his act of political protest"
"Give that man a Medal"
"I'm proud to be a Minnesotan!"
"Rotten eggs would be better"Others played the tired old dehumanization card from the Left's stacked deck:
"He should have been throwing dogsh**"
"Shoulda waved a gun"
"to throw two tomatos at a former repug VP candidate and miss, is totally unforgivable"
"Doesn't come close to the moosesh** she's be (sic) throwing at everyone... But it's a start"
"but Hillary and Obama are 1) real politicians and 2) human beings"Still another pretends that the million-selling author has no relevance:
"Those poor, poor tomatoes desecrated on Moose Bunny"
"She is irrelevant, why give her publicity"AT DU, there's always conspiracy theorists in the 'Rat's nest:
"Hell, she probably hired him to do it. Hasn't been on TV in days"The fascist card also got played:
"her publisher probably paid him to do it in order to boost sales"
"But were they liberal tomatoes or fascist Republican tomatoes?"And a claim that it was Sarah Palin's fault that a loony lib tried to assault her:
"Its such a shame that palin and her ilk make some people want to stoop to the level"There were only a few commenters who denounced the act, not all because it is wrong, but because it makes Dems "look bad."
Do you suppose Palin slaughters little bunnies for Easter? How does anyone who writes such slop think anyone but the denizens of DU DU will take him seriously?
