Robin of Berkeley: The Left's Sexual Terrorism

Former leftist Robin of Berkeley, in an American Thinker op-ed, concludes that the treatment of women by the radical left is nothing short of sexual terrorism:

Sarah Palin has been on the receiving end of a steady barrage of sexual degradation. Here's a title of an article from the June 2010 Harper's Magazine: "Is Sarah Palin Porn?"

According to the new book Game Change, Palin was devastated when she was attacked fast and furiously. Her torment was by design. As [Eldridge] Cleaver revealed, the Left has been using and abusing women for years.

The "wilding" of Palin was meant not just to demean her, but to frighten her. Leftists wanted to expose the raw nerve of vulnerability lying deep inside every woman's soul. It is the knowledge that anytime, anywhere, we can be raped.

The word "vulnerable" comes from the Latin vulnus, which means to wound. And this is exactly what the Left has been doing to conservative women like Palin -- terrorizing and wounding them.

The radicals are experts at controlling women. They've been dominating their own women for decades.

But when they went after Sarah Palin, the leftists made a gross miscalculation, much like the Japanese at Pearl Harbor near the end of 1941 and al-Qaeda in Manhattan in September of 2001. Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who lived for a while in the United Sates, has been portrayed as worrying after the devastating attack he led, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." The leaders of al-Qaeda expressed no such regrets, but their attack awakened a sleepy George W. Bush and filled the rookie president with a terrible resolve.

In the case of Sarah Palin, the attacks on her may have been devastating at first, but the left made the mistake of also going after her children and thus awakened a sleepy mama bear's protective instincts for her cubs. She not only got over the initial devastating effects of the attacks, but now she has gone so far as to mobilize an army of mama grizzlies who are taking charge and taking over. Lie the Japanese and the al-Qaeda terrorists, the left failed to heed the wisdom of philosopher George Santayana, succinctly expressed in his common sense warning, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
