The Palin Effect in FL-08: Patricia Sullivan Inspired to Run

*
Patricia Sullivan is just one of the many "mama grizzlies" who have been inspired to run for public office by the example set by Sarah Palin. A constitutional conservative, Sullivan says she hopes to "empower her fellow citizens to take back their government, to return to the vision and values of our Founding Fathers."

The mother of four who home schools her children believes strongly in local, rather than federal, jurisdiction over education. Like most "domestic engineers," as Sullivan describes homemakers, she balances the family checkbook and lives within a budget. This is why one of her top priorities is to stop the deficit spending and federal buyouts that she believes "put our country and our children’s future in jeopardy."

Sullivan, one of the founders of the North Lake TEA Party, said in an interview last November that Gov. Palin is her inspiration:
"Sarah Palin really was a breath of fresh air. I remember the day she was announced as McCain’s running mate. We stopped our book work to watch TV. Our oldest daughter, Jennifer, was immediately engaged in the election because of her. I remember watching Sarah walk through crowds with Piper holding her waist and now my youngest is doing the same while I’m talking with voters in my district."
Her district is Florida-08, which takes in parts of Orange County (including part of Orlando), Lake County, Marion and Osceola County.

The central Florida district is currently represented by Democrat lunatic Alan Grayson, who has called free speech "a threat to democracy." Grayson sees no problems with his own free speech, however, as he has called Linda Robertson, an adviser to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, a "K Street whore." After Sarah Palin called for Grayson's ouster in a speech to the Orange County GOP Lincoln Day dinner in March, the rabid representative referred to the first woman to win the Republican nomination for vice president as a "wild Alaskan dingbat." Grayson has also said that the health care plans proposed by Rep. Eric Cantor and other Republicans were for Americans to "die quickly," and he ran afoul of the Anti-Defamation League for referring to the health care system as a “holocaust in America.”

Before she can take on Grayson, however, Patricia Sullivan must best a crowded field of no less than thirteen in the District Eight GOP primary, which will be decided on August 24. She is pro-life, an advocate for fiscal responsibility, a believer in border security, and a constitutionalist who strongly supports the second and tenth amendments.

Those who would like to contribute to her campaign can do so here.

  1. According to the loons on tv, it's Hillary Clinton who has inspired all these conservative women to get involved, not Sarah Palin. That just goes to show how far out of reality the left is, and always has been.

I hope Palin endorses Sullivan, it sounds like a tough battle with 13 candidates in the primary. That shows that the enthusiasm is on the conservative side for sure.

  3. Sarah Palin needs to take a close look at the candidates for the 8th congressional district. Once she does that I am confident that she would endorse Patricia Sullivan. Patricia has all the “right stuff’ that a conservative like Palin would be impressed with … a believer in the US Constitution, small business and the Free Market System, personal responsibility, less spending and a smaller government. Oh…and she will represent all of the people in the 8th vs. someone like Grayson who only represents the far, far left.

  4. Patricia Sullivan was inspired to run for office by Sarah Palin but she consistently proves she is her own person and not just another knock off. Due to her leadership qualities people feel comfortable around her and eager to help in her campaign. Her supporter work for no pay just the satisfaction they are working to get the most qualified person elected. People like Patricia Sullivan come along much to seldom but when they do they are an asset to the rest of us.
