Neighborgate: Palin clan gets the support of... Kathleen Parker?

*
In the Neighborgate creepout, the Palin family finds itself getting support from unexpected quarters. Long time Palin critic Kathleen Parker, of all people, sides with the Palins on this one. In fact, Parker was able to get an interview with Todd Palin, who called her, says Parker, at the urging of a mutual friend. Todd told the WaPo columnist that he and Gov. Palin may take the family someplace other than home sweet Wasilla for the summer, due to the close proximity of Peeping Joe McGinniss:
McGinniss is renting the house next to the Palins, from which he can keep a close eye on the former governor’s comings and goings. Regardless of one’s political views, anyone with any remnant of respect for others’ privacy can sympathize with the Palins. As Todd put it: “This is a non-partisan issue.”

[...]

Todd was unconvinced by McGinniss’s claim that he only wanted to be a good neighbor: “What we read is he’ll nice you to death and then stab you in the back.”

“It’s very creepy. Knowing that someone is going to be writing a hit piece, and he’s 15 feet away from you.”

The invasion of privacy has ruined the Palins’ summer.

“This [summer] is what we live for. We like to be outside and do family activities, and big brother is watching.”

[...]

Todd is trying to keep his cool, watching his words. He’s aware that whatever he says or does, “coming from me, people twist it and turn, and before I know it, I’ve threatened someone.”

“The media would love for me to go out and hit somebody.”

He’s probably right, but it sounds like everyone needs to cool their jets and that someone needs to leave the neighborhood. It shouldn’t have to be Todd and Sarah Palin.
Keep it up, Joe. You're already made two of Gov. Palin's most vociferous critics sympathize with her and her family. When you're on an anti-Palin crusade, and you've lost the likes of Ruth Marcus and Kathleen Parker, you're helping Sarah Palin more than hurting her.

  1. Ohff, what a clown. And there he is on NBCs Today Show crying about how his feelings were hurt by the cruel things said on Sarah Palin's Facebook? Please. What, is this guy some preteen with an esteem issue so shallow that comments that were both spot on and funny are going to drive him to suicide? And why the face time on the Today Show when just a couple of days ago he was kicking an NBC news crew off his front porch for trying to ask him a couple of questions about his thinking in plopping himself down on property directly overlooking the Palin family residence.

Todd has to fight his natural desire to smack him? Hell, who doesn't? Jenna Wolfe wants to smack him.
