More Quote of the Day Honorable Mentions, Part 58

"The Spy Next Door VII: Creepy Leftist Death Threats" Edition...

Karen Allen:
"Well, let's assume for a second that the Facebook note the governor posted was truly hate inspired. What then would we call the many following tweet gems?" [Followed by screenshots of long list of death threats made against Sarah Palin and her family]
Whitney The Pipsqueak:
"Regarding the claim that the Governor incites hatred and violence, nothing could be further from the truth. The Governor has denounced violence on multiple occasions. As Governor Palin rightfully notes, violence has indeed been incited against her for nearly 2 years. God only knows how many emails and threats she has received, but for those of us who are not the omniscient nor the horribly unfortunate recipients of such hatred as the Palins have been, let us take a quick look at the vile things that have been unleashed by the supposedly tolerant Left. The Governor has received numerous amounts of death threats and vile hatred via twitter. Her church was severely damaged in a suspicious fire. During the 2008 presidential campaign, she was hung in effigy. That's just to name a few things, and supposedly the Governor is the one inciting hatred and violence?"
C.H. Fowler:
"The self-pity and horrors of Mr. McGinniss' s travails would all be amusing, if not for the continued trivialization of the historic reality of the Nazis. For the longest time, anything not approved of by liberals and leftists has been branded Nazi. Arizona's state law designed to enforce federal immigration law has met with this same stupid usage. A good question for Mr. McGinniss is which Jewish victim of the Holocaust, and all other victims of Nazi terror, would mind sharing his suffering and trading places? The man is more than a creep. He's an ignorant whiner."
Gary P. Jackson:
"On the hoisted-by-one’s-own-petard-o-meter, this is pretty much off the charts. You remember when Sarah’s mentally unstable stalker, Joe McGinniss, called Sarah, and by extension, all red blooded Americans, Nazis? If not, let’s refresh our memories here. My guess is demented stalker guy’s publisher is not going be too thrilled with this. You see, Stalker Joe’s publisher, Bertelsmann/Random House, has a bit of history in this area... Not only was Stalker Joe’s publisher a shill for the Nazis, printing up Nazi propaganda, they also profited using Jewish slave labor, and contributed greatly towards the hatred of the Jewish people. BTW, Barack Obama, author and well known anti-Semite, whose first book was written with the help of terrorist Bill Ayers (allegedly) and second book was based on a sermon by another well known Jew hater, Jeremiah Wright, is also part of the Random House stable of authors as they published both books. Seems like Bertelsmann hasn’t really changed much. Now who today most resembles the Nazis again?"
Be John Galt:
"Matt Lauer didn’t seem quite so interested in December of 2008 when arsonists set fire to Sarah Palin’s church... Members of the media actually make politicians look honest by comparison..."
Child of Mary:
"Really? He couldn't find anywhere else in Wasilla to move? Really? He needs to be right next door? Wasilla currently has approximately 140 apartment vacancies which would be at least half the cost of the $1500 a month rent he's paying to stalk the Palins... This writer has no business moving next door but why hasn't the media or anyone picked up on that simple fact? The hysteria and hatred against Sarah Palin is amazing. One opinionated soul accused Palin of wanting attention and asked why Palin isn't doing something about the oil spill! Excuse me? Shouldn't she be asked why Obama hasn't done anything about the spill?"
Government Mess:
"The liberal media will elevate author Joe McGinnis to a god-like status because he is trying to show Sarah Palin and her family in a negative way."
Mike Gallagher:
"They managed to turn this all around on Sarah Palin and blame her... Joe McGinness stood there and said she was un-American and like a Nazi for posting a Facebook mention about him moving in next door to her and stalking her and her family. And Matt Lauer never called [McGinness] on it. It was the most unbelievable thing I've seen on television in years. So now the stalker gets glorified on the 'Today' Show in front of millions of viewers... This is exactly what I mean about 'Opposite World...' Listen, if you're the biggest Sarah Palin hater in the universe, you've got to concede that this guy has crossed every line of decency and boundary and any kind of respect by moving in next door to her, forcing her to erect a big giant fence so he's not staring at her children or watching her while she's out in the back gardening. And in the course of a few minutes' segment on the 'Today' Show, they manage to turn the whole thing around on Sarah Palin and blame her. Do you think I'm making this up?"
Stacy Drake:
"I was pretty much on to the fact that McGinniss was a far-left nut after the Portfolio hit-piece he wrote back when Governor Palin was serving her last term in office. But just how far left this guy really is didn't occur to me until I read the Politico article the other day where he repeated the same line his son had said in a different article, that Sarah Palin 'incites hate.'"
Chicago Sun-Times:
"McGinniss says he's a journalist, but anybody can see he has taken up a new line of work: stalker... What a creep."
Right Pundits:
"Already forced to defend his presence several feet from Sarah Palin’s porch, his Random House publishers have been thus far silent about the interview but cannot be happy campers. Although any publicity is generally considered good publicity for a forthcoming book, the pretense of objectivity has been lost and along with it the publishers’ most valued assets: professional objectivity and academic respectability."
William McKenzie:
"The fact McGinniss is living next to the Palins while writing about them is just weird. It's one thing to investigate someone. It's another to invade their privacy."
Gregg Opelka:
"Palin’s already used to being kicked, mocked, belittled, slandered, abused, heckled, jeered at, objectified, harassed, demeaned and underrated. She’s had her teenager daughter’s adolescence verbally abused by David Letterman, her special-needs child abased by Seth McFarlane, and nearly every member of her family ridiculed by a liberal bloodlust as weird as it is relentless. But Palin not only takes the slings and arrows. She fires them back twice as hard. She’s had nearly two years of practice—and she’s built up a throng of supporters in the millions."
Witch's Will:
"Disgusting and repulsive as I find Mr. McGinnis and his hateful rhetoric I find the actions of Matt Laurer worse. He just sat there and let McGinnis say that Sarah Palin’s actions were Nazi-like. I’m happy to say I don’t watch the 'Today' show. Because if this is an example of their 'reporting' it’s not acceptable professionalism yesterday, today or tomorrow. As usual Laurer’s liberal bias is showing... Does anyone think that [McGinness] will interview her friends or those that like her? Does anyone doubt his ability to find plenty of the jealous, the mean-spirited and the malicious to give him all the quotes he needs to attack, demean and write a trashy, hate-filled POS book that will be a big seller among the Palin-haters? Me neither!"
Vicki McClure Davidson:
"The left-wing media has been working ’round the clock… they’ve been fact-checking the Palin fence. Priorities, baby… now if they would only dig 1/10th as diligently on Obama’s college records, the donations BP made to his campaign, or his troubling cronyism."
