strongly criticized the governor for her intention to travel to Indiana at the end of this week, accusing Palin of shirking her duties in the final days of the legislative session.
To measure public opinion on the matter, the poll asked just one question:
Do you approve of Gov. Sarah Palin traveling Outside during the last week of the legislative session? The Palin Phenomenon of late last year appears not to have abated at all, as the station's survey received about three times the normal number of respondents to its online poll.
Over 4,500 people voted, and 80% of them, an overwhelming majority, indicated that they approved of Gov. Palin's decision to attend the two charitable events in Evansville, IN. Only 20% answered in the negative.
Though not scientific, the results of KTUU's poll supports the opinion expressed by the governor's supporters that her political enemies claimed outrage over her plans to leave the state for two days are nothing more than political posturing.
The numbers also suggest that Sarah Palin is still an immensely popular public figure, despite the non-stop campaign against her since September by her political opponents, leftist bloggers and the media.
