Special Christmas Edition

OregonGuy:
"I write for myself, for you, and a select handful of others. Same with Sarah Palin. 'America By Heart.' It's the book I'm reading now. Sarah is writing about her priors. Those beliefs that she holds as central, critical, to her beliefs... Because we start with the same, natural, origin, it is critical that we adopt an agenda--such as that adopted by our Founding Fathers--that reflects our understanding of our nature and origins... Sarah's willingness to admit to the goodness of her fellow man is revealing to me. It is what I would expect from someone who has truly looked into, not only her own heart, but the hearts of those she loves, to see the commonality of those she, you and I, live among. We will find ourselves let down by our expectations, from time-to-time. She admits this. I admit this. But she is unwilling to give up on how wonderful free men are. We care about each other. We are patient. We are industrious. We are human."
Fishersville Mike:
"Fox news, Sarah Palin... Two things to be thankful for this Christmas season... It's such to see Facebook postings from people upset by these two. If they keep worrying about Fox News and Sarah Palin, their 2011 will be in turmoil, also."
Jared H. McAndersen at The Looking Spoon:
"How is the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act NOT an imposition of 'the government's desires on people?' It's now law... If anyone can tell me which federal law Huckabee used to guide him in dropping his 100 pounds I'll back off the issue, and because I'm a nice guy I wont make beeping sounds while I do it. All Palin is doing is playing a little gander to Michelle's goose by employing Obama's BFF Saul Alinsky's fifth rule: 'Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.' This kind of nonsense needs to be ridiculed until election day, when it can be defeated."
Calvin Freiburger at Calvin Freiburger Online:
"Mike Huckabee vs. Sarah Palin on healthy diets in schools? Sorry Lisa, but I'm with Palin."
Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters:
"As NewsBusters readers are well aware, vulgarian comedienne Kathy Griffin spends a lot of time bashing the Palins. On Thursday's 'Late Late Show' she told Craig Ferguson, 'I just think the whole family is a riot. Just trust me'... Actually, what we should trust is that this 'woman' understands quite well that all she has to do is say anything disparaging about one or all of the Palins, and the liberal media will eat it up. Does that say more about her or the state of 'journalism' today?"
Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters:
"Chris Matthews on almost a nightly basis devotes MSNBC air time to bashing former Alaska governor Sarah Palin... Readers are once again reminded that Matthews believes 'Hardball' is 'absolutely nonpartisan.'"
Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters:
"Oprah Winfrey thinks America is going to fall in love with Sarah Palin - as a reality TV star that is. In a Parade magazine interview scheduled for publication this Sunday, the daytime talk star also said she's not afraid of Palin running for president because she believes in 'the intelligence of the American public'... Readers should expect her comments about both these figures to get a lot of attention in the coming days, especially from the Palin-deranged media."
ZIP at Weasel Zippers:
"Oprah... She’s one of the original Obama Disciples, what do you expect her to say? Certainly nothing intelligent…"
Sister Toldjah:
"Um, [Oprah] believes in the 'intelligence of the American people' even though a majority (with her help) elected a man with one of the thinnest resumes in Presidential history, who has proven over and over again how he’s not even close to being up to the task of actually leading it? She still supports this guy, is still making excuses for him after two years of epic failure on the most important domestic issue facing Americans today – the economy and unemployment? So, like assuming for purposes of discussion that Sarah Palin was the GOP nominee running against President Obama and the election were this year, Oprah would likely pull out all the big guns to try to help get Obama elected to another term... What I’m wondering is where the heck is HER intelligence? I mean, I know she’s a liberal and all but even liberals are waking up to the reality that the country would be a lot better off if President Obama were still the junior Senator from Illinois rather than the 'leader of the free world.' And regardless of what you think about Sarah Palin, surely she could do no worse than our pseudo-intellectual celebrity President."
Vilmar at Kickin' and Screamin':
"Oprah says Americans would be smart to elect Sarah Palin... OK, maybe it’s what I took out of it but... taken to its logical conclusion, if Palin does not get elected does that mean Americans are idiots? I’d say so."
Ace at Ace of Spades HQ:
"Culture is thicker than ideology... This I think is the reason many grassroots conservatives hate Mitt Romney and love Sarah Palin. Even though they agree on most issues, they sense Mitt Romney is from that leadership class, and will sell them out at the drop of a hat to keep in the good graces of the culture he admires and identifies with, and Sarah Palin is definitely from their own class -- what the establishment regards as The Barbaric Other -- and will tend to support them."
Broadsheet at Sarah Palin's Alaska:
"The Joke Well Runs Dry... Running out of ideas, guys? It’s okay if you’re taking a vacation early or something, just let us know."
Bill Smith at ARRA News Service:
"As many know, I have for some time been supporting the Draft Sarah Palin 2012 Committee. Will I continue to do so? Yes. Will I support the Draft Herman Cain for President 2012? You betcha! I liked watching and supporting Sarah Palin in 2008. I voted for her and that other guy she was running with. She is dynamic and it is amazing watching her communicate with a crowd. She also leads in being nationally known. She is a classy conservative lady who the liberals hate above all other candidates. I will keep my Veterans for Sarah hat on my rack whether she runs or not! Palin has learned the national debate game since 2008. If she wins the Republican nomination, she will shred Obama and his policies... I do not mind having lots of hats while others often prefer just a favorite hat. I am happy to see numerous viable quality conservative candidates available to run for office. We need someone to bring the ship of state back into a safe harbor and reversing the threat of national bankruptcy."
Merv Benson at Prairie Pundit:
"People continue to underestimate Sarah Palin. If she can swing some independents her way with policy positions she will have a shot in 2012."
Gary P. Jackson at A Time for Choosing:
"These elites who are constantly sniping at Sarah Palin do so, not because they honestly think she isn’t 'presidential' ... but because they have an agenda. The Republican establishment fears Sarah Palin. Not the lady, as much as what she represents. Like Ronald Reagan before her, Sarah is a movement Conservative... Sarah is also a reformer... This scares both parties in Washington, but scares the Republican establishment the most. When Sarah Palin says she would go to Washington to 'shake things up' she means it!"

Quote of the Day (December 24, 2010)

Huckabee probably won't run...
*
Paul Mirengoff at Power Line:
"Jonah Goldberg lists 24 Republicans about whom there is 'non-trivial presidential buzz.' He winnows that list down to five front-runners: Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Tim Pawlenty, and Mitch Daniels. In this field, I think Palin is the most likely nominee. In a field that also includes Mike Huckabee, Palin's chances of being nominated obviously are reduced, but remain pretty good."

Sarah Palin: Merry Christmas to All!

And let’s be grateful for the troops who may be spending this Christmas far from home
*
Gov. Palin has posted a Christmas message on her Facebook Notes page:
Merry Christmas to All!

Christmas is a time of sharing with family and friends. For Todd and me, that means spending time with our children, parents, grandparents, and siblings, gratefully acknowledging God’s blessings and sharing them with the people we love.

Ronald Reagan said Christmas was a “state of mind, found throughout the year whenever faith overcomes doubt, hope conquers despair, and love triumphs over hate.” On this Christmas Eve, let’s be thankful that we live in a country known for striving to embody these values. And let’s be grateful for the brave men and women in uniform who have fought to defend our values and who may be spending this Christmas far from home.

On behalf of the entire Palin family, I wish you a very Merry Christmas; and may the new year let you realize the promise found in 2 Timothy 1:7!

- Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin: Follow Me There... to Afognak Island!

Also, Willow prepares to take her driver's license test
*
Gov. Palin previewed the next episode of "Sarah Palin's Alaska" Friday on Facebook:
Follow Me There... to Afognak Island!

Come along on another Alaskan adventure as we profile amazingly hard workers in the timber industry. Loggers are hearty and hardy, and the ones I know are true conservationists. I can’t wait for you to meet these lumberjacks!

During this Christmas season, do you ever wonder where you get many of your Christmas trees, firewood, packing boxes… shoot, just look around at everything timber touches and ask yourself who begins the production of these wood products? You’ll meet them on an exciting trip to an Afognak Island logging camp where our daughter learns even more about our family’s #1 lesson: tough work ethic and character will fulfill and sustain you.

Learn how the logging families live in such a remote part of God’s country and how they cherish the land that provides their livelihood. You’ll see how their reforestation efforts allow the forest regrowth rate to repeat a life cycle of new forest nearly every 20 years. These loggers actually care more about the sustainability of their forests than most anyone because they love their livelihood, they know America relies on our domestic timber industry for good jobs and economic security, they are inspired in the great outdoors, and many of them want their kids to get to grow up to be loggers. Basically, the good folks you’ll meet want to be allowed to do what they love to do and what anyone who lives among lumber and wood products rely on them to do for us.

In addition, come see Willow’s eyes open to a new rugged and rustic lifestyle. Her driving skills improve (?) before she undertakes a family’s rite of passage with an upcoming driver’s license test. Any parent can relate.

With only a couple more episodes to share, I promise you a fun and informative episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” this Sunday night at 9pm ET/8c on TLC. Follow me there!

You can watch a preview of the episode here.

Bristol Palin becomes a homeowner... in Arizona

"She seems like a nice girl. We're excited for her."
*
Bristol Palin, Todd and Sarah's eldest daughter (at the ripe old age of 20), now owns a home in Maricopa, a Phoenix suburb in the Gila River Valley of Pinal County, according to a report by The Arizona Republic's John Faherty:
Public records show the home was built in 2006 and bought for $329,560. It went into foreclosure in January of this year.

The home was then purchased in May for $137,200 by Michael and Cynthia Smith, a couple from North Dakota, as an investment.

They fixed it up and put it back on the market.

Bristol Palin bought it this month for $172,000 in cash.

[...]

"I'm not sure why she wanted to buy that home, but we are real happy for her," said Michael Smith, 55.

"She seems like a nice girl. We're excited for her."

Bristol's mom, Faherty observes, has been a frequent visitor to Arizona since she first met with Sen. John McCain at his ranch in Sedona to discuss joining his ticket in the 2008 presidential election. Now she has a place to stay for future visits to The Grand Canyon State.

David Harsanyi: Actually, Huck, It's Palin Who Gets It

She is right on the money here
*
Gov. Palin's recent mild poke at Michelle Obama and her crusade for a more healthy children's diet has the left predictably all wee-weed up, to borrow the president's terminology. When the left gets its knickers in such a knot over something Sarah said, there is always some Vichy Republican whose undies get similarly and sympathetically twisted. In this case its Mike Huckabee whose drawers are distorted, as he has sided with the first lady.

David Harsanyi, a self-described "conservative with strong libertarian impulses,” suggests that the former governor of Arkansas is either confused "or, judging from his prior work, the kind of guy who dismisses the distinction between convincing someone and coercing someone":
The recently passed nutrition bill (the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, in Washingtonese), a key component to Mrs. Obama's plan to "end childhood obesity," is in fact both "telling people" what they should eat and "trying to force the government's desires on people."

So when Palin claims that the Obamas do not trust people "to make decisions for their own children," she is not unleashing some Bircher hyperbole; she is summing up the driving idea of two years of public policy and paraphrasing the first lady, who recently explained that when it comes to eating, "we can't just leave it up to the parents."

Mrs. Obama might be stating the obvious, but instead of placing the blame on parental incompetence or neglect or genes or whatever the reason is that kids are stuffing their little gullets with junk, she is feeding and creating myths to rationalize "action" -- whether we're talking about the lack of access to food (never have we had more access to food) or prohibitive prices (never has food -- including healthy fare -- been cheaper) or the plague of school lunches.

As for Huckabee, his history of intrusive legislation and alarmism over the crumbling salubriousness of the nation is obviously driven by his own experiences. And if you want to nag us or explain the ramifications of obesity, feel free. Certainly, potential presidents should have the ability to compromise, avoid ideological rigidity and be cognizant of national problems like obesity.

But foundational beliefs like an aversion to federal overreach into local decisions cannot be disposed of because kids happen to be part of the equation. And if Huckabee believes there's nothing wrong with the federal government controlling local school lunches and instituting national smoking bans, how many issues will he believe are more important than federalism?

Jack Cashill: The Palin 'Glaring Gaffe' That Wasn't

A "glaring gaffe" suggests Joe Biden urging a wheelchair bound man to stand up
*
American Thinker's Jack Cashill calls our attention to the Yahoo article headlined "Palin gaffe makes North Korea an ally." Author Saul Relative, engaging in the media left's favorite journo-listic pastime -- wishful thinking -- claims that Gov. Palin's remarks may have damaged her "credibility as a serious contender for a presidential bid in 2012." But as Cashill points out and is so often the case in the rush to destroy Sarah Palin, the corrupt media misses something important:
The seriousness of Palin's error hinges on the meaning of the word "sanction." Said Palin to Glenn Beck, "We're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do."

Aha, says the Yahoo reporter, the United States almost never "sanctions" anything North Korea does. Rather, it "has issued sanctions" against North Korea.

A moment later, Palin did say, "Obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies." The reporter suggests that the two statements in combination testify to Palin's "ill grasp of important matters and even poorer grasp of geography."

This alleged "glaring gaffe" hinges, of course, on Palin's use of the word "sanction." Although the reporter scolds her for misusing it, she did no such thing. As is fairly common knowledge, and as my dictionary verifies, one of the two ordinary meanings of "sanction" as a verb is "to impose a sanction or penalty" upon someone.

As to the "ally" remark, Beck quickly corrected Palin, and she just as quickly corrected herself, elaborating that the U.S. and South Korea were allies by treaty and that we were also "bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes." This was a slip of the tongue, easily erased, that would have gone unnoticed had any other politician made it.

If Yahoo wanted to do a little serious political reporting, it might have inquired as to how chief counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan, who was sitting with Clapper during his brain freeze, got his job.

*
Oregon Guy:
"In a New York Daily News story, the writer refers to 'studies' that show that less than half the kids are overweight, or obese... I don't buy all the 'studies.' What I do buy is the idea that you let people grow up. And that, friends, is the difference between Sarah and Huck. Sarah thinks of you as adults. Huck? Not so much. Or, not so much that a little government in your life wouldn't be appreciated."

Jonah Goldberg pares down the GOP presidential candidate list

And we whittle down his final five
*
Jonah Goldberg identifies 24 potential GOP presidential candidates: Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, John Thune, Tim Pawlenty, Mitch Daniels, Mike Pence, Rick Santorum, Haley Barbour, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal, Paul Ryan, David Petraeus, Ron Paul, Jeb Bush, John Bolton, Bob McDonnell, Jim DeMint, Chris Christie, Herman Cain, Gary Johnson, Judd Gregg, Marco Rubio and Rick Perry.

After eliminating those who insist they are not running, or have other options which appear too attractive top pass up, Goldberg's list reduces to the names of Romney, Gingrich, Palin, Pawlenty, Santorum, Bolton, Daniels, Cain, Johnson, Paul and Thune. This sets up Goldberg's second round of eliminations:
Paul's issues -- gutting the Federal Reserve, shrinking government, foreign policy noninterventionism, drug legalization -- are the ripest they've ever been in the GOP. But, at 75, that's just about the only way "ripe" and "Ron Paul" can be used together in a sentence.

Thune will probably discover early that his Senate colleagues telling him to run isn't necessarily a compliment. In many respects, Thune is the GOP version of John Kerry: a candidate with very presidential hair who seems "electable" despite not having done much of anything.

Bolton, the famously mustachioed and gruff former U.N. ambassador (like Gingrich, a colleague of mine at the American Enterprise Institute, where I'm a visiting fellow), is a tireless and brilliant guy, but he's never run for federal office. Presumably he wants to highlight national security issues and, I hope, duke it out with Ron Paul.

Cain, the former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza, is a charismatic superstar on the Tea Party circuit and in many rank-and-file conservative circles. An African-American who likes to joke about his "dark-horse candidacy," he's a lot more than merely a sane Alan Keyes. But it's hard to imagine him amounting to more than an exciting also-ran.

Johnson, the former New Mexico governor and a keynoter at last weekend's KushCon II, will focus attention on pot legalization. Meanwhile, Santorum, a former senator, will focus attention on Rick Santorum.
That leaves five front-runners from the original field of 24. Romney has the organization in place, but the party's conservative base doesn't trust him. Daniels is the choice of policy wonks and the D.C. "eggheads," the latter of which will also probably hurt him with the base. Gov. Palin, according to Goldberg, "probably has the most devoted following among actual voters." He predicts that Gingrich will dominate the debates, but the former Speaker will carry his baggage into those same debates. Pawlenty, according to Goldberg, is the least disliked, but in our view he's also the least inspiring.

Despite his best efforts to portray himself as a conservative, Romney is the first alternative choice of Obama voters, which only demonstrates that he can't make the sale with the GOP's conservative base. Also, all that money he spent in the 2008 contest didn't help him knock McCain out of the race, even when the Arizonan was down and hard pressed for campaign cash. Pawlenty, Daniels and Romney are all well-liked by Republican elites, which only makes them less liked by the conservative base. That leaves Professor Gingrich and Gov. Palin as the only two candidates from the final five who have the kind of conservative credentials that appeal to the base. There are some things the GOP's conservatives might be willing to forgive for both of them.

Gingrich, having gotten religion and become a Catholic, may get forgiveness from many conservatives for past personal failings, but no so much for his political sins. Though he later admitted that it was a mistake, his endorsement of liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava in New York's 23rd Congressional District will not be forgotten nor likely forgiven. Also, Gingrich's timing on global warming couldn't have been worse. He dropped his skepticism on the issue just before a majority of Americans themselves became global warming skeptics. Finally, his willingness to side with Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton on a few issues may win him points with GOP moderates, but not with the party's base.

There are some conservatives on the Republican extreme who will never forgive Sarah Palin for her support of John McCain's reelection bid in Arizona, but most understand her reasons for doing so. Though there was no love for McCain there to lose with conservatives, her loyalty and consistency are character traits they admire in the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate. The vicious attacks on her from both party's elites and the media have only served to make her more appealing to Republican conservatives and Tea Party activists, including many with a libertarian streak. Social libertarians, including rabid Ron Paul supporters, still hate her, even though she endorsed Rep. Paul's son Rand early on in his campaign for the U.S. Senate, but these "Ronulans" are a relatively tiny minority among the base.

To win the Republican nomination in 2012, Gov. Palin has to build an organization, of course. But there's no compelling reason to believe she isn't capable of doing so. She will also have to perform well in the primary debates, and she has a record of doing just that in the 2005 Alaska gubernatorial race, and though Democrats won't publicly admit it, deep down even they know she got the better of old hand Joe Biden in the 2008 vice presidential debate. As Goldberg disclaims, all this is subject to change, of course. But if she wants her party's nomination, we don't see anyone who can beat Sarah Palin for it. It's a marathon, and she's a runner who doesn't like to lose.

More Quote of the Day Honorable Mention, Part 175

"C.S.Lewis" Edition
*

The Conservative Sage:
"Palin said she reads Chronicles of Narnia author C.S. Lewis for 'inspiration.' Joy Behar, that great political thinker from ABC's 'The View' who mocks Palin relentlessly quipped 'aren't those children's books?' ... The irony is those who make a living attacking the intellect of conservatives, have shown their own ignorance by dismissing one of the most prolific Christian writers of the past century. C.S. Lewis is a well respected writer with a great body of work which far exceeds 'Narnia'. Then again, is it shocking that two flaming lefties wouldn't know a Christian writer? Perhaps not so much given the disdain that many on the left have for Christianity - which is evidenced by the consistent insults Behar has directed at Christians on The View and her own Joy Behar show on CNN Headline news."
Da Techguy:
"In addition to the other problems that the establishment has with Sarah Palin. She also calls out their religious 'personally believes' nonsense... It is when a pol says he 'personally believes' something but votes a different way..."
Brian Maloney at The Radio Equalizer:
"Did Huck just fall off of a turnip truck? He really appears to believe the Obamas are content to campaign for social change in eating habits rather than a gradual move toward laws that prohibit foods they find objectionable. Ever been to California, Mike? Just try to propose a steak house in a lefty-controlled city and watch the resulting firestorm. Could someone this naive really be considered a major presidential contender?"
Jennifer at Cubachi:
"Palin is not at all against nutrition. While in office as Governor of Alaska, she even endorsed nutrition through the private sector. She has a healthy outdoors family. She didn’t need the government for that. Huckabee is part of the big government wing of the GOP that thinks government can be a benevolent source in the lives of everyone."
TheRightScoop:
"And this my friends is why so many have concerns about the Huck. Look, no one is arguing that America hasn’t gotten more obese over the years and that it affects children more so than it used to. What we are saying is that it’s not big government’s problem to fix... We have to get back to the ideal that there are consequences to decisions we make, whether life is fair to us or not. And in this instance, big government isn’t just encouraging us to eat healthier, they are legislating it for our children. Sure, it’s public schools today, but have you listened to what these know it all libs say? They would tell us all what we could eat if they had the authority."
Doug Powers at The Powers That Be:
"I have to correct Sarah on one point — Queen Michelle did give us lowly peasants permission to eat pie on Thanksgiving, so FLOTUS isn’t entirely without mercy..."
Chris Of Rights:
"Palin brings up the plan presented by Paul Ryan (R-WI-01) last year which he calls the Roadmap for America’s Future... Sorry for quoting so much this time. It’s just that I agreed so closely with what she said. I also apologize for once again posting Palin’s words on this topic rather than Romney’s or Huckabee’s or one of the other 2012 Republican contenders. When they write something meaningful, I’ll quote them."
vain at The Sarah Palin Revolution:
"I find it interesting that Krauthammer bemoans the lack of substance from Sarah Palin. I have examined the evidence and from this have deduced... Krauthammer doesn't know how to work that Facebook Twittery thing on the interwebs so he hasn't read anything she has actually written..."
Mark Tapscott at The Washington Examiner:
"Mother Jones Washington Bureau chief David Corn is among a group of liberal and left-wing journalists who more than two years ago filed an Alaska Freedom of Information Act request for all emails sent or received by then-Gov. Sarah Palin. Their request was part of the Left's unprecedented (and continuing) assault upon Palin following her meteoric rise to national political stardom after being named Sen. John McCain's vice-presidential running mate in 2008... She is the lone object of such efforts now, I suspect, because most mainstream media editors and reporters are liberals or leftist and she drives them bonkers, so they devote extraordinary efforts to nailing her in every possible way. So... shouldn't all members of Congress, presidential appointees and senior career bureaucrats expect as a matter of course that their emails will also be the subject of multiple FOIAs from inquiring journalists?"
Sissy Willis at sisu:
"We can't help but think that Governor Romney's handlers have been monitoring Sarah Palin's ongoing, energetic embrace of the full panoply of media, old and new — most recently the riveting 'Sarah Palin's Alaska' — and mistaking the trees for the forest, or something like that."
Ian Lazaran at Conservatives 4 Palin:
"The Democrat Party and the Baltimore Sun’s David Zurawik are upset at the interview that aired on Good Morning America and Nightline between Democrat Robin Roberts and Governor Palin... If Governor Palin had performed poorly, Zurawik and the Democrat Party would be praising Democrat Roberts’ performance. If she had bombed, Zurawik and the Democrat Party would have nothing to complain about. However, since Palin performed well in a non-Fox News setting against a Democrat Party interviewer, Zurawik and the Democrat Party are lashing out at Democrat Robin Roberts... It’s pretty easy to understand why Zurawik and the Democrat Party are so upset with the interview. It destroys the Democrat Party’s talking point that Governor Palin cannot perform well in an interview that is not conducted with Fox News or conservative talk show hosts."
Robert S Welch Jr, a rare thoughtful Democrat, at The Welch Blog:
"Sarah Palin going to Haiti is good... Leave Sarah alone on this one please!"
Rodger the Real King of France at Curmudgeonly & Skeptical:
"Like most of these type lists, The 10 most powerful twits is way too touchy-feely and irrelevant for my tastes. Take the Tweet under the Obama-Medveded picture for example (ranked as the #2 most powerful). 'When Russian President joined Twitter, the White House immediately reached out to welcome him to the Twitterverse. Obama’s quote: Red phones no longer required.' Wow, that was certainly groin-grabbingly powerful. Sarah Palin's Top Ten Tweets, by contrast, were honestly delivered and caused seismic reactions within the Obamunist-Media Complex community, So, she wins."
Gregory Flap Cole at Flap's Blog:
"So, the race for the GOP Presidential nomination is really Sarah Palin’s to decide."
Vicki McClure Davidson at Frugal Café Blog Zone:
"Ultra-liberals are unbalanced hatemongers... They’re fretful of offending unnamed non-Christians by uttering the words 'Christmas party.' They believe anarchist WikiLeaks founder and accused rapist Julian Assange to be a hero (much of liberal Hollywood stood beside pedophile/child rapist Roman Polanski, so defending Assange isn’t all that much of a stretch)... And now liberal extremists in the media think it’s all in good fun to wish that Palin be tortured and murdered... Crikey, these statist sickos are soulless fools who never see their reflections when they look into mirrors."

Sarah Palin: Helping Haiti this Christmas

A suggestion...
*
Posted Wednesday by Gov. Palin on Facebook:
Helping Haiti this Christmas

If you are still looking for a cause to donate to this Christmas, allow me to make a suggestion. Todd, Bristol, Greta Van Susteren, and I recently traveled to Haiti to witness first hand the amazing work done by Rev. Franklin Graham’s organization Samaritan’s Purse. Bristol wrote about our experiences on her Facebook page here.

In an effort to fight a deadly cholera outbreak in Haiti, Samaritan’s Purse has flown over a dozen flights carrying vital medical supplies to the two cholera treatment centers it has been running since the start of the outbreak. These centers, run by medical volunteers from the U.S., Canada, and the UK, have helped save the lives of nearly 5,000 patients.

The cholera treatment centers are part of a larger Samaritan’s Purse effort aimed at restoring the human dignity and economic independence of the Haitian people. Since the disastrous earthquake in January of this year, Samaritan’s Purse has spent $29 million on relief, helping more than half a million people by building 10,000 shelters (more than half of the shelters built in Haiti to date have been put up by Samaritan’s Purse); providing non-cholera related medical assistance (including 250 surgeries) to a total of 43,000 patients; providing clean drinking water to more than 75,000 people; and clearing the rubble from 179 building sites.

None of this would have been possible without the generosity of countless small donors. With all the blessings bestowed upon us in this great country of ours, we also have an opportunity to share those blessings with people who are less fortunate. Samaritan’s Purse is doing exactly that – saving lives one person at a time.

Below you’ll find some photos of our Haiti visit taken by Greta Van Susteren. They show what we saw at a temporary housing camp, at the cholera clinics in Bercy and Cité Soleil, and at a meeting where we helped to bring smiles to children’s faces by handing out shoeboxes filled with presents as part of Samaritan's Purse’s worldwide Operation Christmas Child.

seems like improbable poverty and great malaise in a
country with so much potential.
