M Catharine Evans: Waiting for Sarah

Perhaps the "key" to Palin's attitude toward the press is that they are puppets doing Obama's bidding...
*
At the American Thinker Blog, M Catharine Evans comments that while the GOP establishment frantically scrambles to recruit Vichy Republicans to run against Sarah Palin, real conservatives can't wait for her to announce that she's running and will "fight like a girl":
After all Sarah Palin did last year to contribute to the GOP's historical 2010 win, and all that she has gone through to shine the light on true conservative values, I am amazed how some of those on the right still disparage her.

Jeff Kuhner of the Washington Times, and a fill-in host for Michael Savage, echoed leftist reporters like Susan Milligan of U.S. News and Bill Keller of the New York Times.
Mrs. Palin (should she run) may be able to win the GOP nomination. The presidency, however, is a bridge too far. The media will eviscerate her. Outside of her intense base, she is despised and distrusted. She personifies the cheap politics of celebrity.
Really, Jeff? "The media will eviscerate her?" Where have you been for the past 3 years? She is probably the most vetted politician in U.S. history. Palin has withstood accusations of murder, a barrage of bogus charges as Governor (after her 2008 election loss -- how scared are the Dems?), vicious attacks on her children, public death threats by various entertainers, a guerilla media obsessed with destroying her, and basement Obama zombies posting graphic pornographic messages about a mother of five on leftist sites. Is the governor's integrity still intact? You betcha.

Tuesday in Pella, Iowa at the cookout after the premiere of "The Undefeated" would be a good time and place, Gov. Palin, but whenever you're ready is fine with us.

M. Catharine Evans: Palin Haters Continue Assault, But Why?

Her zest for life in a culture of death makes her especially dangerous
*
M. Catharine Evans is the latest of many writers to try to explain the left's unhinged hatred for Sarah Palin:
Sarah Palin continues to be a repository for the Left's paranoia. Ever since her arrival in St. Paul, Minnesota the self-motivated, good-looking, charismatic, conservative Governor has been subjected to all-consuming assaults coming from both genders and both parties. The carnivalistic orgy of insults and torrent of false accusations have not abated, despite the general consensus that she is "unelectable."

While Palin's gender automatically makes her vulnerable in the race for the White House, (no female has ever been elected President or Vice-President), there's some deeper unknown that turned normal curiosity about an unknown candidate in 2008 into full-blown rage.

[...]

The truth is Palin likes herself and it shows. She's an oddity for sure. Her undeniable zest for life in a culture of death makes her especially dangerous and foreign to the cultivators of cynicism and political power. Palin, as a palpable symbol of American exceptionalism, comes on to the world stage at precisely the time America's greatness is being challenged from all sides. Along with the millions of real conservatives that have rallied around her message, Sarah Palin's mere existence portends a major shift away from covert and corrupt politics toward a restored vision of real hope.
