Sarah Palin on Kerry energy bill: 'Nope,wrong answer'

Sarah Palin responded on Twitter today to Sen. John Kerry's renewed call for for an energy and climate bill which is essentially a "cap and tax" measure:

"So..because BP, subcontractors & govt screwed up WE get punished w/energy tax that jacks prices & kills jobs & opportunity?Nope,wrong answer"

Kerry made the push in a Sunday appearance on ABC's "This Week" with Jake Tapper, who blogged:

Senator John Kerry (D-MA) renewed his push for an energy and climate bill this morning on “This Week.” Kerry introduced the "America Power Act" last month which would cap carbon emissions and invest in energy alternatives. Referring to those energy alternative investments Kerry told me that the U.S. is "behind in an enormous challenge globally where China, India, and others are spending billions of dollars to take the discoveries that we made, and they're taking them to the market place. Wednesday President Obama pledged to "find the votes" to pass an energy bill in the Senate. But this morning Republican Senator John Cornyn repeated his party's opposition to a comprehensive bill. "I think rather than try to hit a grand slam home run, I'd like to work with Senator Kerry and other to…hit some singles and develop nuclear power, battery technology that will help us deal with our environmental concerns."

Palin's Daughter Arrested in Wasilla for Dangerous Drunk Driving

(AP) WASILLA, ALASKA — The daughter of failed Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was arrested Thursday in Wasilla for driving drunk.

Bristol Palin, 19, was stopped by officers at about 12:40 a.m. and booked after rude behavior at the Wasilla police station for driving under the influence.

She was held for about five hours and released at about 5:30 a.m. after posting $5,000 bail, officials said.

Bristol Palin is the eldest daughter of failed Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and could be responsible for the loss of Republican John McCain's bid for president in 2006. After it was discovered she was pregnant out of wedlock, the doomed Palin GOP bid for vice president suffered repeated scandals. Governor Palin was thought to have been a book banner in Wasilla and it was reported that her son, Trig, was really Bristol's child.

(AP) LOS ANGELES — The daughter of Sen. John Kerry was arrested Thursday in Hollywood for allegedly driving drunk.

Alexandra Kerry, 36, was stopped by officers at about 12:40 a.m. and booked at the Hollywood police station for investigation of driving under the influence, Officer April Harding said.

She was held for about five hours and released at about 5:30 a.m. after posting $5,000 bail, Harding said.

She had no other details but we are sure that John Kerry's daughter is wholly innocent of these scurrilous charges.

Kerry, moveon,org still worried about Sarah Palin

The same Democrat left wing that has been insisting that Sarah Palin is politically dead must have a fear of ghosts. Gov. Palin's Washington Post op-ed exposing Obama and the Democrats' cap and trade ambitions as a cap and tax scheme has elicited strong reaction from Sen. John Kerry in a Huffington Post piece and prompted moveon.org to solicit donations to fund an anti-Palin ad.

Astounding, is it not, that a supposedly "politically dead" Sarah Palin can write one op-ed, and it causes the hard left to mobilize by sending Kerry to his keyboard and moveon.org to initiate an e-mail fundraising campaign to advertise against her?

The editors of Investor's Business Daily:

Kerry, who opposed the Cape Wind project off breezy Cape Cod because a wind farm capturing energy from ocean breezes might spoil his view, went ballistic. In a thinly veiled reference to Tina Fey's "Saturday Night Live" skit, he repeated the warm-monger mantra that the "global climate change crisis threatens our economy and national security in profound ways" and that "Gov. Palin need look no further than the view from her front porch in Alaska to see how destructive this crisis can be."

From Palin's front porch, senator, she can see "the largest private-sector energy project in history" — her "3,000-mile natural gas pipeline (that) will transport hundreds of trillions of cubic feet of our clean natural gas to hungry markets across America."

From Palin's front porch you can also see the 2,000-acre part of ANWR's frozen tundra that contains 10.4 billion barrels of recoverable oil (such estimates often underestimate actual yields) and that could supply all the oil needs of Kerry's Massachusetts for 75 years.

And from her front porch, Palin can see the Chukchi Sea northwest of Alaska's landmass. Awaiting development there, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, are 1.6 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, or 30% of the world's supply, and 83 billion barrels of oil, 4% of global conventional resources.

Sarah Palin certainly knows how to push the left's buttons. We can't wait until she is unshackled from Alaska and is free to raise funds and campaign for conservative candidates in earnest. And while she's at it, there are certain to be more op-eds exposing Obama and the Democrats for the drunken engineers they are and the train wreck they are making of Mr. Franklin's republic.

Spokesperson: Kerry didn't mean what he said

Senator John Kerry has thrown the joke he told Tuesday about Governor Sarah Palin under the bus. Or in Kerryspeak, he obviously voted for the joke before he voted against it.

Just one day after Gov. Palin stood up to the liberal Senator and returned fire, he has apparently calculated that his joke went too far, not to mention that he has lousy timing.



Kerry spokeswoman Jodi Seth told WaPo's The Sleuth:

"We stand corrected, the truth is every Democrat hopes Governor Palin is in the public eye for a long, long time, especially on the 2012 presidential ballot. Lately it's been Vice President Cheney that everyone hopes would lose the cameras and go for a long leisurely hike on the Appalachian Trail. And good grief, if anyone thinks John Kerry is afraid of strong, smart women, they sure haven't met his brilliant wife and two independent daughters. It sounds like getting crushed these last two election cycles cost some of these Republicans their sense of humor."

Interesting statement. Ms. Seth admits that (1) John Kerry doesn't always mean what he says; (2) He really thinks that Gov. Palin is a "strong, smart" woman; (3) Dick Cheney has been so effectively kicking the Democrats' behinds on the issues that they wish he would just go away; and (4) the Senator from Taxachusetts is so arrogant that he speaks for "everyone" and their hopes.

The latest Kerry flip-flop is the second Palin victory in as many weeks over two high-profile leftists. By standing up to David Letterman's creepy sexism, she forced him to apologize two weeks ago. Now, by giving Kerry a taste of his own medicine, she has forced him to admit that the Senator's words have an expiration date (a characteristic he shares with President Barack Obama).

"We cannot spare this woman – she fights."

Palin to Kerry: "Why The Long Face?"

In Kosovo just hours ago, Gov. Sarah Palin spoke to a group of servicemen and
answered Sen. John Kerry's joke that he wished Palin had been the governor who went missing:

"He looked quite frustrated and he looked so sad. I just wanted to reach out to the TV and say 'John Kerry, why the long face?'"

One of the Camp Bondsteel soldiers captured a good part of the governor's address here.

Does Kerry moonlight as a writer for Creepy Dave?

One would think Sen. John Kerry (D-Cambodia) would have realized by now that his idea of humor doesn't go over very well. It must be because he's a nasty person, and his pathetic attempts at being funny just turn out to be... well, nasty.

He should have remembered the firestorm he set off with this crack:



That prompted this response from the First Brigade, 34th Infrantry Division of the Minnesota National Guard, which was deployed to Iraq at the time:



Yes, the photo was for real, not photo shopped. The outcry from both sides of the aisle was so loud that Kerry was forced to offer up an excuse disguised as an apology, which was just as lame as the joke.

After all that, you would think that Kerry would avoid trying his hand at humor, but the nasty in him just can't stay bottled up. On top of that, he has lousy timing, and tried to attacked Sarah Palin when it was still thought that Gov. Mark Sanford was somewhere on the Appalachian Trail. Kerry told a gathering of Boston business and civic leaders Tuesday:

"Too bad," Kerry said, "if a governor had to go missing it couldn't have been the governor of Alaska. You know, Sarah Palin."

Even joking that you are hoping for a member of the political opposition to disappear is... nasty.

But he's a Democrat. Nasty is what they do.
