Welcome to Sarah's world, leftist women

*
Curt at Flopping Aces weighs in on the left wing women who find Vanity Fair's smear job against Sarah Palin to be over the top:
I have to say, I’m a bit surprised that the liberal feminists who have taken every opportunity they could to attack Sarah Palin have now come out to defend her from the disgusting Vanity Fair article that was released yesterday...

[...]

How bad was this article? So bad that Shannyn Moore, a liberal Palin hater like no other, attacked the writer of the Vanity Fair hit piece:
I don’t give a rip what you said about me – though it was so completely wrong, and put me in such a completely inaccurate and unfavorable light people are mad on my behalf.

Fine thanks for Alaskan hospitality. I have extended the Alaska Spirit to dozens of journalists and visitors, and I will continue to do so. It’s on YOU, not me, as you are the only one who has broken agreements with sources you promised complete anonymity.

I’m sure you’re thrilled to be on TV now. Just know, like Sarah, Alaskans paid a price for it. Specifically, a 79-year old woman, with failing health, who spoke to you under anonymity who hopes her adult children will speak to her again.

Shame on you. You’re not a writer…you’re a climber.

With no respect,
Shannyn Moore

While I find it heartening that these liberals are backing Sarah regarding this article, I find it a bit hard to feel sorry for them being used the way they were. These same people were not so worried about the truth vs. fiction regarding Sarah way back when. Trig not the baby of Sarah…Sarah spending too much on clothes…Sarah baaaaad.

But now that they have been treated the same way, they are now upset.

I don’t think I have ever seen these “feminists” back Sarah against these unfair attacks before so color me skeptical that they have now seen the light.
We share Curt's skepticism. And what Moore is upset about is not VF author Gross' hatchet job on Gov. Palin. Moore slimes the governor and tells as many lies about her in one day as Gross did in one hatchet job. And Moore it does every day of the year, sometimes several times a day. No, what has Moore's knickers in a knot is that Gross outed Moore's friends, sources he had agreed to cover for, not his bearing of false witness against Sarah Palin. Make no mistake here -- Gross, Moore and most of the other leftist women who lost their mud over this article share a common goal, and that is to drive Sarah Palin's poll numbers down and ultimately destroy her politically. And if Sarah's husband, children, friends or supporters get wounded in the process, well they're simply casualties of war, from the leftist POV. These leftists still believe like Alinsky and Lenin that the ends justify the means. This is war, after all. C'est la guerre.

Note to General Shannyn Moore et al: It's Hard for Palin to Write a Book When She is Having a Nervous Breakdown

*
Just in case you haven't heard, Sarah Palin is writing a book.

Contrary to what the left nut roots want to throw out there via innuendo and rumor via the Star/Globe/Shannyn Moore network.

Me thinks a nice place along the East Coast near ghost writers is the proper location.

Mrs. Devon, keep playing the mooosey pictures of Who's Bob Poe over and over again, they make nice pictures for campaign literature for a 2010 governor candidate.

How about a nice Howard Dean scream?

A picture of Shannyn Moore:

Caption this: Shannyn Moore's look when she finds out that her saving Private Griffin moment comes back to haunt (CAN YOU SAY BIRTHERS X 2) their group during the 2010 governor's race in Alaska.

Shannyn, target aquired, bombs away... Direct hit...

As they say, politics is local...

More HuffPo Horse Poo

It's a Sarah Palin Twofer for Huffington Post today. TX4P has already debunked a distortion made by one of that website's diarists today.

Now another diarist, Shannyn Moore, who uses her personal blog and a two-hour weekly talk show on an Anchorage radio station mostly to kick Sarah Palin around, has shown that she never lets facts get in the way of a good Palin-bashing. Moore begins her HuffPo diary today with this:
"Writing is hard. I struggle..."
Then she goes on to show that she's not up to the task. Speculating on Gov. Palin's recent book deal, Moore cites Alaska law on outside employment, then adds:
"I'm not an attorney, but, after reading the details of the statutes, they seem specific and unambiguous; the governor can't be paid for other employment."
No, Moore is no attorney, but had she done some actual research, she would have learned that Alaska's Department of Law has already looked into the matter and given its opinion, one which blows Moore's "Law for Dummies" legal interpretation out of the water:
Fairbanks Republican Rep. Jay Ramras has suggested the Alaska Department of Law produce a legal opinion specifically on whether Palin could leave the state for a book tour. The law department has looked into whether the governor having a book contract conflicts with the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Acts, including its prohibition on accepting outside "employment for compensation."

The department concluded a book contract isn't employment, because it's not regular work for a salary or wage. State employees are allowed to provide services for their own financial benefit as long as it's on their own time, does not conflict with their official duties and does not involve using state equipment or resources, said the legal opinion, signed by deputy attorney general Richard Svobodny.

"A book publication project is compatible with your position as governor so long as it does not interfere with your official duties," Svobodny wrote to Palin.
Now when I say "research," I'm not talking about long hours toiling at the library. All Moore had to do was read the Anchorage Daily News report on the book deal, and she would have known a fact which directly contradicts the wishful thinking she put her name to and had published on a nationally-read website.

No, Ms. Moore, writing isn't all that hard if the writer does his or her homework, which you failed to do. And that is why you struggle. I worked over 20 years in broadcasting, and I've written everything from radio commercials to news copy. One thing I've learned over the years is that research - getting your facts straight - is half the battle.

This calls to mind one of my favorite Ronald Reagan quotes. It's from "A Time for Choosing," one of the greatest political speeches ever delivered, so great that it came to be known simply as "The Speech":
"Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so."
Diarist, correct thyself.
