Levi Johnston admits he lied about the Palins

Levi Johnston has admitted in a statement via People magazine that he lied about Sarah Palin and her family in media quotes and magazine interviews:

"Last year, after Bristol and I broke up, I was unhappy and a little angry. Unfortunately, against my better judgment, I publicly said things about the Palins that were not completely true. I have already privately apologized to Todd and Sarah. Since my statements were public, I owe it to the Palins to publicly apologize."

"So to the Palin family in general and to Sarah Palin in particular, please accept my regrets and forgive my youthful indiscretion. I hope one day to restore your trust."

In a highly publicized interview with Vanity Fair last year, Johnston claimed that neither Todd nor Sarah Palin cook, and their children had to prepare their own meals. He claimed that there was "a lot of talk of divorce" in the Palin home, and that Gov. Palin didn't hunt nor know anything about guns.

Common-sense Americans never believed Johnston's anti-Palin nonsense, but gullible leftists who hate Sarah Palin wanted Levi's lies to be true so much that they accepted them as truth without question. Among them, a group of bloggers in Alaska whose entire lives consist of trying to destroy Gov. Palin through the use of lies like those told by Johnston. Levi's mea culpa means they and other Palin-haters will no doubt be stuck on the spin cycle for an indefinite period of time. Now that Levi has admitted to bearing false witness against the Palin family, he will no long be the fair-haired boy of the drooling anti-Palin forces. Watch them turn on him like a pack of rabid wolves.

Source: Palin-Discovery deal is 'in the bag'

A spokesman for Sarah Palin is referring questions about the much-talked-about pending deal with Discovery networks to cablecast her "Sarah Palin's Alaska" documentary series to producer Mark Burnett's office. But Burnett is not returning requests for comment. Nor are Discovery's spokespersons. So the reports of a deal on the verge of being done remain unconfirmed.

However, People Magazine has a source at the Discovery Channel who says an agreement is "in the bag":

According to everyone from Variety to The Washington Post, the series Sarah Palin's Alaska has been picked up for a reported $1-million-plus per episode.

Variety says Palin's project with reality-TV rainmaker Mark Burnett "will center on interesting characters, traditions and attractions in the 49th state – with the ex-VP candidate as a guide."

Sarah Palin answers questions from People mag readers

For their interview with Sarah Palin, People Magazine's editors asked the former governor questions which were submitted by their readers. Here are a couple, with Mrs. Palin's responses:

As a military wife, and mother of two special-needs children, I wonder what you can recommend to keep my sanity during the long deployments with two children who are very trying at times. – Erin Pruneda, Ft Campbell, Ky.  
Oh, man. That just gives me goosebumps. See, these gals have it so much tougher than I did... The sanity is sweat – going out for a walk or a run and taking the kids with you so that they realize that these fun physical activities are good for them, too.

Bristol and Tripp: People Mag Cover Story

We haven't seen the hard copy of the magazine yet, but the story on the People website treats Bristol Palin fairly. It's out of character for the drive-by gossip media to say anything about the Palin clan without injecting a heavy shot of snark, so that alone is newsworthy. Here's an excerpt:

"Her mom may be governor, but there is no nanny in the Palin house. Bristol gets up – usually twice during the night – to feed Tripp, who sleeps in a hand-me-down crib in her bedroom, and she says she has tapped out at least one school paper with her son crying in the background... nd she worked two part-time jobs to help pay for the diapers and formula her parents otherwise supply."
