Just To Clear Things Up

As a lot of you know, I had an encounter in West Hollywood the other day with an unhinged guy who was yelling hateful things at me about my Mom. The press has only shown a part of the encounter, so many reporters have totally missed the point of my comments. Most people may have walked away rather than go up to some guy raging like that and try to find out what his problem is. But that’s not how I’m wired. I usually do walk away, but I'm very tired of hateful people lying about my Mom, my family, and myself. So, this time I tried to get to the bottom of it.

I asked the guy if the reason he was so angry at my Mom was because he was gay. I was NOT baiting him or mocking him or in any way being derogatory of gays. It was just the opposite! I know that some members of the gay community have completely false notions about my Mom. I wanted to clear this up with this guy, but he was so far gone in his crazy hatred that rational conversation was impossible.

I think so much of the hatred directed at my Mom is based on lies and misconceptions about her and our family. It’s gotten so out of control that a 40-something guy in West Hollywood started shrieking obscenities at the top of his lungs and wishing death on my Mom, just at the thought of her. She hasn't done anything to warrant his hatred, and I wanted to address that.

As I said to that hate-filled guy in West Hollywood: Show me one thing my Mom has done that is so “evil” as to warrant the hatred and death wishes people heap on her and her kids.

The crazy guy had no answer because there is no answer. You can disagree with her politics without vilifying her or lying about us.

Isn’t it time for this crazy hatred to stop? That’s what I was trying to say to that guy.

The political left cannot handle the truth about Sarah Palin so they consistently bear false witness against the first woman to be both governor of Alaska and the vice presidential nominee of the Republican Party.

For example, the leftist blogs are regurgitating a bogus Democrat talking point that the book signing at Minnesota's Mall of America was poorly attended. Sewer blog Wonkette and its fellow travelers in the leftosphere are prevaricating, as they are inclined to do every time they put up a post about Gov. Palin and her family, when they claim that "only 300 people showed up to attend the Sarah and Bristol Palin book signing of Bristol’s new memoir... The family abandoned the stage half an hour before the end of the time slot because there was nobody left."

That's the lie. However, the Associated Press, a media institution which has not exactly been friendly to Gov. Palin, reported:

"The mall estimates about 1,500 people turned out..."

1500 people showed up for the signing? But, but, but... that would mean that leftists are lying when they insist that only 300 turned out.

Let's check another source. According to local television station KSTP-TV:

"A crowd at Mall of America waited hours to see ex-Alaska governor Sarah Palin, her husband Todd, their daughter Bristol and her son Tripp."

The crowd "waited hours" to see Gov. Palin and her family? How can that be, when the "progressive" prevaricators claim that few showed up and nobody stayed? Who are you going to believe, liberals or your lying eyes and ears?

Here's a third source. From the account by local CBS affiliate WCCO-TV:

"People lined up throughout the day at the Mall of America in Bloomington as Bristol Palin made an appearance for her new memoir..."

Throughout the day? My, my. There you have no less than three independent sources that expose the liberal lie for what it is.

The source for the bottom-feeding bloggers' bullsh*t offensive seems to be a disingenuous account posted by Jessica Lussenhop at the untrustworthy site City Pages. According to her Linked In profile, Lussenhop attended the "Academy for Alternative Journalism" and the leftist Journolister factory otherwise know as the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Oh, and she also did some time at Ms. Magazine. No agenda-driven distortion by Ms. Lussenhop, no ma'am.

So why the lie? Even if a lefty journo hates Sarah Palin with a purple passion, why intentionally write a dishonest account of something as relatively pedestrian as a book signing and then put your name behind it? There's just one logical conclusion. It's not just hate at work here, but fear as well. The left is so afraid of Sarah Palin as a potential threat to the faux socialist utopia they are clumsily constructing that they will do literally anything, even lie their sorry butts off, to maintain the narrative that she does not enjoy the popular support that we see displayed for her everywhere she goes.

It's not that the left cannot recognize the truth about Sarah Palin. They just can't handle it. So they tell lies about her. If they weren't so evil they'd be pathetic.

To get Sarah Palin’s autograph, fans had to buy either America By Heart or Going Rogue.

Bristol Palin, the eldest daughter of the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, said that she would like to see her mother run for president.

As to whether Sarah Palin had already made up her mind? "She definitely knows," Bristol Palin said during an appearance on Fox News.

That's a provocative answer, especially as Sarah Palin heads on Tuesday to Iowa, the key 2012 stomping grounds for Republican candidates, for a screening of a biopic about her, "The Undefeated."

Three Bristol Palin Book Signing Appearances Announced

With her book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far released by William Morrow and now on sale, Bristol Palin will be on the road for several book signing events.

The single mom and motivational speaker will appear at the Mall of America rotunda from 6 to 8 p.m. June 29 in Bloomington, MN, a return to the Twin Cites where her mother accepted the GOP vice presidential nomination during the hurricane-truncated 2008 RNC convention in St. Paul.

Bristol is scheduled for another book signing at the Books-A-Million store in Birmingham, AL's Colonial Brookwood Village July 6 at 7 p.m. The eldest Palin daughter at 20 years old also has an appearance scheduled for signing her new book July 9 at 2:00 PM at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Desert Ridge Marketplace in Phoenix, AZ. All times are local time.

Some of the buzz from bits of her book is covered by the lamestream media here. The Massey brothers talk about their upcoming project with Bristol for the Bio Channel here. It's not nearly as "salacious" as the gossip media is trying to spin it.

Bristol Palin's new book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far tells a story of "deception and disappointment," according to AP television writer Frazier Moore's article in the entertainment section of the Washington Examiner. But the book also chronicles how the 20-year old single mother learned how to face those challenges "head-on with courage and grace," says HarperCollins.

The memoir, co-written with Nancy French, is scheduled for publication by William Morrow next week. The Associated Press purchased a copy Friday.

Palin's book covers growing up with her family, which she portrays affectionately, and the excitement of her mother's political life as governor and then, in 2008, as the GOP vice presidential candidate. But the main theme is her on-and-off-again relationship with Johnston, with whom she had a child and was briefly engaged while caught in a media spotlight.

She blasts him as "the gnat named Levi Johnston constantly spreading false accusations against our family" and calls him a self-involved slacker "who cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates."

But Palin, self-described as a good girl and straight-A student, had been drawn to him and his bad-boy manner from the time they met in seventh grade.

Only by the eighth home pregnancy test, she writes, was she convinced of the positive results.

When she told her parents, they were accepting, not condemning, she writes, and focused on the future, particularly her continuing education.

Johnston's reaction wasn't so reassuring: "Better be a (bleeping) boy," he declared.

Once Bristol accepted the fact that Johnston could not be relied upon to be a faithful husband and responsible father to their son, she dumped him and started concentrating on building a life for herself and Tripp. Once an assistant in a dentist's office in Anchorage, she went on to become a Candies Foundation teen ambassador, a motivational speaker, and a contestant on "Dancing With The Stars." She made a good real estate investment which should soon provide her with rental income, and she's set to co-star in a new television series on the Bio channel. Bristol Palin has come a long way, baby, and she's discover that not only is there life after Levi, but it beats life with Levi hands down.

Washington Whispers columnist Paul Bedard at U.S. News reports that applications by Sarah and Bristol Palin to trademark their names and images have cleared a major hurdle and should soon be approved for the potential presidential candidate and her eldest daughter:

Sources close to the process tell our Suzi Parker that nobody challenged Sarah Palin's trademark application. Today is the deadline to do so. They also say that Bristol Palin's went unchallenged. That deadline passed June 10.

Each should receive their trademark within three months, said the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The clear sailing for both Palins is something of a surprise considering the attention they draw from detractors.

According to both applications, the Palins wanted to make sure that only they could use their names, especially in political circles.

Kyle Massey, 19, is an ex-child star best known for his role as the pesky little brother on the Disney Channel sitcom, That's So Raven (2003-07). Bristol's new reality-show gig with Massey should be good news for her and her family, but Palin Derangement Syndrome dictates otherwise. A National Enquirer story that got picked up and elaborated by the London Daily Mail this week carries the headline, "Mama Grizzly strikes again: Sarah Palin 'furious' at Bristol's new Disney Show star boyfriend."

As might be expected, this rumor-mongering story cites unnamed "sources" about an alleged romance between Massey and Bristol: "Sarah is furious at Bristol for going so quickly from man to man. She is doing her best to prevent Bristol's new relationship from being featured in the reality show."

Which would be very interesting, if true. But it's not true, according to Massey's mother, Angel Massey:

"They are not dating," she reveals while laughing. "They're good friends. I understand the media wants to push sales or whatever, but no, they're not dating."

Angel goes on to say, "Both of our families gelled during Dancing with the Stars. Sarah would be in the audience cheering for Kyle, and we'd be in the audience rooting for Bristol. We all became close."

Mama Massey adds, "The Palins are really funny, nice and genuinely warm to us."

"Funny, nice and genuinely warm"? No wonder the liberal media ignored Angel Massey's denial. It would ruin their anti-Palin narrative.

BIO has ordered ten half-hour episodes of an untitled Bristol Palin/Massey brothers docu-series from Associated Television International, it was announced today by David McKillop, Executive Vice President, Programming, A&E Network and BIO Channel. The series follows Bristol Palin’s move from Alaska to Los Angeles with her son, Tripp, to work at a small charity in need while living with her good friends Chris and Kyle Massey. The series is slated to air in late 2011.

She’s the most famous single mother in America. And she became a national media darling during her odds-defying, ratings record-breaking run on “Dancing with the Stars.” Now as Bristol Palin gears up for her work in this charity, she is allowing cameras exclusive access into her personal life for the first time.

While on “Dancing,” Bristol became extremely close with fellow contestant, actor Kyle Massey. For ten years, The Candie's Foundation has been working to prevent teen pregnancy by producing and funding celebrity-driven print, television, radio and online public service announcements. Ms. Palin was compensated for her work with the foundation, which included appearing in video and print PSAs, two town hall meetings, and numerous media interviews.

The message of the foundation about teen pregnancy prevention has generated more than ONE BILLION media impressions – tremendous reach for any teen pregnancy prevention campaign. We know that Ms. Palin's work has had a positive effect on teens. In a recent independent national survey of 1,000 teens that compared a Bristol Palin PSA with those of another national teen pregnancy organization that use non-famous teens, more than twice as many teens (57% vs. 27%) said Bristol's PSA "got my attention", three times as many (41% vs. 11%) said it was "powerful", and more than twice as many (38% vs. 16%) said it was "memorable".

Bristol Palin to speak at Birth Choice event in Oklahoma

Birth Choice of Oklahoma, a volunteer organization that provides free services to pregnant young women, announces that Bristol Palin will be the guest speaker for the organization's Annual Life of the Party Charity Dinner and Auction. Bristol will share her personal story about choosing life.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 26. The Dinner and Auction will be followed by the annual Celebration of Life award presentation. Teens flock to California church to hear Bristol Palin

The Whittier Daily News reports that teens from across the Southwest made their way to Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Arcadia, California Saturday to hear Bristol Palin speak about the dangers facing today's youth:

The speech was part of Lovefest, an annual two-day church event that focuses on teens and values. The event held in a church tent familiar to the revival circuit, where youngsters listened to Palin's speech.

From there, the children broke into smaller classes to focus on a array of teen issues - from dating to safely navigating the Internet.

Palin was brought in to serve as a role model and to talk candidly about her experience as a teenage mom. Children came from across Southern California and from as far away as Nevada, church officials said.

"She came right out and said, `I've been criticized and called an hypocrite because I was taking a stance on abstinence and I said I don't want you to go through this,"' said Dave Sweeney, co-founder of the Love Fest. "She implored young people to not to listen to those who say abstinence is not a big deal."

"We didn't want this to turn into a political event," said Roger Sonnenberg, pastor of Our Saviour Lutheran Church.

But there was no denying the effect of Palin's star power on the children.

On Pollutico's Click blog, Karen Tanabe believes she's found evidence that a book could be forthcoming from Bristol Palin:

A book listing on Amazon, under the heading "Untitled Bristol Palin Memoir,” says that the 304-page book is due to hit the shelves June 21.

According to the Amazon listing, the memoir will be published by William Morrow & Co., an imprint of Harper Collins. Neither the publisher nor Palin's rep immediately responded to requests for comment.

Back in November, says Tanabe, some friends of the Palin family allegedly told PopEater that Bristol was working on a book, the nature of which was undisclosed. But since PopEater's "reporting" on all matters Palin has been spectacularly wrong, no one was listening.

University Bans Bristol, Spreads Oppression, Bigotry, Hate

Jonathon Burns imagines a scenario in which Washington University’s student government had treated Al Sharpton the way it treated Bristol Palin:

Sharpton would OWN the media cycle. He’d have the heads of the entire Washington University administration. He’d demand to speak. He’d demand a higher honorarium. He’d demand greater minority employment, and a Wash U contribution to Sharpton’s National Action Network. Plus, he’d want public apologies from dozens of people, sensitivity training for the student government, and a host of other minor concessions. He’d publicly embarrass the students and the school for their patent racism.

Millions of college students have been indoctrinated with the importance of diversity – so long as that diversity includes approved races, ethnicities, political ideologies, backgrounds, etc. If you’re conservative, from a rural area, and you’re supporting abstinence, well, let’s just say that kind of diversity isn’t desired.

No, instead of supporting diversity, the celebrated ideal of college land, let’s applaud and bow to bigotry.

And of course the Establishment Media is in lock step behind the bigots. Huffington Post and St. Louis’ own Riverfront Times each attacked Bristol (instead of the bigots).

Let’s not kid ourselves, here. what has transpired at Wash U is nothing short of bigotry and hate.

The leftists are attempting to cloak that bigotry and hate by arguing that that their main reason for banning Bristol is that they consider her speakers fee to be too expensive. But Burns refudiates that lie by pointing out that Gloria Steinem, whose usual fee is $20,000, plus two round trip first class tickets, was brought to Washington University to speak last spring:

No, these antics by a pocket of the student body weren’t about money. They were about shutting down, boxing out and otherwise suppressing Bristol. They were about preventing a point of view from being expressed on their campus simply because they didn’t like the Bristol’s ethnicity. So they decided to use heavy intimidation.

We disagree with Burns on one minor point. Bristol's ethnicity has nothing to do with it. Her surname and her point of view, on the other hand, have everything to do with it. If her name were Bristol Boxer or Bristol Biden, and she had intended to speak against abstinence, she would have been welcomed by campus "progressives" with open arms.

But such supposition and imagination have no place in the 1972 world of campus radicalism these leftists live in. Back here in the real world, Bristol's attorney issued this statement:

"Bristol was invited to speak with college students as part of a panel. Evidently she has now been disinvited because of apparent concerns by some vocal members of the undergraduate community.”

“Bristol is deeply disappointed that an institution that publicly claims to 'listen to diverse and sometimes conflicting perspectives, to contribute rigorous academic standards and unbiased scholarship to discussions, and to encourage a civil discourse in which a pluralistic society can respectfully address complex and difficult issues' would withdraw an invitation to a speaker because of 'uproar' over their assumed content of her message or even worse, because of her last name."
