It seems there will not be just one, but two groups of Texans going to Iowa to see Gov. Palin keynote the Restoring America TEA Party event September 3. We reported on the Dallas bus last month. There will also be a group of Texans headed to Waukee, IA from the Houston area.

In a road trip organized by the Southeast & Gulf Coast TexasO4Palin chapter, a large passenger van will depart the Bayou City at 6PM September 1, returning on Sunday the 4th.

Sarah Palin returns to Houston in October, Dallas in November (Updated)

*
According to the Houston Chronicle's religion blog, Gov. Palin will be back in the Bayou City in October to deliver the keynote address at a benefit for a pregnancy crisis charity:
Houston's First Baptist Church will host the event, held by Heroic Media, an anti-abortion charity that "celebrates the heroism of motherhood."

The former governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate took a stance against abortion because of her conservative political beliefs and Christian faith.

Palin has been able to win over the support of fellow hockey mom types, who can relate to her and admire her values.

[...]

She'll address the crowd at "Heroes Among Us" in Houston on October 5 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $50 and will be available at heroricmedia.org closer to the event.
This will be the first appearance in the Houston area for the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate since February, when she campaigned with Gov. Rick Perry at a rally in Cypress.

Update: Ticket information for the Houston event is here.

Heroic Media also has an event planned for November 10 in Dallas with Gov. Palin as keynote speaker. The location will be announced at a later date.

Sarah stops traffic in downtown Houston

*
Television station KHOU reported this morning that traffic in downtown Houston ground to a halt around the Toyota Center as crowds of people made their way inside to attend the "Get Motivated" seminar where Sarah Palin was speaking.

Well, you don't think that Colin Powell or Rudy Giuliani, who were also on the program along with some others, were who the throng rushed in to see, do you?

Get Motivated By Sarah Palin

*
Sarah Palin is scheduled to join the Get Motivated! Business Seminar series for the event in Houston, Monday, February 8.  She will be among friends, as Rudy Giuliani and Terry Bradshaw are also scheduled to speak, and a foe, as Colin Powell will be there too.

Gov. Palin will address the following topics:
• How to Successfully Manage and Balance Your Personal and Professional Priorities

• How to Overcome Obstacles with Creative Solutions

• The Secrets to Effective Decision-Making

• How to Have Grace Under Fire

• How to Become a Person of Influence
We contacted Get Motivated! and were assured that Sarah Palin was booked through her agents, the Washington Speakers Bureau.  For "security reasons" the event people would not tell us what time of day the governor is scheduled to speak. We figure it will have to be fairly close to the 8:00 AM (Texas Time) start of the seminar, since Gov. Palin is also scheduled for afternoon and evening (California Time) speeches the same day at a logging conference in Redding, CA.

It will be a busy day for the first woman to be the vice presidential candidate of the Republican Party.
