Sarah Palin in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Via the Argus Leader:
History propelled them forward, an event that taught them to accept a cruel South Dakota winter's fate and stand for hours in line to see - and talk with - Sarah Palin, ex-Alaska governor, ex-vice presidential candidate and perceived front-runner for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Palin came to Sioux Falls on a blustery, snow-flecked Sunday evening - wind chill 2 degrees - to sign copies of her book, "Going Rogue: An America Life." Her audience: hundreds of stout Midwesterners who converged on the city's busiest street corner to be part of something big.

"It wasn't a three-dog night, it was more a six-dog night," Michelle Siert of Madison said. She was dressed in a pink T-shirt - she gave one to Palin - that read 'The Sky's the Limit' with Palin's face added to Mount Rushmore.

"She inspires me 100 percent. I read her book in two days and I'll do it all again. It was worth it to be here all night."
