Charity auction update: Dinner with Sarah and Todd

With a little less than six days to go, the ebay bid for dinner for five with Sarah Palin is currently well over $38,000. The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate has joined some other notables in volunteering their names and time to the charity auction, with all proceeds to benefit Ride 2 Recovery, which supports cycling programs for injured veterans. Bidding, as we reported Tuesday, opened at $25,000.

The Book of Sarah Progress Report (July 15, 2009)

When we published our last update, we promised to check back in after The Book of Sarah, an informational website which chronicles the political career of Gov. Palin, had its 1,000th item posted.

That milestone was reached Sunday, thanks in no small part to the media buzz over Gov. Palin's announcement July 3 that she would resign later this month. We added quite a few items from 2008 and the first quarter of 2009 as well. The site is considerably more robust now, and news reports, op-eds, editorials, blog posts, videos, photos and such are being added on a daily basis. We will continue to add new items as they are published, and we'll be filling the gaps with older material as well.

If you're aware of an item that is conspicuous by its absence from The Book of Sarah, please e-mail us or post a comment. Be sure to include a link to the source. We hope you will use this web resource for your research on Gov. Sarah Palin, or if you need a documented source to back up a point you want to make on a political discussion forum.

After the 2008 election, Sarah Palin was liberated from the constraints that the McCain campaign staff had placed on her. Now, as a new chapter in her career is being written, she will be free from the limitations of the Alaska governors office. It should be an exciting journey, and we will will be documenting it every step of the way, both on this blog and at The Book of Sarah.

The Book of Sarah Progress Report (May 21, 2009)

Since the last update on May 5, 150 new links to news stories, press releases, photos, videos, MP3s, PDFs and blog posts have been added to The Book of Sarah, a website which chronicles the career of Gov. Palin. There are now 450 items in the catalog, and they go all the back to an ADN story from October 2 of 1996 reporting that Sarah Palin had won the Wasilla mayoral contest. On the other end of the Sarah Palin timeline, I'm now adding links for March of this year.

The fairly comprehensive group of Sarah Palin sidebar links are now found exclusively on The Book of Sarah, and moving them there has allowed me to pare down the links on this blog to a more manageable level. No more having to slam in every link twice!

There are, of course many more links to be added, but the process of finding, evaluating and posting them is a rather plodding and time-consuming process. Research is like that most of the time, LOL. Still, there are plenty of links to information which I'm sure you'll find useful.

Arm yourself with the truth about Gov. Palin and get it out there into the blogosphere and on political discussion sites! The Palin-hatin' blogs are still working overtime to smear her, and the governor's "Praetorian Guard" needs to rise up in greater numbers in her defense!

Thanks,

- JP

The Book of Sarah Progress Report (May 5, 2009)

Recently I announced the launch of The Book of Sarah, a catalog site of links to news stories, press releases, photos, videos, MP3s, PDFs and blog posts which chronicle the career of Gov. Palin.

In the intervening ten days, hundreds of items have been added to the catalog, which now has about 300 entries, most of them from 2008 and earlier. Plus, I have started getting current year information plugged in, and the first set of links for January, 2009 are now up. Thanks to all those who have sent me links. Your help is very much appreciated.

Most of the infrastructure work has been done, and I've copied the extensive set of Sarah Palin links from this blog to the new site. There's still some work to be done with the links, as I don't want to have to maintain duplicate links on two sites. The Book of Sarah will be the primary source for Sarah Palin links, and the links here will be pruned down to a subset of those on the catalog site.

If you visit the site, you're sure to find something interesting to blog about, start a thread on a political discussion forum or debunk a leftist lie about the governor in an ongoing political debate.

Get the truth out about Sarah Palin and help counter the blitz of negative smears the Palin-haters flood the web with every day!

Thanks,

- JP
