Todd Palin takes some time off the North Slope

Word comes from Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton that Todd Palin resigned from his North Slope oil production job with BP last month. His resignation was effective September 18.

According to Ms. Stapleton, the former First Dude wanted to spend more time with his family, and this is one of those times when that familiar phrase is likely to really mean what it says. Todd and Sarah have been co-breadwinners for over two decades now, and for the first time in their lives, neither is under pressure to punch the old time clock. Thanks to the former governor's book advance and speaker fees from her recent address to investors in Asia, both can afford to spend more time with the family.

Us Mag: Palins to attend correspondent's dinner

According to Us Magazine, Todd and Sarah Palin will be
guests of the Fox News Channel Saturday night at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C.

Add this to the buzz that the governor will be in New York Friday to visit Alaska House, and it sounds like another whirlwind weekend (see here and here) for the former vice presidential candidate, if the reports are true.
