TLC Video: Counting Fish (Outtake)

Responsible, Scientific Natural Resource Management
*
Here's an outtake (deleted scene) from "Sarah Palin's Alaska" where Sarah, Todd and Piper meet with Tim Sands of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Tim's count of Sockeye (red) salmon ultimately determines when fisherman can catch the fish and when they cannot. This management strategy allows a sufficient quantity of this variety of Salmon time to swim upsteam and spawn, assuring that the species will reproduce in abundant numbers.

"Sarah Palin's Alaska" is shown Sunday nights at 9/8c on TLC with an encore showing at 11/10c.
