Romney: Sarah Palin is qualified to be president

*
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney exploded a few heads on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program Wednesday when he told the show's usual suspects that he believed former Alaska Gov. and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is qualified to be president.

Romney was on the program to promote his book No Apologies: The Case for American Greatness. In response to direct questions from co-host Joe Scarborough, he also said that George W. Bush was a good president and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is a true conservative.

"Let’s bring her down"

There was never any doubt about it for Sarah Palin supporters, and many uncommitted knew it too. We knew. We all knew, and we blogged about it, wrote letters to the editors about it amd told everyone who would listen to us about it. Yet the media elites denied it.

But Mika Brzezinski finally made it official on Morning Joe Monday:
"Let me make this clear because this is my world and these are the people I’ve worked with for twenty years. Members of the network media elite as well as members and people who worked for the New York Times, when Sarah Palin first came on the scene and this is what they knew about her: She was a woman, she was pro-life, and she had some very, very conservative views on other issues. And all I could hear from my friends in the network media elite was, 'Let’s bring her down. I hope these rumors bring her down.' And at a party where there were people from the New York Times, all they would talk about is the rumors that they hoped would bring her down. They did not know her. They didn’t know anything about her. But they wanted to bring her down."
