Rep. Jim Moran is a Moron

Democrat Congressman Jim Moran, who represents Virginia's 8th District, doesn’t consider serving in the military to be public service. Here's Moran The Moron at the October 6th meeting of the Arlington County Democratic Committee:

Moran’s opponent happens to be Col. Patrick Murray (US Army-Ret.), who served 24 years in uniform, was deployed to four different combat zones, including Baghdad, as part of the 2007 troop surge under Gen. David Petraeus, and was even shot at by foreign combatants. If that isn’t public service, I don’t know what is.

Paper shuffling in Washington, apparently. And this was not Moran’s only military-related misstep.

On October 11th, the Military Officers Association of America sent a letter to the Moran campaign requesting that the congressman stop distributing a flyer clearly implying that MOAA had endorsed Moran for reelection.

It did not.

So Moran disses his opponent’s military record when he’s with his Democratic pals, then uses – without authorization – the reputation of a military group to help him get reelected. Classy.

We've always known that those on the left are, for the most part, no friends of our military, though the brave men and women who wear the uniform have put their lives on the line for the ingrates countless times. But Congressional liberals rarely allow their resentment of our troops and vets to be publicly witnessed, as Moran did here. It is long past time to retire this ungrateful, unpatriotic wretch.

Sarah Palin: Reject calls to `fundamentally' change US

Sarah Palin told a crowd of hundreds of thousands that one way to honor Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy is to honor those men and women in the military who protect the United States:

The potential 2012 presidential candidate says those who fought at Bunker Hill and Gettysburg protected the freedoms that allowed thousands of people gather on the National Mall in Washington on the 47th anniversary of King's "I Have a Dream" speech.

While broadcaster Glenn Beck's rally isn't billed as a political event, Palin says voters must reject calls to "fundamentally transform America." Instead, she says "we must restore America."

Gov. Palin, whose son served in Iraq, introduced three military heroes to the crowd. She also honored fallen members of the military, saying, “We honor those who served something greater than themselves. For these men and women, it’s not just about spreading honor. For them, honor is never lost.”

Gov. Palin Pitches in to Help Military K-9 Outreach

Operation Military Care K-9 is a program that reaches out to military K-9 teams deployed in the Middle East. Both the dogs and their handlers are recipients of care packages thanks to the effort, which was organized by Beth White, a teacher at Henderson High School in South Carolina. Mud Creek Baptist Church is partnering with Beth to help send such useful items as cooling vests and bandannas for the dogs and sun block and lip balm for their handlers, as the teams have to work in the intense heat under the punishing sun of the Middle East.

Now one year old, Operation Military Care K-9 has sent more than 300 care packages to the military service dogs and their handlers. The Times-News says that a Memorial Day shipment to K-9 teams is scheduled to leave May 11 for the Middle East, and it will include some very special American flags. Each flag will include a message from Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose son Track is on active duty in the M.E.:

"God Bless," Palin wrote boldly on each flag. She was thankful to be included in this opportunity to express her gratitude and prayer for the military men and women, White says.
