Statement by APD exposes lies about Todd Palin (Updated)

God have mercy on the bearers of false witness
*
According to infotainment site TMZ, the Anchorage Police Department has released a statement explaining that although they have seized evidence in a massage parlor sting operation, none of the evidence shows any sort of link between a massage therapist named Shailey Tripp and Todd Palin.

Not only does the APD statement directly refute allegations made in the tabloid National Enquirer and spread across the internet by leftist and gossip web sites, but the police department also revealed that the Enquirer published their lies without even bothering to contact Anchorage police officials to verify their misinformation.

The website Uncoverage.net finds a curious coincidence in the timing of media coverage (what little there is of it) of the APD statement:
"...this attempt to 'bury' this story in the SOTU coverage really reeks of MSM business as usual. Slime the conservative morning noon and night…..bury the retraction on a busy news day."
To which we say, what retractions? So far only TMZ (to their credit) and Uncoverage.net have reported on the APD statement.

The lying, lamestream media just won't stop making things up.

Updates...
Add The Hollywood Gossip to the very short list of websites which are reporting the APD statement and making it clear (crystal) that no link of any kind was found between "massage therapist" Shailey Tripp and Todd Palin, as was erroniously -- and in some cases, viciously -- claimed by the Enquirer.

As regular readers of Texas for Sarah Palin are well aware, we have little regard for gossip columnists and their websites. Most of them are arrogant and high-school-mean-girl snarky, and they couldn't care less about actual facts. They have a slither factor which is right down there in the sewer with moonbat leftist bloggers. When we find exceptions to this rule, however, we will give due credit. In this instance, at least, good on The Hollywood Gossip.

Here's the Anchorage Police Department's statement, via Uncoverage.net:
The Anchorage Police Department investigation and arrest of Shailey Tripp has recently been mischaracterized in internet blogs and in a National Enquirer article. Several errors regarding the investigation and arrest were reported in the Enquirer article (printed and internet versions):
  • None of the physical evidence examined by police showed any connection to Wasilla resident Todd Palin and his name did not appear in any of the records seized by APD.
  • The investigation of the prostitution operation was initiated by Anchorage Police Department’s Vice Unit responding to internet advertisements, not through information developed from any tips or other persons.
  • No rolodex was seized and taken into evidence.
  • The National Enquirer has not contacted Anchorage Police Department Public Affairs Unit to fact check its story so their reported “call to Anchorage Police Department” could not have been returned.
  • Bloggers” have had no access to the evidence seized so their linking of evidence in police custody to any other person is incorrect.
