Going Rogue was #1 at WalMart for the first 10 days it was in pre-release status, then there was a 3 day period during which they directed people to B&N, but now it's back at #4 this time. I suspect that they may have sold out of their original allottment, and had to request additional copies. Going Rogue is still #1 at Borders, #1 in non-fication at Books A Million, #1 in non-fiction at Amazon (#5 among all books) and #12 at B&N. It only dropped to #12 due to a heavy influx of sales of Wimpy Kid books. I suspect the DNC is having truckloads of Wimpy Kid books delivered as we speak.
ReplyDeleteI guess the DNC didn't order enough Wimpy Kid books, Going Rogue has moved up to #8 at BN.
ReplyDeleteHere's something interesting:
A Different Sarah Palin Book Gets a Boost
the biography sold 13,000 hardcovers and 80,000 paperback copies.
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2009/10/15/a-different-sarah-palin-book-gets-a-boost/
total of 93,000 copies is actually very good for a non-fiction book. This book is now #37,017 at BN, Romney's new book is #233,293
at BN. Going Rogue is #8 at BN. Sales of Going Rogue could be blockbuster level.
Josh, I thank you very much for the post. My family now has pre-ordered two copies of Sarah's book.
