Palin "looks forward to doing all she can to bring about positive change many desire and deserve, across Alaska and our great nation, through this National Council for a New America and others," Meghan Stapleton, a spokeswoman for SarahPAC, said in an e-mail.The drive-by media has tried to light another fire, speculating wildly about why Gov. Palin had not responded to the group's invitation. When will the drive-bys learn that the governor doesn't just rush into decisions lightly, preferring instead the more prudent path of giving things due consideration? Yes, I know, it was a rhetorical question.
Stapleton said Palin's primary focus, though, is her home state. Palin "is focused on moving Alaska forward and pushing for her goals which include providing energy independence and security for Alaskans and Americans," she said.

Update 2: Congressman David Dreier (R-CA), on Greta Susteren's FNC show last night, mentioned that Senator John Ensign (R-NV) will be also be working with NCNA.

They definitely need her more than she needs them.
ReplyDeleteIf she actually takes part in any of their events, she will suck the oxygen out of everyone else's sails. Although there has been some criticism about her association with this bunch, it may actually be a good move on her part. She will so overwhelm the others, no one cares what Jeb Bush, McCain, Romney and the others have to say. Their 1st "big event," attracted 50-100 people lured to a pizza joint by promises of free pizza. If Palin attends an event, they will actually have to find a place where thousands could be accomodated. I'm not sure how the others will take it when they are greeted with polite applause, and she is greeted with chants of "Sarah, Sarah." She could end up overwhelming this group to such an extent that the others will split and reform without her. Let's face it no one cares what McCain, Romney and others have to say, we've heard it all for years, she is the one who would get all the headlines. If SarahPAC turns out to be the financial powerhouse that I hope it is, she could essentially use this group, in addition to SarahPAC to cement her leadership of the GOP.
